Hazel Dixon thought she was putting her troubled past behind her. But when the person she thought she trusted most betrays her, she loses her head and proposes to an entire bar full of strangers. 

Enter Will Sheffield, a charming stranger who decides to take her up on her offer to save her from herself.

Hazel in the Demon's Den

Hazel had cut right through to the heart of the matter. Will was worried about that because he wasn't capable of loving the child she cared for so much and if he didn't manage to do what the parenting books said Henry would turn out wrong and hurt her.


If he failed her, she would leave. It was better to keep back than try and get involved if it meant doing things wrong.


She placed her hands on his cheeks and kissed him for a full minute before coming up for air and speaking in a serious tone. "Will, he likes you because you haven't done anything that would make him dislike you. You are not inherently dislikable.


"Do what the books say even if your heart isn't in it and you'll be fine. Think about how happy he was from the tiny bit of attention you showed him earlier! It's that simple. Maybe you'll change your mind after spending more time with him."
