Professor Jay kept driving along before he reached an area that seemed the same as everything else, they passed by. The silence in the car was deafening. He knew that once she understood what was going on she wouldn't want to help him. He needed to resort to tactics. What could he do or say to get her to help him with this mess he unwittingly made? He pressed a special button on the car that allowed a garage to open in front of them.
Akaisha who was sitting just staring out the window bored, started to come alive when she seen what was going on. He was a professor and mad man maybe he had the means to do anything that he wanted. "What's going on?"
"We're just going into my lab. It would be better if we talked here. You know privacy and secrets, those sorts of things."
Once they drove into the void, he parked the car and waited for the garage to close once more before letting himself and her out. "Now then, I said I needed to talk to you but I also need your help. Something happened here."
"Whatever happened here is your problem not mines."
"Ah but you see, you're wrong. What happened here also affects you." He clapped his hands three time causing the lights to come on. There in the room they could see the body of someone lying on the floor. "One of my experiments got out you see. I was on my way here when I happened upon you."
She didn't listen to a word he had to say. Instead she rushed toward the person lying on the ground. She placed her hand up to the left side of his neck to feel for a pulse. It was thready but she knew that she could restore him. "What did you do to him? Why do you even still experiment on people?" She placed her fingers over his heart.
A small burst of light emitted from her hand. The man sat up to see the stranger and Professor Jay together. He started to apologize when Professor Jay waved his hand. "No need, I always have surveillance going. It was not your fault. Are you alright?"
This was the first time she had ever seen him seemingly caring towards someone else. This man she did not know. How could she? The man from her nightmares was a brute who experimented on a child. "It got out."
She looked back at the man that had just spoken. "What got out?"
"The thing we were working on." The man turned to look at her as he answered but then went to the cage. "I'm sorry sir, I thought I had the cage secured but it wasn't. It must have paid attention to me and memorized the codes."
She hated being ignored. Yes, he did answer her question to an extent but that wasn't an explanation. She stomped towards Professor Jay, grabbing him by his collar. "WHAT GOT OUT?"
"Sorry dear one, its not like we mean to ignore you. You see I was working on making it so distinct animals could come back and protect themselves. We didn't have any problems until this one."
"What animal? Don't tell me it was a dinosaur? You've seen how that turned out. Your older than I am you've seen those films."
"Yes, of course I have. Trust me when I say I have not gotten any Dino DNA it was something that should have been less harmful but apparently anything can turn on you if you do the right or wrong thing." He stretched out to stroke her cheek to emphasize she was what he meant. "Now, will you help me?"
"No! This has nothing to do with me."
"It does, that animal has the strength of a bear, the hunting prowess of the wild cats, and well it can fly. It wont stay in the desert. It will go to where food is. The city."
She dropped him down on the floor and cursed. "You're telling me I need to help you to retrieve an animal I've never even see? Are you insane?"
"No, insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different result. I weighed every possible outcome and this was also something I thought I factored in but alas giving the animal the super intelligence won't make it easy."
Akaisha sighed once more at what she heard. All of this was something she didn't expect to happen. Now she knew she had to help since the people in the city were more or less innocent. "Fine, but after this I want nothing to do with you. Got it?"
"Of course, my dear you have my word." His word should have been his bound but Professor Jay had something else in store for her.
