Secrets Untold

"Where should we look for this animal?" Akaisha was beginning to worry about Blue considering she wasn't sure how big this thing was or what it even was. Were they actually sure that the animal left this secret compound or was it hiding somewhere within it?

"Fortunately, during my experiments we put a tracker inside of it's leg. So we should be able to find it. I'll just need you to use any one of your abilities to bring it back safely. Emphasize on the world safely." He was rummaging through several drawers looking for something.

"And if I don't? what will you do?" She was testing him, he knew that. She was always defiant towards him. He motioned for his assistant.

"Well, I'll take your precious dog." He was faster than she realized. The assistant already had blue in his arms, hefting her up, and placing her in a cage. The man just looked at her giving a wicked smile.

"I don't trust that you wont experiment on Blue even if I do return it back safely. How do I know your word is actually good?"

"Ah, well the answer to that precious girl is it's not. You're taking a gamble that she will be the same sweet dumb mutt when you return."

Akaisha was seething, she knew Blue was smarter than most animals and could always tell what she was thinking. Just as fast as she was to anger she quickly calmed down. She looked over at the assistant before stealing his sight and the use of his legs. The man went down like a ragdoll. "You took something important from me so I took something from you. I want my girl to remain the same when I return. And you, Professor Jay will be coming with me."

Professor Jay finally found what he was looking for. He paid no attention to the assistant crumpled to the floor. He turned his complete focus on to Akaisha. "Certainly, I am the only one that can read this device. You seem as if you want to hurt me terribly so but that idiot means nothing."

She could see the disdain rising from him. He really didn't care about anything other than his own personal interests. How Akaisha wished she could show the world what a scum he was. "Then, I'll follow your lead. After you?"

"Tsk, tsk no little missy. You could very well try to hurt me we will go side by side." He looked down to see where the blinking light came from for the animal. "Ah it's still in the compound so that is a relief. Come now we mustn't dawdle." He grabbed hold of her arm pulling her along.

Shaking free from him she walked next to him. "I do not want nor need you to help me walk. I am perfectly capable of it."

"Yes, very well."

The walked along side by side in silence. The only side was emitted from the tracker. A steady beep every fifteen seconds. Akaisha couldn't take the silence for much longer. Something she had been wanting to know for so long came out. "Why did you experiment on me? I was only a child?"

He looked up and down to see if she was seriously asking him that. His tone was flat when he spoke, "Because you were mines. Why else?"

Her eyes widen just a fraction before she became cool. "So, you think it's ok to experiment on anything as long as they are yours? That's despicable. I was a child. I should have been enjoying being one not locked away in a lab doing nothing."

"Yes well your parents signed off on it. They were in a terrible hurry to get rid of you. They were trying to sell you off to some stranger to pay their debts. When that didn't work the found me, a humanitarian. I paid their debts but they were greedy. Foolish mongrels. Setting fire to the house you were in alone before I could retrieve you." His face twisted in disgust. "Well, it doesn't matter. You'll never have to see those rotten assholes again. I made sure of that. No one will ever find them which means no one will ever find out about you."

"What do you…" She was cut off by the rapid beeping of the machine. The closer they moved the faster it got. Soon it showed they were right on top of the animal. They both looked around and didn't see anything. A snarl was heard on the corner away from Akaisha. It was too dimly lit but she could see something was moving. The professor turned on a light from the device, pointing it in the direction the sound came from. There in the corner was a mutated animal. It looked as if it was a dodo bird but had a tiger's tail attached to the end with lion paws and eagle wings. They eyes were red, as if it had seen only pain in its life.

Akaisha looked to the trifling man next to her and could only swallow. How could he do something like this. Why would he do something like this. Experimenting on child is one thing but on extinct animals was something only a madman would conjure.
