Escaping a Madman

Akaisha focused really hard she imagined the device in her hand. After a few minutes, a small weight settled in her palm. She opened her eyes and exhaled in relief. Giving Red a small smile she threw it down to the floor and stomped on it. Red had run to the assistant to help out Blue, with one swipe of it's paw the man was down on the ground unconscious. Akaisha hurried towards the two of them. Cuddling Blue into her chest she wrapped her arms around Red to teleport them all outside.

At that moment Professor Jay had managed to come back to the lab only to see the three of them vanish. His eyes went to find his assistant lying on the floor. He stood there staring at the empty space they were just in. Moments later a hysterical laugh erupted from within him. He continued to laugh as if he lost any sense of reason within him. His first creation had stolen his latest experiment. What were the odds of that happening to him? Professor Jay finally stopped laughing long enough to walk to his assistant.

The man finally was starting to come to when he could see the lunacy shining within his eyes, he wasn't sure what was going to happen. "Professor they escaped, that stupid mutt bit me then the experiment…"

Professor Jay placed his finger to the man's lips quieting his voice. "I saw them escape. She looked right at me with a smug expression. I knew she was going to do this. I felt it."

The assistant couldn't be sure what to think he tried to give the professor good news. "We can start over. We perfected the formula we know it works."

"Shhh, there's no need. If I know her, she took that with her." Professor Jay began to help the man up to his feet. His hand went to the side of the assistant's face. He looked as if he was inspecting the claw marks on his skin. "You've served your purpose. I no longer need you."

Where Professor Jay touched him started to feel warm. The feeling began to spread across his fast. His skin kept getting hotter, the pain was unbearable. He felt as if his brain was melting in the process. The assistant tried to move away from the professor but his body wouldn't go. His brain was desperately trying to do what it could to cool its temperature down. Instead it his heart gave out. The man's body limply fell to the floor. The Professor let go of him. He removed his now scorched glove. "If you had been more competent this wouldn't have happened. It's your own fault you died. Not to mention it's your fault you didn't subdue that damn mongrel in the first place."

He disposed of the body along with the hidden lab. His first thought after getting rid of the disaster was to make it so Akaisha couldn't go anywhere in the galaxy without being hounded. She dared to not only disobey him but to steal from him. She wouldn't be safe any place she tried to hide.

Akaisha, Red Mist, and Blue were in the now darken desert. They had walked back to where her car was parked on the side of the road. It still looked as if it was safe but for the moment. She looked at her car and to both of her animals. Blue was snuggled on top of Red's lion paws. Of course, she would fit in there but what about the other one. It would be hard to leave Red outside alone. It's been relatively alone for some time. She opened both the passenger doors. "Get in, we'll camp in here for the time being."

Both animals went to the back door to climb in together. "Blue get up front, you may make Red uncomfortable." Blue listened but heard a strange sound from the side of her. When she looked to her left it was red making an incredibly sad face. "Are you telling me you want blue back there with you? Wont you be uncomfortable?"

"Possibly but it would be more comfortable to have something close to me. I was always alone in that cage."

"Alright then, you both can go back there. As long as you two are warm and safe that's important." She closed the front passenger door once Blue hoped to the back. The two animals cuddled together and instantly fell asleep. Akaisha stayed awake to keep watch over them all. She couldn't believe her powers were as progressive as they were. She wondered if by using her mind would she be able to get the car moving once again. There wasn't any harm in giving it a try. Beats them staying in a cold desert and possibly getting sick.
