Ch 8 Best Laid Plans

Mara woke up in Malum's arms and was worried she was up early. 'What I look like being up before ten in the morning?' she thought to herself. She looked at the clock on the nightstand and noticed it as a little past eleven. "Mmm I could wake up like this every morning.." Malum muttered into her back as he planted kisses down her spine. "Breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed." he added pulling her close to him just so he could turn her and prop himself up over her. "Is everything okay babe?" Mara asked worriedly. "Everything is perfect. I've done my CEO duties and delegated like a good boss to give myself the rest of the week off." he replied and kissed her softly. "Oh? What's the occasion?" she asked with a sly smile. "Well one I wanted to spend the week with my beautiful mate and it will give us and our friends plenty of time to plan our retribution" he said with a sly smile. Mara lifted a curious brow and smirked. "Oh?" she asked simply. "What did you think some 'Jesus loves me, this I know' fucks could attack MY MATE and I wouldn't make them regret their sad existence?" he asked, feigning offence. Mara burst out laughing to the point where Malum kissed her tears of laughter away. "This man said 'Jesus loves me, this I know fucks' I CANNOT!" she squealed and tried to calm her laughter.

Malum chuckled at her reaction before sliding off of her and the bed, taking her with him. "But first I must get you fed, it's already lunch time and I had breakfast ordered." he informed her. Mara giggled in his arms and wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her into the kitchen and set her on a chair at the dining table. He wheeled over a tray filled with homemade breakfast foods he had a chef come in and make while she was asleep. "Pretty sure we covered all the bases." he said, pretending to take inventory of all the food as he put it out on the table for her. "Fucking hell Malum, I cant eat all this. Even if I was pregnant, this would be too much!" she squeals more than excited to try.

Malum smiled at the thought of her pregnant and how she would look swollen with their young growing inside her. Soon enough they would find out though. "So Prudence has been summoning my generals of Legion, whom you will get to meet after brunch, and they have come up with a plan for us to get back at your would be kidnappers." he informed her as she plated tons of food onto her plate. "Otay!" he said in a kid like voice as she dug into her food with a smile. "I do wonder what a little you and I would look like." he thought aloud as he playfully rubbed her belly as she leaned back to enjoy her food. "Hopefully my non-brillo pad hair, your glorious chocolate skin, a mix of our eyes somehow, your lips and brows, my nose and cheeks."she replied with a smile as if she had it all planned out.

"Oh okay Miss, I know it all. So what would we name them then?" he asked with a raised brow. "I don't know. I never saw myself as being one to or being able to settle down and have kids as much as I love and want them." she replied, licking the syrup off her fork. 'Oh my dearest Mara you have no idea' he thought to himself. "Well let's get showered before my Legion gets here and we can talk about it then yeah?" He suggested, picking her up and leaving the dishes and cleaning up to the maids. They managed to get through the shower without going another round and dressed rather quickly as they heard knocking at the door.

Malum donned a black t-shirt that looked two sizes too small thanks to his muscles and comfortable matching black sweats. "You don't have any in gray?" Mara asked innocently. "No, why?" he replied with a confused lifted brow. "No reason, just wondering! Your friends are here!" she announced feeling the ebb of demonic magic as she skipped out of the room. Malum shrugged it off with a shake of his head and followed her out of the room.

Mara sat at the dining tablet waiting for Malum to let his generals in. Malum led in fourteen people from the front room and they stood by their respective chairs. Mara stood as Malum walked over to the empty seat next to her. "Legion, this is your queen, my mate. My Mara." Malum announced as he took her hand looking down to her with a smile. Mara smiled at him and looked at his generals, "It's a pleasure you meet you all." she said with a nod of her head. All but one of them gave her a deep bow. She expected someone to not like the fact that she wasn't a demon like them so she had mentally prepared for the conflict.

"Is there a reason our queen happens to be a woman who's hunted so many of our kind?" the man asked. Mara had not prepared for that and she was not mentally kicking herself for it. "Vyngence(Vengeance) mind your tongue!" the man next to him scolded in a whisper yell. 'Well now I know his name.' she thought to herself. "I feel it's a valid question. I mean-" he didn't get to finish his statement as the woman next to him smacked him up the backside of his head so hard she had to shake the stars out of his vision. "Please forgive our son my queen. I am Karma and this is my mate, Death." she said motioning to the man next to Vyngence. Mara nodded as Malum spoke, "I hope we can all act like adults considering almost all of us are well over a few hundred millennia old yes?" he said looking over the crown with a mean glare that made Mara shudder partly in fear but it also turned her on. 'The fuck is wrong with you woman!?' she scolded herself. One of the women looked at her seemingly with a knowing smile and she looked back over to Malum thanking the powers that be that no one could see her blush.

"Now, before I was so rudely interrupted. Mara, These four gentlemen are the four horsemen." he informed her motioning to the four men closest to him including Death. "The two younger boys are Vyngence and Kayos, Death and Karma's sons. You already know Karma and the other lovely ladies are the seven deadly sins." he added. It was at this moment Mara realized Lust was probably the one who gave her the knowing look which made her all the more embarrassed but she managed to keep her heart rate down. "You may be seated." Malum said motioning to the chairs.

Everyone took their seats and Mara spoke up. "Before we begin I'd like to answer your question Vyngence. If your demons were better at not getting caught I wouldn't have been able to hunt them down let alone end them. Might I suggest better training?" Mara offered with a sweet smile. Vyngence didn't seem to take it well but everyone else had laughter in their eyes while Karma, Death and Kayos didn't seem to care about his feelings and burst out laughing. This caused everyone else to laugh as well. Vygence sent Mara a glare but looked away swiftly remembering his place. "What do you have for me?" Malum asked, now deadly serious.

"My queen, I am War." The man said, introducing himself. "My liege, we have been watching the people that attacked the queen closely, learning their daily routine as well as their strengths and weaknesses. We know exactly where to hit them and how." he informed them. "I am Lust." the woman from earlier said, confirming Mara's hypothesis. "These are lowly men of the cloth that I am more than positive my sisters and I can manipulate." she suggested. "No. I know Mara dealt with them when they tried to take her but I want them to suffer in the worst way." Malum replied. "Oh! Take from them that which they love the most. Their ability to serve the will of the Lord." Mara said using a mocking tone for the last part. Everyone laughed, even Vyngence. "And how do you suggest we go about this my queen?" Karma asked excitedly. 'The queen isn't a pushover, thank Lucifer.' Karma thought to herself.

"Well part of being a man of the church requires purity. Take that from them. I can't imagine their faces realizing that they've not only had sex, but sex with a demon." Mara said with a scary smile. "Oh don't even show them at first. Just do what you ladies do. Let them wake up realizing the abhorrent error they've made and when they try n kick you out, transform and then poof away." Mara started laughing. "Oh fuck what I would pa to be a fly on that wall." she muttered and everyone burst out laughing. Vyngence lifted a brow in surprise or that he was impressed perhaps, Mara couldn't tell. "Then the rest of you can taunt them from the shadows for some time. Make them go mad." Malum added. "I know a few times that are frowned upon in the catholic religion beyond just the sex. Perhaps we can push them a bit more?" Kayos suggested and Malum Nodded. "Get it done" was his only reply and his demons teleported away.

"How long have they been watching the Iscariot? They only just tried me yesterday?" Mara asked. "We've been watching them for some time. Even if you hadn't stopped them my men would have. However, on to more important things. I'm still hungry." Malum muttered looking to Mara. "For real?! We just ate an Old country Buffet worth of food! How sway!?" Mara asked, looking at him confused. She looked at his eyes and realized the hunger he was referring too wasn't for food. Without warning Malum stood up and lifted Mara into his arms before teleporting into the bedroom, his shadows slamming the door closed.

Father Anderson and Gabriel walk into the infirmary as nurses run around tending to the men. "Gabriel, these are my top commanders Heinkel Wolfe and Yumiko Takagi." he said introducing his commanders to the ArchAngel. "It's an honor to meet you ArchAngel Gabriel." she both said and bowed in respect." They said in sync before lifting themselves upright." Now, Wolfe, Takagi. Care to explain what in the Lord's name happened here!?" Anderson barked. "She knew we were coming sir, I'm not even sure how." Wolfe informed him. "By the time we flanked and trapped her she had her own trap set. She could control these bugs that came out of nowhere and then she made a storm in the middle of the day." Heinkel added. "She used the dragonflies as conductors and electrocuted the men with pure lighting." Yumiko informed him and he stood there pensive with his hands balled into fist at his side.

"It's clear you have no idea about Mara. Apologies, If I had known you didn't know of her I would have informed you." Gabriel said. "She has been dealing with, hunting and exorcising or killing supernatural creatures since she was a kid. She is a very powerful witch yes but what makes her so dangerous is the wealth of knowledge and different magics she can use more than proficiently. She's been hunting the same creatures you all have and has worked with the church before. Needless to say she's probably not only aware of all your normal tactics but even if she didn't she couldn't probably spot you yards off. Part of her hunts require her to hide and be unseen so she knows what to look for." he informed them. He was sure the Iscariot would have heard or done jobs with her, so they fact that they had no clue about her threw him for a loop. 'Is it bad I kind of feel proud of her though.' he thought to himself with a sigh.

"You two, find out everything you can about her. Yumiko, talk to the church. Heinkel, follow her but do not engage and for the love of all that is mighty and the Lord himself. Do be careful this time?" he ordered. They nodded and left to follow his command.

"S-s-sir?" one of the men called out from his bed. "Aye, you need to rest, soldier." he said, trying to coax the man into relaxing. The man shook his head. "No sir. How can I, knowing that that vile evil is still out there. We witnessed first hand what she's capable of. If that poor woman is under his command I fear what they are capable of together." he said. Another man lifted himself from the bed slowly. "The marks on her wrist were Celtic knots and she spoke in Gaelic. She told us that instead of using dark or light magic that we could try to overpower or bend to our will she used elemental magic since we had no control over it." he said shakily. "Perhaps you could find someone to help counteract the magic or help you fight it?" Gabriel Suggested and Father Anderson nodded in agreement. "Aye. I will find someone. Go and we will let you know as soon as we have your woman." Anderson suggested. Gabriel wanted to help but he knew he wouldn't think straight as far as Mara was concerned so he nodded solemnly. "You're right. I'll be off." he said leaving them to their devices.
