Chapter 3: Shit

The morning started out pretty normal. No one made eye contact with me, or even tried to interact with me. Well I like it like this because I can focus on training. I finish my breakfast and leave to go to where my instructor was. On my way there I saw someone and the person saw me.

"Those red eyes and straight black hair. I know who you are. You're the bastard who left me for dead in the forest." Chuck said. I try to walk away, but he runs toward me.

"So I hope you enjoyed the skills you got. You are gonna get a beating because now I'm going to beat you here at the camp battles. They will take place in two day, so say your prayers." Chuck said to me. I give him a mischievous smile and walk away without saying a single word. The instructor's name was Gonzales and he was a good trainer. Today we were going to do something 'special' according to him.

"Ok today and hear me out, we will learn at least 3 projectile spells." Gonzales tells us and as soon as he finishes talking someone asks why we need to learn projectile spells.

Gonzales responded with,"If you can't  get close what will you do? Will you throw your blade, then what? Learning 3 spells gives you options when you can't get close enough." I understood the reason, but some idiots still couldn't get through their thick skulls.

"How exactly will we learn 3 spells in one day?" I asked him.

"You have two days to learn 3 spells and if you can't, then you don't belong here. Read scrolls or get someone who knows projectile spells to train you, good luck." He told me and part of me was excited for the challenge. I knew someone who I could ask but did not want to at all. The 8th ranked person in the guild, Shiro and one thing about him was that he is talented in sorcery. I really didn't want to ask, but I have to because I have to get stronger.

30 minutes later

I saw him near the lunch area and went to ask him for help. Shiro saw me and stood up and walked towards me too.

"Do you need something? You never try to talk to me at all." Shiro says. He was smart and could probably figure out what I needed him for.

"Teach me 3 projectile spells." I tell Shiro. He starts laughing and pats me on the head.

"Well ok with the intelligence you have you can learn 3 mid-tier spells." Shiro told me. I was surprised he actually complimented me, but I just wanted to learn 3 projectile spells.

"Well that is if you are competent, but that is debatable. We'll see what happens. Come with me." Shiro tells me. I realized why I didn't talk to him much. He spoke his mind and didn't care much about who he was talking to.

"Ok so my intelligence stat is at 250 about the same as my other stats aside from strength." I told Shiro.

"Even the strongest person hasn't gotten to the cap of the stats. If there is one but anyways the three spells you should learn are Plasma Chain, Gale Storm, and Flash Flare. Plasma Chain shoots lightning outwards good for multiple enemies. Gale Storm can hit with wind and you can use it to move in mid-air. Flash Flare is useful to blind the opponent if you learn how to manipulate it but otherwise it is mostly fire manipulation." Shiro explains to me,"All three of them took three hours to learn, but I'm guessing it will take you longer." I see his demonstration of each skill and they seem useful especially for me. I ended up spending the rest of the day learning the skills.
