Chapter 12: Losing Progress

We were barely able to win,  but something told me that they had subordinates spread out through the guilds. We went to the main hall to get to the first day banquet. Everyone seemed to be avoiding me and I wasn't completely sure why. The banquet was tense and not much was said to other guild groups, but there seemed to be people who were scouting out other guild groups. I just wanted to go to the rooms they gave us and sleep. The queen was here, but high up where only spells and long range attacks could reach. I ate as much as I could and left for my room. I could barely sleep and what little sleep I did get only made me feel worse. The next morning was the second day of the Guild Wars. I went to the main hall to hear what we were doing for today. Chloe walked up to me with the rest of the 9.

"Hey are you alright? Did you get enough sleep last night?" She said to me.

"No I didn't." I told her and as if on queue a loud voice echoed through the hall. The queen was ready to give us the rules and competition we would do today.

"For the second day of Guild Wars, you will be playing a type of game called, Orb Breakers. You will be playing 2 teams and to win you have to break the orbs of the two other teams while keeping your orb safe. Your team will be all 10 of your group." The bell rang and we were sent back to the coliseum to play Orb Breakers with two other teams. George turned around and told us the game plan,"Ok so Vicente and I will head over to try and destroy the orb of the Elixir team to the left. Sophia and Hailey go destroy the Neptune team's orb and everyone else protect our orb. Both of the guilds are on the lower-end of strength unlike us who are around the middle rank of guilds." As soon as George was done giving the plan, we all prepared ourselves to have to fight a lot to get through the teams to break their orbs, but no one really seemed too nervous.

"How do we know that this is going to work, asshole?" I said without thinking.

"What are you talking about? I don't know that this is going to work. All this is what I came up with in my head. We don't know the events, but we have to prepare for anything." George said to me calmly.

"Well douchebag, you could have tried to find out more information instead of stuffing your face at the banquet yesterday." I don't know why I was saying all this, but I could feel that I was making things worse for myself.

"You have been acting differently since your fight with that guy and we don't know why. You were making progress and trying to improve yourself. We all took notice, but now you're acting just like before." George said to me.

"It's exactly like what that bastard said, I'm incomplete." I told them

"We all know that you aren't and that's why we have you a chance now try your best to show us how much you've changed. I want you to believe in yourself like before." George said.

"Ok let's do this and sorry about that….buddy." I said to him which seemed to make him happy.

"Ok we can do this." He said. I still didn't feel completely fine, but his reassurance made me happy.

"So you and I will attack the Elixir guild. If I remember correctly they are alchemists and mages mostly. So getting in close will be hard to do, so who will distract them to get in close?" As soon as I said this I figured that I was the decoy.

"From the look on your face, I'm guessing that you figured who the decoy is, but either way you'll go in and fight all of them while I try to destroy the orb secretly. Can you do this?" He told me, but the thought of kicking people's asses made me feel excited. It took us some time to get there since the field was big, but once we got there I went to distract everyone there.

     "Use skill: Lucky Dice

     Strength+Speed

     ×1.5

Rebound ×2 power given." It was a good thing I leveled up lucky dice quite a bit and made it better. I could see a timer for how long it lasts, but the timer changes depending on the stats that I upgrade. It was time to fight as much as I could.

"Use skill: Flash Flare. Use skill: Plasma Chain." I fired the spells at the orb.  The orb seemed to be protected by a couple of spells. I did feel that I put a big dent in protection spells. As soon as I hit the orb's barrier many alchemists and mages came at me hitting me with everything they had.

"Use skill: Conqueror style- conquista del infierno." My sword was surrounded by fire and gave my skill more potency. The skill multiple slash and really helped take out a good amount of them. The more that came at me, the more I felt better, but as I was fighting something weird happened.

Message: Corrupted Conqueror style unlocked. You can keep the Conqueror style. [Yes or No].

I clicked yes, but I wasn't completely sure what was going on. I just kept fighting and as soon as I finished I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Good job thanks to you I got their orb and it seems like you got stronger." Geroge told me. I had to check what Corrupted Conqueror style was later, but for now George and I had to return to our orb.
