Chapter 70: The Farewell

[3rd Person POV]

"Can we stop them father?" Heracles asked Zeus, "I don't know, but a warrior never asks if they can win and just fight with every bit of strength in their being. If this is the end for us, then let's go down at least pricking that bastard with our dying breath." Zeus saw his wife, Hera, the one who stood by him and put up with his adultery. She was smiling despite Heracles being here. She was smiling at her husband, the man she loved and cared for.

"We'll go down fighting, right my love?" Zeus' eyes soften, "My wife, my everything, I am sorry for everything that I've put you through. You deserved better, but know that I love and will always love you even if the whole multiverse were to be destroyed." Hera kissed her husband for what very well may be the last time before they all set off.

"Father, will you be alright for this?" Thor asked, "I may be old, but I am still a warrior and a god. I won't allow people to sully our great pantheon's name because of me. I will fight to my very last breath and show everyone the strength of Valhalla. Thor, Loki, I'm sorry for not being there for you. Know that I'm proud of you both and will cherish our time together." Loki's eyes even teared up at these words before they all set their sights on a Cloaked Figure in the distance. The havoc being made by this being was bringing utter disgust from Odin and he wouldn't stand for it. He would die a warrior's death with a smile on his face. He would never allow such a being to wreak havoc upon the entire multiverse. He would not allow this universe to be destroyed and would not allow other universes to be destroyed after this being had fun playing with this one.

"Thank you for being with me and for helping me so much." Pablo said while he lit up a cigar. Paula had one already going, as they looked at the devastation from their television.

"I would for the rest of eternity." Paula and Pablo hugged before continuing to watch the destruction.

"Do you believe that he will succeed, Merlin?" King Arthur asked his best friend.

"My visions aren't perfect, but in my heart and soul I believe that he can succeed in saving everyone. The power he got from the trial should be barely enough." Merlin smiled while King Arthur went to find his wife.

"Arthur, why are you here? Shouldn't you be planning out a strategy with Merlin?" Arthur picked up Guinevere and decided to do what she wanted. They enjoyed their time together, as Arthur felt the happiest he had ever felt in a long time.

"Shelby, what do you want to do today?" Rhodes asked his wife.

"There's destruction all around, so we should help!"

"Is that what you want to do though? I want to spend my remaining moments peacefully and with you. I'm afraid that I can't fight against that and I don't want to keep living without you." Shelby broke down, as they just hugged awaiting for their end. They would go down together if the world wasn't saved.

"I really hope Dean and Sophia are alright. Please spirits allow them to come back safe and sound." Dean's mother said.

"I know they'll return. Dean told me herself that she would and she's never lied to us before. We have to hold out hope that they'll return." Dean's father himself wasn't sure and so they just held each other. They both hoped that Dean and Sophia would survive. They held each other tight, as they prayed to whoever would listen.
