To The Guild!

Mike felt an urge to cover his eyes as the ray of light illuminated the darkness as it sped towards the pig. The pig which was on its way to charge suddenly stopped on its track as the ray of light completely brightened the surroundings.

"Ah!" Mike gasped as he covered both of his eyes with his hands , with Wolfy shaking its fur in fear. He waited for the brightness to subside as he found a new notification flash past the panel.

"Level 4 Unicorn Warthog slain. 100 EXP earned. Level Suppression x4 , rewards multiplied to 4."

Mike rubbed his eyes as the brightness that glared them still lingered.

"Really worthy of its tier." He slowly praised the ring. It had insta-killed a Level 4 beast while the carrier was a pitiful Level 0.

He wasn't surprised that this beast was already Level 4 though, as it had been long since he last met this hog.

What more if he advanced?

Mike could only imagine the outcomes if he used this deadly ring to an enemy 4 levels past him.

But that was of course excluding those sturdy Tank Jobs, as they had whopping defense and incredibly high HP. This of course was in exchange to their attack and agility.

After the light disappeared, he looked at where he fired a Basic Attack and hurried to only find a parchment instead of a corpse.

"Where was it?" Mike asked in surprise. He didn't expect for the light to totally eliminate the hog including its body. Mike reached for the parchment.

"Ow! So hot!" He let go of the paper as he rubbed his hands together. He noticed his HP drop a bit.

Why was it that hot? Did the light made it hot?

He used two fallen branches from a tree and picked it up like a food tongs pulling a grilled hotdog. He made sure to check the paper for heat and read the contents of the paper.

"Bathe in the Holy Light … " Mike read aloud. However, after reading it, the paper suddenly burnt down and nothing was left even ashes of sorts.

Mike let go of the burning paper as he wiped his hand of ash.

"You have learned a new spell – [Holy Light]." A new notification appeared as a new skill entered the skill slot above Wolfy's [Pack Support].

"A new spell?"

Because of this notification, Mike remembered to check the logs and view the spoils of his attack.

"Pet Level Up : +1 attribute point granted. New Skill learned – [Ferocious Bite]"

Mike quickly put that point to its attack, so it may be of good help the next time around. After that, he checked Wolfy's new skill, [Ferocious Bite]

[Ferocious Bite] – Bite on an enemy and deal damage + bleeding effect. Bleeding effect can be layered.

He was delighted to have his pet level up, but he needed another 600 EXP to level his class to the first echelon. He quickly gave his EXP bar a glance and his jaws almost dropped in shock.

It was filled near the brim, almost full.

"Didn't I only receive 400 EXP? Why is it 800? Is the game bugged?" He murmured out, and viewed the battle log again.

He reviewed the last battle and find out what was wrong.

"Basic Attack Successful!"

"Level 4 Unicorn Warthog slain. 100 EXP earned. Level Suppression ,x4 rewards multiplied to 4."

He saw a series of logs and calculated the total exp earned.

"Since I was suppressed by 4 levels, the EXP rewards should be 400 ? Does the system have a bug?" He exclaimed in surprise. Although he felt lucky to near his advancement, he felt that something was amiss.

"Wait … luck … forest . [Nature Affinity]?!" Mike exclaimed. He revisited the panel and found his passive on cooldown.

Three times in a row!

How hell of a fortune!

"I really have to stay in the wilderness by the least." He inwardly joked. Back when he was a Swordsman he only thought that rangers were the only ones favored by the will of nature.

This perhaps was the cause of the forest being his respawning area, or else he might have had another passive ability compatible to other surroundings.

But he didn't leave immediately. He took a quick glance to his new skill and smiled. It was actually a skill for Healer Jobs, one Mike was compatible.

[Holy Light] , manipulate heavenly light to replenish 50 HP. Scales with level. Cooldown : 10 seconds. Skill Fragment (1/4)

"This luck is terrifying." Mike couldn't help but be amazed. Not only had he tamed a [Summoner Wolf], he also acquired a powerful weapon and a skill fragment!

Although he was a bit depressed for only having a skill fragment appear, it would only be better than nothing. He also couldn't change the fact that this was his first usable Job Skill.

Mike retraced the path back to his cave shelter. Since there was no meat available, he could only grab some fruits hanging lowly about by the trees.

Even though hunger could be disregarded in this game, meat could fill one's energy, which Mike needed now. He was thoroughly exhausted from releasing that unexpected killing strike he landed on the warthog.

On his way back home, he got two [Replenishing Fruit], three [Enlightenment Fruit] and a [Sweet Peach]. He had not gotten any energy – giving fruit and only decided to sleep as to restore his stamina.

Wolfy came down first and circled the bed of leaves before lying down, its head covered in its furry tail.

He also entered the cave and hid the fruits as he took a glance to the time in the game.

2:17 a.m.

That meant it was 1 o'clock dawn and this guy had yet to sleep.

Mike quickly logged out and removed the gaming cap as his avatar's figure also went to doze off. Wiping his cheap black gaming cap, he put it back onto the table and straightened himself before sleeping.

"Tomorrow is best to visit the Guild. I should get a bit more EXP to get that Level 1 coming." Mike slowly mumbled before completely closing his eyes. He was rushing to level up so he could find about his Passive Job Ability and to also qualify for the tournament prerequisites.
