The Light That Illuminated The Forest

Mike rose from his bed and tidied himself up. He grabbed the cap and was once again back to his playing routine. He didn't have to eat as he only had to eat during noontime.

Or , he actually had nothing to eat than those pack of noodles he stole before he was driven to this area.

"Logging in …"

Mike's avatar rose from his bed , followed by Wolfy's yawn as it also went to him.

"Ehehehe, we have no meat Wolfy, but we can hunt for you!" He quickly encouraged the pup, this style was surely to coax him for food.

Hearing this, Wolfy's wag slowed down as it stood away from him.

Mike ignored its reaction and brought the fruits he gathered the night before and put it in his small pouch.

They were relatively small, only the size of a ping pong ball, and fit in his Common Storage Pouch that he acquired upon logging in this game.

It was usually for storing game currencies, but Mike didn't even have a single bronze with him.

"That will do," He simply muttered. He first needed to advance, then earn some, before finally being able to appraise his Holy Ring.

'First things first' was his motto.

However, right after he exited the cave, a Magic Bullet came rushing down his way.

"A Summoner player?!" Mike shouted in disdain. This low – level Magic Bullet was the basic attack of summoners.

Although it could only deal a pitiful amount of damage, the real danger of summoners were the beasts or things they summoned.

And who knew what this Summoner had!

Mike quickly jumped to the right, evading the Magic Bullet and quickly cast [Identify] on her.

However, the data shown surprised Mike.

Player : ?

Level ? (?)

The data revealed nothing!

And that only meant this fiend was sorts of at least Level 5!

Level 5! That was too much trouble!

After firing her bullet, she relentlessly raised her staff and muttered an incantation.

She was summoning something!

Mike was worried. If this woman was a Level 4 or less, he could be less worried, since they only had [Flame Owl] to summon.

However, upon advancing to that Level 5, they would acquire random spells.

And that was what he feared the most.

What if she summoned more dangerous animals?

Mike could only cringe. He knew he had died many times in this game before, but every time he did, he was sure to end up to regret miserably.

He couldn't afford to lose his precious Holy Ring, not now nor tomorrow.

"Since you were ready to kill, you must also be ready to be killed." Mike grinned as his eyes flashed with hate and killing intent.

The Summoner continued in her chant, and later on, she gave rise to a group of [Skeleton Fighters].

She raised her staff and thumped the ground twice, ordering for the pack of bones to attack.

Mike also readied himself, bringing away his right palm and slowly pointed it away to the pack.

However, before he could act, Wolfy suddenly howled deeply and summoned his own pack of spirit wolves, each of them baring its fangs towards the skeletons.

"Ao!"

Wolfy and the pack howled in unison, seemingly taunting the enemy.

She frowned slightly. She knew that spirits were invincible against lowly bones. They could crumble, while this feral spirit pack would revive shortly after being slain.

Meanwhile, Mike already stretched out his right index finger, while he instructed Wolfy to distract the skeletons.

He had never anticipated that Wolfy would be very agitated to act without being told to do so.

Nevertheless, it also made him praise this cute pup.

"Rrr!"

Sounds of grumbling could be heard as Wolfy cast [Ferocious Bite], instantaneously biting wildly with his spirit pack.

Since skeletons did not have blood, the bleeding effect was not triggered but as soon as it bit on their bones, they immediately crumbled.

Crackle!

Another sound rang out as the pile of bones became higher while the other two were in duel.

The Summoner suddenly raised her staff as it glowed with a black evilish hue.

At that time, Mike's ring also glowed with a bright light that illuminated the forest.

The remaining skeletons, upon seeing the light, immediately reduced into ashes as were those that were defeated firstly by Wolfy.

"[Darkness Light]!" Mike suddenly remembered this familiar skill that the woman released.

It was this [Darkness Light] that would poison the target upon contact with the skin, and later caused a permanent reduction of an Endurance attribute point.

"So she must be a … Cursemancer?!" He thought in his own.

Only Cursemancers and Necromancers in the game would be compatible with the trivial [Darkness Light].

And that was the reason why the skeletons she had released earlier where reduced to ashes as they were shone upon by his [Heavenly Light]!

Mike hastily rolled to the left, where Wolfy stood with its pack.

He neatly dodged the dark ray of light as he retaliated with his own light which easily sped to the foe.

"No!" she shouted in disdain as she flailed to evade the attack.

Heavenly Light attacks such as these would instantly destroy here even if she was only touched in her hair!

This was the bane of black magic. Although they had a slight advantage against sturdy classes for their curses, they would flounder on Holy Attacks.

She ran and rolled but the light continued to reach her and hit her back.

"Ah!" she gasped in fright.

She reached for her back with his hand and touched it.

"Ow!" her fingers grew red as she touched Mike's light.

She was successfully hit by a fatal attack that all players of her class feared the most!

However, she seemed not to give up as she reached for her staff which was inches away and grabbed it stealthily.

"Curse you!*!" she shouted as she opened her mouth and a green fog rose from it.

"Poison Fog!"

Mike sped away, but the wind helped the fog to disperse and successfully enveloped his body.

"Level 5 Cursemancer has been slain. Rewards – 150 EXP. Level Suppression x5. Rewards multiplied to 5.

At that very same time, another warning flashed by and appeared right before the first notification.

"You have been poisoned!"

"You have been poisoned!"
