Chapter 6 - Stormterror

Mathis looked up at the 6 winged dragon flying in the sky as it released a roar that echoed through the skies multiple tornadoes began to form throughout the City of Mondstadt. "You should evacuate from the city I'll be going to the Knights of Favonius headquarters to see what I can do." Guy told Mathis as he ran off into the distance. Mathis quickly began making his way out through the side gate. 'I don't have any intention in staying around to get blown away by tornadoes.' Mathis thought as he was running.

Once he was a safe enough distance from the city he looked up and saw a figure gliding through the sky attacking Stormterror. 'This looks much more impressive in person. If I look really closely I'm pretty sure that it's Lumine, but I can't be sure from this distance.' Mathis stood staring at the the sky watching Stormterror fly around as it was attacked by the traveler who was borrowing power from Barbatos. Not long after Stormterror quickly flew off retreating. As he walked back into the city he began to try his best and think of the plot line of the story so he could remember what happened next.

'They'll probably be heading to the temples to destroy Stormterrors crystals.' Mathis entered the city once again as he looked around and noticed that there wasn't as much destruction as he had expected. 'Although those tornadoes that Stormterror summoned are way smaller than the ones back on earth I would expect them to cause more damage than this. Regardless I should focus on what really matters which is finding something to eat.' He thought while he made his way towards Goodhunter. As he had expected no one was currently there so he decided to way until someone got back to the shop.

While he was waiting for someone to arrive he began to count the Mora that Guy had given him. '900 Mora I wonder what I can get with this.' Mathis thought as his stomach grumbled. After a while someone finally arrived and opened up the store again. Mathis walked up to the counter where the waitress was standing. "Hello my name is Sara welcome to Goodhunter. How can I help you?" Sara asked. "Can I see what you have available on your menu." Mathis responded after he said this Sara handed him a menu and as he looked at it he couldn't help but frown.

'I already knew I was but the realization hits hard. I'm poor.' He thought as he looked through the menu. 'This slice of bread with some tomato sauce and onions on it cost 1,000 mora. A 2 pieces of bacon cost 720 mora.' As Mathis looked through the menu he found something that didn't cost much but could relieve his hunger. "I'll have 2 Chicken Mushroom Skewers please." "That will cost you a total of 900 mora." Mathis handed her the money and after a short period of time his food was made. "Here is you order. I'm surprised that there's a customer so soon after the Stormterror attack and a new one as well." Sara said while handing him his food.

"I've recently arrived at Mondstadt and I was just hungry that's all." Mathis responded. Sara looked at him and sighed "Business has really taken a turn for the worse ever since Stormterror started trouble no ones ever in the mood to eat. But I suppose that's normal. I just hope that all this will be over as soon as possible." Mathis said goodbye to Sara as he walked away.

Mathis began wandering Mondstadt as he took a bite of the Chicken Mushroom Skewer. 'I may be homeless and poor, but it doesn't change the fact that this tastes really good.' He thought as he continued eating. 'Seeing Stormterror makes me want to get involved in the story even more than before. What's the point of being in Genshin if I don't see the world and meet the characters. Although I guess I shouldn't think of them as characters when I meet all these people who were NPCs before they're the same as normal people with lives and goals.' Mathis walked the streets distracted by his thoughts.

'I can think about this stuff later what I should be worried about it there fact that I'm back to square one in terms of mora. Maybe I should see if there are any more commissions to do.' Mathis looked up and found that he had wandered all the way to the Statue of Barbatos. As he began to head towards the adventurers guild he looked at the Knights of Favonius headquarters and noticed a blonde girl with a small child floating next to her walking out. He sighed and continued making his way towards the adventurers guild with a single thought in his mind. 'It isn't easy living in Teyvat, but I'm excited for the future.'
