Chapter 8 - Church of Favonius

After Mathis finished destroying the barricade and cleaning up he began to walk back to Mondstadt. As he was walking he thought back to the fight that has just occurred. 'Those Mitachurls are way too annoying to deal with. They're way more annoying than those archers that's for sure. Honestly thinking back to when I first arrived here this body definitely wasn't always this strong and athletic. I'm also pretty sure that it's not that easy to learn how to use a weapon this quickly without any prior training. After all it's only been a day since I came out of that room and it doesn't feel like I was there for long. Although that place obviously isn't normal maybe it does something to my body or maybe this body was like this when I got sent here to Teyvat by who knows what.'

Mathis sighed and put those thoughts away. 'No point in a thinking about stuff that I have no way to get answers for. I should focus on doing the things I want to do and staying alive in the process.' A smile appeared on his face as he continued walking back to the City of Mondstadt. After a while of walking he finally arrived and made his way into the city and head straight to the church to get his arm fixed.

As he walked inside he was surprised at how beautiful the inside of the church was. The massive chandeliers were hanging from the ceilings and the light was entering from the patterned colored glass from the windows. The tiles on the floors were so clean you could see your reflection on them. As he looked up ahead he saw a nun standing in between some seats in front of a pillar.

Mathis walked up to her and asked "Hello is the deaconess of the church here today?" She quickly responded with "What for?" "Well I heard that the deaconess of the church can heal injuries. While I was out doing a task for the Adventurers Guild I broke my arm and got cut across the side of my face." He answered. "I'll go and get her now so wait here for now. Mathis nodded his head and took a seat as the nun walked off.

Not too long after the Nun returned, but next to her this time was a girl with ash blonde hair tied in pigtails, and blue eyes. As they approached Mathis heard the girl whisper "Sister Victoria is he the one that is injured." The nun who's name seemed to be Victoria responded with a yes. When they finally reached him the blonde girl soon spoke and said "Hello my name is Barbara I'm the deaconess of the church, I heard you were injured and in need of help as the deaconess it's my duty to help those in need." She said with a smile. Mathis by responded thanking her "Thank you for your kindness deaconess." After he said that Barbara replied saying it was no problem at all and began to heal him.

Mathis watched as she summoned large droplets of water shaped as music notes that began to shower him in light. Soon the wound on his cheek began to disappear as if it were never there at all and he could feel his arm again and move it around like normal. 'Her healing is amazing it feels like I was never injured at all.' He thought as he stretched his arm once again. After thanking Barbara once again he made his way out of the church with a smile on his face.

'It's time to get my hard earned money.' Mathis thought as he quickly walked towards the Adventurers Guild. When he arrived he spoke with Katheryne and told her that he had completed the task. "The Adventurers Guild thanks you for your hard work here is your reward of 5,000 mora." Mathis felt like the words she had just said were music to his ears. "It was no problem at all if there any more problems that come up that the adventurers guild needs to be dealt with you can

always tell me." Mathis said as he began walking away holding the bag of mora in his hand tightly.

He walked around until he found a bench sat down and began to count the mora. 'Exactly 5,000 mora like she said this wasn't easy to get after all I broke an arm for this.' Soon after thinking this Mathis began to think back to the scene of Barbara healing him. 'Even though we both use the power of water I can feel a difference between what her vision does and what my abilities do. Thinking about it I should be more creative with my abilities.'

Mathis sat up straight and summoned a ball of water. He first tried to see if he could move it around without physically doing so. He attempted this for a good 15 minutes but failed horribly. Next he tried making moulding the water into basic shapes and then he tried his best to make a small shark. 'It would be cool if I could create some water sharks and make them attack from a distance or even explode.' He looked up at the sky and saw that it was already dark out. 'Today was a long day and it looks like I got too engrossed in what I was doing. I hope good hunter isn't closed.' As he was thinking this Mathis made his way towards Good Hunter.

As he arrived he was glad to see the shop was still open, but seeing how it was dark outside he felt it would be closing soon. He soon placed an order and sat down at the table while waiting for his food. 'Tomorrow I'll go out and look for treasure or some ruins that might have treasure in them.' As he leaned back onto the chair he was sitting on and looked up at the sky he was already looking forward to the next day.
