'My princess, I will protect you with all I have unlike the last time I could not' Yang was daydreaming until he heard a melodious voice that he loved from his beloved

- back to present -

"Do you want to order first?" Yang asked

"Mm sure, what do you want though?" Xiu Ying asked

"I am fine with anything" Yang said

But after he said that, she remembered he loved steak especially when he could drink very light alcohol with it

(A/N: in China legal drinking age was 18 and he never skipped grades because I don't know I just made them not skip school XD)

Xiu Ying picked up the menu the waiter left beforehand and found that they had a best seller steak that most customers loved so she decided to order the steak, baked potatoes, tofu soup, and chicken caesar salad with tomatoes and corn with dressing

"I'm ready to order Yang, how do we call the waiter?" Xiu Ying asked but not even a minute after a waiter knocked on the door

Yang pressed the button which called the nearest waiter in

"Hello sir and ma'am, what would you like to order?" the waiter asked very professionally

"steak, baked potatoes, tofu soup, and chicken caesar salad with tomatoes and corn with dressing" Xiu Ying said while pausing for a second to see what drink she would like as she isn't an alcohol fan

The waiter asked, "what drinks would you like?"

Xiu Ying replied, "green tea, nothing else, thanks" just like Yang, she does not like to talk to much but unlike him, she knows when to say thanks and proper manners but Yang treasures his words so much that people are just content with him even sparing them a word or two

(that is how much he treasures words except to Xiu Ying and sometimes his sister and buddies aka his friends that has yet to make an appearance)

The waiter remembered everything she ordered, bowed and left

"You still remembered?" Yang widen his eyes because he knows although Xiu Ying is fine with eating steak, she would prefer eating duck or chicken

"Of course, you are the one who always initiates these da- I mean dinners so I should let you have one of your favorite foods since you even waited and came straight from the office" Xiu Ying said smiling while cursing herself for almost saying the word date

"Do you consider these dinners dates Xiao Ying?" Yang said happily that she thinks so as well since he heard the slip-up even with a hint of mischief in his voice

"Uh uh" Xiu Ying stuttered thinking he was joking about courting her and blushing

"Sorry, I only thought so because you said you were courting me but I should've known you were joking" Xiu Ying said looking down

Yang widened his eyes surprised she thought that way and got anxious so quickly said

"No no, I am courting you Xiao Ying and I will keep doing so until I have your heart fully. Do not think I joke about this pr- Xiao Ying" Yang said

Yang also sad that he still can't call Xiu Ying princess, my love, beloved and all the nicknames before but he promised himself that he would get Xiu Ying back

"So yes, all these dinners were dates" Yang finished saying and smiled a sincere one

Xiu Ying just smiled really brightly for the first one in a while

Both started talking comfortably about even the most random things even though normally neither would waste time talking, at that moment they let themselves loose and just "waste" their words

(A/N: geez for us normal humans your conversations are normal, *sigh* Xiu Ying and Yang are not normal haha but in a good way)

While they were talking, the waiter knocked on the door and they both stopped talking while Yang called out "come in" in his normal cold voice, completely different from the warm doting voice he used on Xiu Ying

The waiter came in, put down the pot of green tea and cup, poured green tea into the cup, bowed and left

Before he left he say both nodding at him as a sign of thanks

Xiu Ying picked up the cup to try the green tea and not to her surprise, it was really good

"Mm taste good. Not surprised since I checked their ratings before and people seem to enjoy their teas" Xiu Ying said

Yang was watching throughout and noticing so far she enjoys this place that he is willing to invest unless last minute she does not like their food

After a while, the waiter came again with all the dishes, set them, bowed and left getting the jest that he does not need to speak unless spoken too

"Ooo all the food looks yummy!" Xiu Ying said, showing her childish side that she had in high school up until she took over Li Empire which she turned herself into an independent, cold, strong woman

Yang smiled seeing her childish side, missing it as she always used to show him this side when they were together

"Start eating Xiao Ying" Yang said

"You too" Xiu Ying said and they both started eating while at some times Yang put food on Xiu Ying plate

- after 30 minutes -

"You done?" Yang asked while putting down his napkin

"Mhm" Xiu Ying replied, also putting down her napkin

"I will help pay since you waited for me!" Xiu Ying said while going to pressed the button and although Yang didn't say anything he knew she can not pay since he made sure to give them his card to charge everything too knowing Xiu Ying was an independent woman and although he loved that side of her, he also loved her past self when she depended on him as well so he decided to make sure that Xiu Ying started getting into her old habit again because he loved it
