The next murder

They put Elysian on the bed and covered him with a blanket. Ji Chang gave him the injections he had prepared and after having dinner, all of them sat near Elysian waiting for him to wake up.

"He look even more paler now", Crystal said with a worried expression.

" You are right. But we can get to know about his actual condition once he wakes up.", Ji Chang said.

They were having a talk just then Ji Chang's dog; Oliver brought a small uprooted plant holding it in his mouth.

"Oliver, you again uprooted a plant. What enmity do you have with these innocent creatures? Now even if I plant them, they'll wither.", Chris said frowning.

" Leave him alone Chris, he's also an innocent creature", Jennifer said chuckling.

All of them laughed but suddenly Crystal's expression changed. Her eyes widened," If a plant is uprooted then it'll wither even when planted again... How can I be se stupid??? It was in front of my eyes the whole time yet I was wondering where it could be hidden...", she said running towards the door.

They all looked at each other confused and suddenly all the eyes were upon Jonathan. Unable to process what just happened, he blankly looked at them. "What?", he asked.

Ji Chang lifted his eye brows and both Chris and Jennifer sighed.

" Ohh... ah.. yes, I was about to go accompany her", he grabbed the car keys and ran.

Crystal was going inside for the keys when she realised that she forgot the keys inside.

"At your service, ma'am", Jonathan said jokingly.

" Come let's go to Melissa's house.I know where the necklace is.", she said.

Upon reaching, Crystal hopped out of the car and ran straight to the backyard garden and Jonathan followed. She saw the cardinal plant it almost died because the roots didn't went deep into the soil for the plant to survive.

She then removed it and started digging the soil. After digging for sometimes they found a wooden box. They opened it and saw the necklace in it. Without wasting any time, they took it and left the house.

When they reached to Ji Chang's house it was already past midnight.

"Did he woke up?", Crystal asked as soon as she saw Jennifer.

" No, he didn't ", Jennifer replied sighing.

" It'll take time for the effects of those drugs to run out.", Ji Chang said.

"C'mon, until then we should have a look at this.", he showed them the necklace.

" Look at a necklace?", Chris said confused..

"Its a pen drive, Chris", Jennifer told him holding his hand.

Inside that pen drive was information about three orphanages.

And a folder named 'subjects' was also made having nearly 300 names.

All 5 of them were confused what to do with the names. " What's with these names? All of that digging just for these names? Was she planning to open an Orphanage too?", Jonathan said frowning.

"I don't know either. But she had hidden this thing so there must be something important in here.", Crystal said biting her lower lips.

" I said not to contact me.", Jack said as soon as he picked up the call.

"I know but a problem occured. They found out that something was wrong with his medications and took him away from the hospital.", the doctor said

" You only had one job, dammit... ", he said furiously.

" They'll also find me seen. Help me...", she pleaded.

"Okay send me your location and I'll make sure they won't find you...", he said and cut the call. " Alive", he continued. And his expression darkened.

The next morning, Jonathan woke up first and saw 6 missed calls from his colleague, Asher.

He called him back and asked if everything's alright.

"A woman has been murdered brutally near a hospital.", Asher said.

" I'm on my way. Share your location", Jonathan said as he ran to his car and sped towards the spot.

Upon reaching, he saw that besides being stabbed, the murderer had also poured acid upon the body distorting her face and making it unable for anyone to recognize her.

"We'll send the body for forensic examination first",Asher said and Jonathan nodded.

Jonathan suddenly noticed a tire mark on the small pool of mud on the side of the road and took pictures. " The hospital in which Elysian was admitted isn't far away from here. What if the doctor who was treating hem is murdered...", he went to the hospital as soon as this thought came into his mind.

"I'm a police officer and my name is Jonathan. Can you please call Miss. Louie, I've something urgent to ask her.", he said to the receptionist.

" But she resigned yesterday night saying her mother's health wasn't good and went to see her.", she replied.

"What was she wearing when she left the hospital?", he asked.

The receptionist thought for a while and said," Maybe something floral..."

"Thank you for the cooperation", he said and left for Ji Chang's home.

" Where did you went this early?", Ji Chang asked him yawning.

"Someone murdered the doctor.", he said.

" What are you saying???", Ji Chang's eyes widened.

"I know, right. We could have saved her. Whoever did this, killed her in a brutal way", Jonathan said sighing.

" I'll go check if anyone named Louie boarded any flight today or yesterday.", Jennifer said and picking up the keys.

"It's of no use. If they really are planning something big, they must've fabricated the evidences and someone instead of Louie must've boarded the flight.", Crystal said.

And Chris and Jonathan nodded in agreement.

" I think it'll be good to call Ryan", Crystal suggested.

Upon hearing his name, Jonathan's brows furrowed. "You mean we aren't intelligent enough to solve this case?", he asked.

" What I mean is we could use all the help.", she said.

"I don't trust him.", Jonathan said in a cold voice.

While they were arguing, they heard something fell down from Elysian's room. All of them rushed to see what's going on and saw Elysian trying to sit up.

Chris immediately ran for his help and placed a pillow against the wall gor him to lean against it.

All of them circled around his bed waiting for him to speak. Elysian was looking at the unfamiliar room trying to remember where he was. Upon seeing Crystal, his eyes widened.

"Don't worry, Elysian. You're safe", Crystal said.

He looked at others to confirm what she said was true and all of them nodded.

He sighed with relief.

"I'll bring him water",Jennifer went to the kitchen.

Ji Chang brought some medical apparatus to check Elysian's blood pressure and pulse rate.

After making sure that everything is fine, he told others that they can interrogate him.

But warned them not to give him any kind of stress.

" Guys, let me go in. ", Crystal said. And the three of them agreed.
