The suspect's death

She knocked at the door before entering the room.

"Come in please.", Elysian spoke.

She went inside and closed the door. Smiling, she handed him a cup of coffee she brought for him. " I'm sorry you've to go through all these". she said.

"Do you know everything?", He asked taking the cup.

" No, not everything. But we found addictive drugs in your blood. And looking at your condition, I can imagine it would've been so tough.", she said.

"You can't even imagine what I went through these past days, officer." he said.

"While you were in the hospital, we dig up some information about you.", she said holding the papers.

" I would like to know what you found out.", he said. " But before that, tell me one reason why would I trust you?", he narrowed his eyes.

"I'm a police officer and I'm here to help you.", she said.

" You said this before helping that doctor also.", he said.

"Look, we're investigating a case that involves mysterious kidnappings. And that man who was with you in the hotel's parking lot, is a suspect in that case. And, I saw someone's shadow near your room's door so to avoid any suspicions I let the doctor do her work.", she explained.

" Who knows if you all are really helping me...", he said.

"IF WE WANTED YOU TO DIE, YOU WOULD'VE TURNED INTO A DEAD MEAT TILL NOW,", she said slamming her hand on the bed.

He thought for a moment and said," It's really hard for me to trust you guys. But I am left with no choice. You're what I have now. Trusting you means gambling my life. I hope you understand.", he said with a look of despair.

"I understand. Trust me, we'll escort you back safely.", she said.

" That's not what I want. At first, I thought it'll be safe for me if I'll return back, but whenever I escaped, they got me no matter where I go. There is someone who is telling them about my every move. The things they did to me made it clear that they wanted me to die.", Elysian said looking into Crystal's eyes.

"What about your family? I mean is there someone who will be profited if you'll die?", she asked.

" I'm an orphan.", he said and the silence followed.

"Well let's hear what information you got about me", he said.

"Well, your name is Elysian Thorns. Owner of a perfume empire in Australia and that's why no one knows you in this foreign land. You live alone and we didn't know about your family. You came here for business purpose", She said.

" Mm, correct. I own a perfume empire in Australia and wanted to open it's franchise here so I came here to sign a contract with a man named Nicholas. But when I came here, I found out that he wasn't a business man. He lured me here on someone else's order.", he told her.

"If you're here, then who is managing your business on your behalf?", she asked.

" I'm also dying to know that.", his eyes filled with anger.

"Hmm... Okay, take some rest and in the meantime, I'll discuss this with others and later we'll have a discussion.", she stood and left.

When she went out, she saw Chris and Jonathan in the backyard practicing shooting with their service pistols. Chris's aim was perfect but Jonathan's aim missed everytime.

"Jonathan, you're really being defeated by your junior???", Crystal mocked him.

" I think something is wrong with my pistol. it's trigger is jammed.", he said and put it in a cupboard.

"So, what did he said?", Chris asked.

And Crystal told them everything Elysian told her.

" He's also an orphan...", Ji Chang said.

"You noticed it too, Dr. Park", Jonathan said.

" Yes. I did.", Ji Chang replied.

All four of them looked intently at him. Then he realized what was going on. "So, you know about me." he said.

"All of us do.", Jennifer replied.

Ji Chang glared at Chris and Chris threw his arms up saying," hey, I haven't told them anything."

"It's not important who told us. We need you to tell us why do you got suspended?", Crystal questioned.

" I refused to change my statement.", he replied.

"Who asked you to change it?" Jonathan asked.

"I don't know. I got a call over telephone the night before the press conference. But I refused and in the morning, I found out that all of them changed their statements. And I got fired for misleading the police.", Ji Chang said.

"I'm getting a feeling that someone in a powerful position is involved in this case.", Chris said.

" We need you to help us solve this case.",Jennifer said to Ji Chang.

While they were talking, Crystal got a phone call from the police station saying that Nicholas agreed to confess. And without wasting a second, she rushed to the station.

Nicholas was having lunch inside his cell. "Welcome, officer.", he said smirking. She waited for him to finish his meal. When he was done, he asked her for a glass of water.

Staring at him, she passed him the glass and sat on the chair in front of him.

" Say, what you want to confess", her voice was cold.

"I called you because they didn't let me meet my family. I want you to convey my message to them. I regret doing bad things in my life but I did it for my family, to give them a luxurious life. And even if I die, I'll make sure it's worth dying for them.", he said.

" Stop speaking nonsense and confess", she shouted at him.

"You'll never be able to solve this case officer. You all are nothing but a bunch of fools.", he said mocking.

Crystal was about to say something when suddenly he coughed blood.

Her eyes widened seeing blood coming out of his nostrils and mouth.

She screamed for help and soon Nicholas was sent to hospital where he was declared dead.

It seemed as if he died during Crystal's interrogation. She was asked to prepare for the court trial and was suspended temporarily.

When her team mates heard about Nicholas's death, they rushed to the hospital. Jonathan called Ryan and told him what had happened.

Ryan also came to the hospital and went straight to Crystal. "What have you done?", he asked.

" I haven't done anything. I was just interrogating him. And suddenly he...", she was cut in middle by Jennifer.

"Mam, the autopsy report came."
