Another Attack

I wake up by the warm kiss on my lips. Reflexively, I return the kiss, not even caring to open my eyes first. You maybe boring to read this, but her lips are really delicious. She giggles to have my reaction.

"Good morning, Handsome," she whispers and kisses me again.

"Morning, Beautiful," I whisper to her back, playfully bite her nose.

"How's your sleep ?" She asks, putting kisses all over my face. Her scent intrigues my nose.

Instead of answering her, I round my arm around her waist to pull her closer and my other hand leading her head to guide her lips back to mine. She lets go of her kiss. "Hey.. you haven't answered me," she demands me.

"It was good," I kiss her eyes. "But the best part is to be awaken by your kisses," I add before continue kissing her.

While our lips munch to each other, I roll my body to be on top of her. Slowly, I move my kisses to her ear that makes her giggles, then go down to her neck, softly sucking her nook, leave a pink mark there. She sighs, rubbing my chest in return.

"What's this ?!" she suddenly says, taking her fist between our eyes.

When she opens her hand, she screams in fear to see a scorpion on her palm. I try to swipe it away. The scorpion, instead of running away, looking at me directly into my eyes then jumps on to my head and pierces me,

"AAAAAAAARGH !!!" I shout in pain, feeling its poison bursting into my brain. I hold my head with both of my arms while I can feel my body starts to cramp.

"Babe.. Baby! Wake up, Babe !" Jennifer's voice leaking to my painful brain. I can also feel her hands are rocking my body. "Are you okay ?" A vivid worry laces in her tone, but there is no fear in it. isn't she afraid of the scorpion ?

I open my eyes and jump to wake up, ignoring my headache. "Where is it ?!" I ask while ravaging my bed.

"What .. What are you looking for, Babe ?" Jennifer asks me in panic.

"The scorpion !! One that bit me !! Is it gone ?!?! Are you okay ? Are you bitten ?!" I ask her back.

"What scorpion ? There is no scorpion..," Jennifer says in confused.

"There was a scorpion on your fist.. when we kisses.. you showed it to.. me.." My words become more and more slow and unsure when I see Jennifer's face becomes confused. "There was no scorpion ?" I finally ask her.

She shakes her head. "No.."

"We weren't kissing ?"

"No. I was just walking out of bathroom when I heard you screamed," she answers me. "Are you okay ?"

"Yeah.. yeah, sure," I say. I glance my sight all over the bed, to make sure for the last time that there is no scorpion there. "I was dreaming," I murmur to my self, shaking my head couple of times to reduce the headache.

"What was your dream ?" She asks in curiosity.

"I.. I was bitten by a.. scorpion," I answer hesitantly. Jennifer chuckles, as a result of holding back her laughter.

"Sorry.. it's not funny," she quickly apologizes, "I don't know why I laughed." She then coughs before approaching me. "Where did it bite ?" she ask, "Was it here ?" she gropes my crotch then laughs, this time doesn't even bother to hide it.

I need to kiss her just to stop her from laughing. "You will regret laughing at me," I threat her playfully then push her on the bed.

"O yeah ? What are you going to do to me ?" She asks boldly. Her eyes shine in full expectation as she bites her lower lip.

"I'm gonna make you late.. very late," I respond to her before begin to crawl on top of her and starts kissing her.

"Oh, shit !! I really can't be late today !" she shouts in regret, holding my chest to prevent me from kissing her. "I have trial this morning," she continues, peck my lips and crawls out of my sandwich.

"I'll ride you," I tell her, slowly stands up from the bed.

"No. I have my car now. I can drive by my self," she refuses me while her hands already busy choosing an outfit from my wardrobe. "Beside, you need a lot of rest," she adds.

"I'm feeling better already," I say to her. I really am. My hips doesn't hurt as much as last night.

"Still.. you need to rest to fully recover," she insists. I pout, but doesn't argue her anymore. I just watch her getting ready.

Ten minutes later, she gives me a quick kiss. "I will make it up tonight, okay ?" she whispers. I kiss her back. "It's a promise."

----------

I put down my paper cup of coffee on the table and yawn. I feel like have been forever sitting on this bench, but when I glance to my watch, it is not even ten minutes since I arrived here. I sigh.

Waiting is always a part of my job. I can easily wait for hours to have the perfect moment to put a bullet to my targets, I also usually wait for days to secretly observe them. So waiting for another 5 minutes is supposed to be a no problem for me. 9:30 AM is the agreed time for an errand of my client to meet me. As usual, I always come 15 minutes early.

But, I don't know, today is a little bit different. Everything seems ... slower in my sight. The elevator in my building, the vehicles and pedestrians on streets, the coffee shop waiter, even now.. people who pass by and talk. They all move a bit slower. Not like a slow motion slow, but like.. dragging. It irritates me. But when everything is like that, then the problem is with me, not with them.

I sigh again. Maybe Jennifer was right. I should rest more. But I can't postpone this matter. My client needs to end the transaction as soon as possible. Me being missing for twelve days had made him nervous. That is why I needed to get out of the medical facility back then. I needed to contact my client, telling him that everything is successfully done.

A man walks slowly approaching me. When he walks a meter away from me, his hand grabs his pocket to take a piece of paper. Right when he is in front of me, I quickly take the paper that he hands over to me slowly. This man is really.. I curse him inwardly. It's supposed to be done secretively.

When the man is gone, I open the small piece of paper. It contains two lines of digits. 32 and 091266. I remember the last line of digits is the birth date of my client. I smirk before I stand and toss the paper away to trash bin next to me along with my cup of coffee.

I walk to the direction where the man came. About a hundred feet later, I arrive at a locker area of this train station. I search locker number 32 and enter the password. The locker's door is opened immediately. Inside, there is a big suitcase. Its height is right below my waist. I take it out from the locker and bring it to the restroom.

In the restroom, I open it. Its content makes me smile widely. Piles and piles of a hundred dollar, worth of two millions dollar in total. Everyone's hard works have been payed. My phone is ringing.

"Yes," I answer the call.

"Boss, you need to come here. I catch the culprit," Bob reports to me.

----------

"Where is he ?" I ask once I get to where Bob is. As far as my eyes can see, there is no one there beside Bob and couple of his men.

"I'm.. I'm sorry. Boss.. he.. he got away," Bob answers me in stammered.

"What ?!?! How could yoi let him get away ?!" I ask in disbelieve.

"We.. we caught him then cuffed him with plastic strap. Then.. then I called you while I told my men to look after him. He asked my man to take him to that alley to pee. But then he attacked him and disappeared," Bob reports to me full of fear.

"You meant he ran away ? To where direction ?" I ask.

"N..Noo no no, Boss," One of Bob's man speaks up, "He disappeared.. like puff.. gone."

"Puff.. gone ?" I mimic his words and movements, flicking my fingers in front of my chest when saying 'puff'.

"Yeah.. he throw something and smoke was surrounding him. Then.. he's gone," the man confirms. I

sigh heavily. This man is already beaten up. I'm not sure by that culprit or Bob. I turn my head to Bob.

"What did he do ?" I ask.

"Rio told me there was someone unusual at parking lot. So, I came with him to check it out. There I found the culprit under Ms. McCourtney's car. He fought us back and tried to escape. but I put a bullet on his stomach," Bob explains.

"I.. I found a plastic bomb stuck under the car," the man who was beaten up continues, "But it haven't been triggered. We also have the trigger remote," he shows me a small rounded dark grey box.

"Have you managed to take the bomb off ?" I ask Bob.

"We are waiting for Angelo to come. We called him and he asked us not to touch it. He was afraid if we did something wrong, the bomb would explode," Bob answers me.

"Get a tow truck and get the car out of here immediately," I order him.
