We made sure everything was packed up, we would travel about a week following the herd. All the migrations paths had areas broke down enough with to allow wagons to go through the areas. Between the herds going through the areas twice a year and the humans that follow them back the areas never seemed to get to over grown.

I always enjoyed the travel it was the only time I really got to go ride my horse. I never gave her name since I only road when we were traveling and following the migrations, but most who had horses didn't name them because they die eventually and once you name something you get attached to it.

My horse is dark brown with black at it hooves and around its mouth and nose and has black main. I have been with the tribe for about 7 years now and it'll be a full 7 this winter and I have had 3 horses since I first arrived. Most horses are useful and won't survive for more then 3 or 4 years. This is caused by a number of things between always being outside and normally being tied when they are outside and only be road every now and again and when they are they normally are also pulling something with a decent amount of weight, it causes them to get injured and sick. That's why you never name your horse, another reason is you won't be able to kill it once your attached and if the animal is sick or injured and in pain it's going to die so you need to be able to put it down and out of its misery. People sometimes also run out of meat in the winter and the conditions are to bad to go out and hunt so they kill one if their horses, they need it for food. Most human and dragons when it comes to their life or a creatures life will choose their own over the creatures and even sometimes over other people in their tribe or clan.

Dragons are more loyal than humans normally though, they would die for others in their clan. My brother probed that.

The week of traveling is long and exhausting for a lot of people as the low class people in our tribe don't all have horses. We lead the migrations we are best trackers since we are the only ones who are trained, but herds move day and night and only rest a few hours so we tend to fall behind since we stop and rest for longer. Meeting up with the other tribes at the herds meet up tend to be a good thing though. It makes it so we in a bigger group so we have to move slower and it's harder to lose us for those who get tired and don't have horses. We are also a little loud sometimes.

I guess I'm lucky that I had the leader and head lady as the people who took me in. I don't always feel lucky when it comes to them being the people who have raised me since I was 8 though. I already knew a lot about the world and they told me a lot of things that were very religion driven and weren't actually true. There is a lot humans don't understand but pretend like they do.

The trip is long and we cross many miles to go from inland to closer to the shore we would cover more than a thousands miles within a week. We didn't eat very much during the week either because fall behind the herd on the first night and from there we are tracking and there isn't much time stop to go searching for food. The first day we are close enough to I hunt and the second day we can still have a group ride ahead and hunt and bring food back but by the end of the second night we are to far behind to have people even ride that far ahead because we rest every night for at about 10 hours as that's when the sun is down and it's to dangerous to travel in the dark. The herd doesn't have that problem since they have all adapted to the dark and how to move in the dark. They only stop for about an hour during the day for food and water then continue making it so we fall much farther behind than we like. The fifth day we normally travel into the night until it's to dark to see anything then we rest and we will leave the minute we see light, but we won't rest during the day once we fall behind so the only time we stop is at night and that's when we drink, eat, and rest. We start doing this to catch up with the herd more so that way we can hunt. We become driven by hunger.

I truly don't know why the humans don't want to just keep up with the herd to begin with that way people aren't driven by hunger and aren't starving. I guess that's how the weak and strong become separated because the lower classes often have people that are dying off or get ill during the travel since they had less food to begin with and have to walk.

Humans are big about classes and having power over others. They don't really seem to like to see anyone as equals, even the other leaders compete to see who has more money's dm can afford better outfits and jewelry for there wife and female children. They also compete on who's better hunter and trackers and archers when it comes to their sons.

I don't understand it, but it always makes it so they try harder to make me have nice outfits and jewelry even though we make a lot of it ourselves. That's why my dresses are more than one color, because most others can't afford more than one color let alone a color of fabric that would need a dye. My spring celebration dress is very impressive as it's 3 colors and then I also have colors of frantic that I put into my hair and can also put in my flower crown if I would want to. I also had somethings special to add to it for when we meant with all of the clans at the breeding ground for that celebration. I had jewelry to add to it to show we had money and were high in the tribes.

On our travel I noticed a few dragons flying around. Normally they don't fly low enough that you can see them without really looking though. It seemed weird but nobody else really seemed to notice, after all they were always there but the only difference is that we could see them and some of them were fighting with each other.

It was a fight for territory and no dragon is dumb enough or has enough of a death wish to fight high up in the sky because if they start to fall the impact will kill them so it's easier to fight closer to the ground because they don't have to fly then and if they fall it won't be enough to kill them although it'll decently hurt.

The humans didn't understand they weren't from the same tribe they always make comments about how the dragons are sparing or playing with each other when they see these kinda of things. They don't realize it's real and it normally is a fight to the death. Just another thing to add to the list of things they don't know.

We got closer to the breeding grounds and time seemed to slow down. The days seemed to be longer but the night went by about the same. We all were hungry and it was only going to become worse as we would start traveling long and using more energy. It is that way until we reach the site where we can set up our huts and truly get a chance to hunt and collect berries to eat.
