Allison's Rebellion

Arriving to town, Alexander was forced to resume his newcomer act. Meaning that as someone not currently enrolled in highschool, he wouldn't know where it was. So at the next red light, he turned over to Allison and asked her.

" Where do I go?"

" ..."

Nothing, she didn't respond, so he repeated the question albeit louder.

" Allison, where do I go?"

" Huh, oh, um, take a right up ahead and then a left, sorry I spaced out for a bit."

Rather than continuing driving to the school, Alexander parked nearby so they could talk.

" You okay? If it's what about what I said earlier, I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have shared that with you. Please don't let my jaded mindset poison your own."

" No, that's not it at all, I'm actually grateful that you told me. Because honestly, I've had those same thoughts, it's just that I was too afraid to ever say them aloud."

Alexander remained quiet not saying a word, seeing as it was clear that she wanted to vent.

" When I was little, I really appreciated the fact that my family was always together. I could never imagine not having my father around, so when his job made him move I was glad to tag along. That was until I realized that while other kids my age got to have friends, and play with those friends, I couldn't because we'd soon leave. After a while I just resigned myself to that fact, why get close to people, if I'm only going to leave and forget about them?"

At this point, Allison was almost at the brink of tears but somehow managed to stave them off as she continued.

" I couldn't tell my parents how I felt because they were surprisingly never home. Isn't that ironic, we constantly moved all around the country to stay together, but we never were. Dad was always preoccupied with his work and mom was always looking for a distraction. Leaving me to endure quietly, following their rules and being the good daughter they wanted me to be."

As she uttered that final line, two crystalline tears dropped from her delicate brown eyes.

" I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said any of that, I'm sure you didn't want to hear some random girl vent out her feelings to you. I just lost control of myself and I-"

Not allowing her to continue apologizing, Alexander leaned over and tightly embraced her. He could feel her thin frame trembling and soon enough soft sobbing followed.

" It's alright, I'm here for you."

He softly whispered into her ear, garnering a series of thank you's from her in between her crying.

" T-thank you.."

Alexander meanwhile was relishing in his acting and manipulating skills.

' Sometimes I even amaze myself, to think my plan would progress so much in such a short amount of time. At this rate the bronze key will be within my grasp sooner than I expected.'

The dreadfully tense atmosphere inside the car lasted just awhile longer. It might've ended sooner had Alexander spoken up, but it was in his best interest to let things be as they were. He couldn't play the part of knight in shining armor if Allison wasn't pleading to be rescued.

" I'm okay now, thanks."

She whispered, her voice still somewhat shaken but gone was her frustration and sorrow.

" Are you sure?"

Slowly pulling away from her, Alexander asked just to be sure she was really okay.

" Yeah, I don't think I could cry anymore even if I wanted to honestly."

" Alright."

Giving her a slight nod, he let her go, although not before slipping her phone out of her back pocket. She wasn't aware that he did that, as he right away changed the conversation back to his earlier point.

" Do you still want me to drive you to school? If you'd like I could use a guide through Beacon Hills."

" I should go, besides don't you remember that I just moved here too?"

" That's right, guess I'll just have to go exploring the town by myself then. Hey, now that I think about it, at what time does school start?"

" 8:15 why?"

" Because it's 8:13 right now."

" Seriously?! How did it become so late?"

" Well you did spend quite some time cryi- I mean, who knows?"

Midway through that sentence Alexander felt a cold chill down his spine, so he very intelligently corrected himself.

" What I do know is that you won't be late, not on my watch. Oh, right, hold on, this isn't going to be a smooth ride."

" O-okay!"

" Here we go!"

Pulling out of his parking space, Alexander's Aston Martin looked to take a second to warm up right before it raced down the road. It didn't end there, as driving through a town meant he had to maneuver around other cars and even pedestrians. Not only feasible but rather easy, due to to his supernatural instincts and reaction speed.

Alexander's lips soon twisted into a smug grin, unable to contain his excitement as he flawlessly drove through the packed streets.

' Heh, too easy.'

Obviously Allison's sentiment on his driving were nowhere near the same. Noted by how she would repeatedly yell for him to slow down or watch out for bystanders.

" Too fast! We're going too fast! Xander, slow down! Watch out for that, old lady!"

All of which fell on deaf ears, as Alexander was confident in his driving. To the point of completely disregarding traffic lights, simply blowing right past them. Reckless driving indeed but to Allison's surprise they did reach the school unharmed and on time. Leading to her releasing a long sigh of relief while simultaneously leaning back on her seat.

" You seem tired."

" Who wouldn't after something like that? I honestly thought we'd crash several times during the ride over."

" But we didn't. Isn't that what matters, besides should you really be relaxing right now?"

Immediately after looking at the time, Allison grabbed her bag and got out of his car.

" Thanks for the ride, and for listening to me. I have to go but-"

" Don't worry about it, now go, don't let all my reckless driving go in vain. We'll talk later, aren't we neighbors."

" Yeah, you're right. See you later neighbor."

Closing the door, she hesitated for a split second but ultimately walked away. Then as she was about to reach the front gate a weird thought popped into her head.

' Is he still there...?'

Unable to fend off the thought, she decided to take a quick peek.

' I'm just going to see if he left, or maybe there was something he wanted to tell me.'

Unfortunately, a sudden but very loud voice called out to her, making her instinctively look at that person instead.

" Lydia! What are you- No, wait!"

Remembering what she was going to do, Allison hastily turned around but Alexander was nowhere to be found.

" He left..."

" Did your dad drop you off again? I told you, I could pick you up, but that's you don't want to."

' That's because I don't want to be stuck inside a car with you.'

" Hey, why didn't you pick up your phone I've been texting you nonstop. They actually delayed classes for awhile, something about a security search..."

Just then Allison felt the worst fear of all, she went to take out her phone but it wasn't there.

" Allison, hey are you even listening to me? Huh, what are you doing?"

" I can't find my phone, I'm sure I put it inside my back pocket but it's not there. Unless I dropped it on my way here..."

" That's literally my worse nightmare. Well here use my phone to call your dad so he can bring it back to you. He couldn't have gone that far."

That was a brilliant idea, if the person who drive her here was her dad and not her new nextdoor neighbor. Who she just realized never gave her his phone number.

" Thanks but I can't do that."

" Why not, it'll just take a few minutes to turn back."

" Because my dad didn't drive me to school."

" Okay, so who did, your mom?"

" No, my neighbor."

" That's weird, see that's why you should carpool with me then things like this wouldn't happen to you."

Having stopped paying attention to Lydia, Allison proceeded to ignore her as they both walked inside.

' I'll just have to wait until after school to get my phone back. Hopefully it did fall inside Xander's car, I'd hate for it to have fallen somewhere else. Because if it did fall in his car, we'll get to see each other again. I mean so I can get my phone back, obviously...'
