Chapter Four: The Castle of Darkness

I got up in the morning to Weylyn and Ace watching us sleep in the bed, it looked very creepy, and waking up to that freaked me out, I jumped.

"Good morning, rise and shine. It's a big day today." Weylen said, then they both left.

"Why does she keep saying that?" I asked. I grabbed the pillow from behind me and hit Cole with it. "Get up lazy head." He moaned and groaned, but he knew he had to get up. I got up and put on the black dress I had on yesterday, and went to the same place we were at when I ingested blood, which sat better with my stomach than other foods.

"Here is your food, eat up. It's a special day today." Weylyn said, again.

"Okay? What do you mean by that?" I asked annoyed.

"Wait, nobody told you?" She asked.

"Not a single soul." Cole said sipping his blood from the bowl.

"Well, today is the day you get to meet the boss." She said extremely excited.

"So, why is that so special?" I asked. Cole choked on his blood.

"You're kidding, right?" he said shocked.

"No, I'm serious. What is so special about it?" I asked so confused.

"The boss hasn't been seen in decades, he is the real leader, he is the only one who overrules your power." she said.

"Oh, sorry. No one tells me anything." I said, then sipped all of my blood. "Where is Ace?" I asked.

"Oh he already left to go tidy up the castle, make it look more, dark." she said.

"Ah, well I have to go do my makeup, I will be right back." I said getting out of the chair and walking out of the room to the room Cole and I were sleeping in. I did my makeup the same way as I had it for Analysis Day, but I also put black lipstick on.

I walked out the door of the room, to find Cole leaning up against the wall. He was wearing a suit with a black tie. "You ready?" He asked me. "Or do you need to do your hair?" I was so worried about my makeup and outfit, I forgot about my hair.

"Oh, thank you for reminding me." I said running back in the room. I curled my hair in big naturally looking curls. I put on my black and red, red ribbon lace up, heeled boots on. I left the room once again. "What about now, am I forgetting anything now?" I asked him.

"Doesn't look like it, but wow you are perfectly dark," He said. "You are perfect, my queen."

"Oh, same as you, my king." I said, bowing. He held his arm out and I grabbed it. Out the building we went.

When we got to our destination, it was a small house back in the woods, no one would come back this far. I mean, I guess that's the point, isn't it? On the porch was an old man with a cigar in his right hand, in a rocking chair, rocking back and forth. The old wooden house looked older than him. He was wearing a suit and tie, his suit was navy blue and his tie was a dark grayish color.

"Kenna, Cole. This is the boss." Weylyn said.

"Please, call me Darmin, Darmin Keath." He said, getting up out of his chair and holding out his hand. I shook his hand and so did Cole. I was clinching onto Cole the entire time. We walked into the large two story house with a balcony. The inside was obviously old, but very neat, clean, and welcoming; yet I was still holding onto Cole. "No need to be scared Kenna, I'm not going to hurt you." He said as I gripped onto Cole's arm harder.

Something about being close to Cole made me feel safe, like nothing could get to me. As if I could stand in the middle of a battle field and if I had him right next to me, I would never be hit. Maybe it was his height, the fact that he was five foot eight, or maybe it was his powers. Either way I felt safe around him.

"Now, we need to practice your power, so you can control it." Darmin said. As he had seven targets set up for archery, but all of us knew they weren't for archery. "Show us what you got Kenna." He said looking at me. I had to let go of Cole's arm, and once I let go I realized what I was really afraid of. It wasn't Darmin or the house, it was myself, and the rage built up inside me. As soon as I got in my place for what I was about to do, Darmin whispered something in my ear. "You are just in the beginning of your power, let it out. All your rage, pain, anger. Just let it out." Then it happened, I screamed, and I felt the darkness rush through me and burst out of my body like a really intense shiver. Then I fell to my knees, feeling weak, but strong at the same time.

Cole ran toward me, slid to the ground, and wrapped his arms around me. "Are you okay Love?" he asked me.

I blushed a little, as I took my hand off my forehead and looked up at him. "I'm fine." I said as he lifted me off the ground, him holding on to me I almost fell back down, he caught me. I dusted my dress.

"Like hell you're fine, come on, sit down Love." he said with a very concerned voice.

"No, I'm fine." I said looking at him.

"Yes you are fine, now, let's take a quick break and then Cole, you have to show me what you're capable of." Darmin said. He walked up to me and whispered in my ear "You'll get better, but for now rest, you need to become strong, you're weak, but we can change that." As soon as he walked away, I fainted in Cole's arms.
