Chapter 27

UNEDITED.

*Elijah*

My head was hurts and I felt like it was ready to roll off my head. I couldn't feel anything or focus on feeling anything because my head felt like it was ripped in half. I knew it wasn't possible because I was alive, at least I thought I was alive but I couldn't open my eyes. I couldn't hear anything but the beeps and whirling of some type of machine. What the hell was that? I thought as I tried to move.

Then I gasped-in my head-because I remembered I was pregnant. Oh my god! What about my babies?! I wanted to jump up and open my eyes to see my stomach, I wanted to touch my bump. But I was unable to move. The more I struggled to move the more tired I became and soon enough I was falling back asleep.

The next time I woke up was when I felt a headache lessen and thankfully I could move my fingers. I sighed-inside my head-in relief because I was kind of positive I wasn't dead. Then I heard a faint voice, saying something. It was choppy so I couldn't understand what they were saying, but soon enough I fell back asleep. The next time that I woke up, I could feel most of my body parts and move my eyes, not my eyelids but my eyes. Anyway, I could almost turn my head but it hurt so I stopped. "Eli?" I heard a high pitched voice. All I could do was hum because my throat was dry. "Are you okay?" I heard her ask, I didn't know who though.

"Of course not, he's in a hospital bed." I heard a snarky reply. "Let's go get his boyfriend and a doctor."

I heard footsteps fading further and further away. Then less than ten minutes later–I think–there were rushed footsteps and the felt someone grab my hand and squeeze it tightly. "Elijah," the voice cracked. "Baby, do something if you're awake." I knew it was Nicholas right away because he was the only one who would call me a pet name. It was annoying but I didn't mind him. I slowly tried my hardest to squeeze his hands back but all I could do was twitch. "He's awake and could hear me," he told someone because it wasn't me.

Soon I felt something cold on my chest and flinched, but in my mind, because my body was useless on expressing anything. I wanted to open my eyes. "Don't push yourself too hard, you'll exhaust your body." The doctor, I'm guessing, spoke. She did all checkups on me. "Everything seems fine, just try to get some rest and when you're finally able to move, take it slow." I could tell that she was smiling. "And the babies are fine too but don't stress over."

"I'll make sure he rests, thank you," Nicholas said to the doctor and then I heard her leaving. I guess I was tired because I fell back asleep.

"Yeah...but...I know..." I heard faint voices. I horned and slowly tried to lift my arms because this time I remembered that I couldn't before. When I was able to move it but my eyes snapped opened and I was looking up at the ceiling. Since the room was bright, I closed my eyes immediately. "Yes, father." I heard Nicholas say in a soft voice, I guess he was trying to whisper.

I watched as he hung up the call and then sighed. "Ni-" I couldn't finish saying his name because my throat was very dry.

"Elijah?" He called out and I nodded. Without warning he came running to me and hugged me tightly, that's when I felt my bump rubbing against his toned stomach. "How are you feeling? Do I need to call the doctor?"

I shook my head, still hugging him, and sighed. "Water." My voice cracked. Nicholas pulled away and nodded. Then he got up and walked over to the counter where there was a class filled with water and a filter. I took and quickly gulped it down, almost making it spill. "Thank you. I needed that."

"Welcome." Nicholas smiled as he sat down next to me in the hospital bed. He put his arms under me and I laid on it, making sure the IV in my arm didn't come loose. "The doctor will be here in the morning to take that off and to check on you, for now, let's just rest."

"I feel restless. How long was I resting?" I asked as I looked down at my bump, it didn't look like four months anymore.

"About two weeks, you're five months along now." He responded. "While you're out, I got to see our babies."

"Did you find out their genders yet?" I asked, most likely looking hopeful.

"No," Nicholas shook his head. "I wanted you to be awake when we find out the gender of our babies."

"Awe, that's so sweet." I smiled as I moved closer to him. Well, close as possible since the bump stopped me from doing so. "What happens that day?"

"Don't worry about it now, just let me enjoy this moment. I'll tell you later when you're feeling better." Nicholas kissed the top of my head as I relaxed against him as I smiled feeling good to move again.

We laid in silence. It felt good to finally see where I was and who was in the room with me. I could finally get a sense of my surroundings and I wasn't scared of it. Having Nicholas wrapped around me felt safe, and comfortable. It was nice to know he was willing to spend the time with me in the room while I was out for two weeks. "How long have you been here?" I asked after a long while.

"As long as you have." He whispered as he nuzzled into my hair.

"Stop that, I probably smell bad." I looked out and brought my left hand up to his face to push it away from my hair. "And you should've gone back to the house to clean up."

"I couldn't leave you, I was scared." He spoke, this time his voice softer. "And our house was surrounded, my reporters."

"Sorry," I whispered, looking down. "I didn't know."

"It's not your fault love." He brought his left hand up to my face and made me look up at him, he pecked my lips softly and then slowly moved in, as did I, for a kiss. We kissed for what felt like minutes but it was only seconded and I couldn't get enough of his soft, warm lips. I moaned loudly when he bit my lips and then swept his tongue to smooth the aching. When we finally parted I gasped and looked down at his boner, I couldn't see mine well because of my bump.

I took deep breaths to calm down my heartbeats and the machine to stop beeping. "I don't think it's a good idea to do that here." I blushed when I noticed that Nicholas adjust his pants.

"Yeah, you're right." He sighed and went back to cuddling with me, making sure that his hands didn't brush against the needles in my right arm.

"Wait, were you talking to on the phone before I woke up?" I asked once I had calm down enough.

"My father." He answered.

"What did he want?"

"To meet up, and discuss. Since he heard the news." He mumbled the last part.

"What?! When?" I asked as I looked up at him, shocked and scared.

"A few days after you fainted." He answered. "He was on a business trip, he didn't hear about it and my mother didn't tell him since she thought we wanted to but my brother was watching the news and the story came on."

"Wow." Was all I could say.

"Yeah, and he decided to contact me now. He really insisted that you come too, and I told him that we'll meet after you've healed." He sighed. "I am sorry, I didn't want to tell you this now."

"It's fine, I'll have you with me. I am not scared." I smiled. Nicholas didn't look convinced though so I kissed him. "We'll be okay."

"Okay." He put his hand in my stomach and that was the moment we felt a few kicks. "Oh!"

"Wow, they both have strong kicks." Nicholas looked down at my stomach, bewildered. He laughed as he kissed the skin and felt kicks right in his face, which made him put and made me laugh.

I was happy that moment but in the back of mind, I was worried about what to come next.
