As Locke was getting pulled into his dream, the system had notified him of something important.
[ TITLE ACQUIRED: Goblin Slayer(+5% damage to goblins)! ]
[Class Option Gained!]
[ Would you like to choose your class? ]
[ Y or N ]
Locke was surprised for only a second before he comprehended the situation. It would seem that the system recognized his achievement and gave a title that benefitted him against goblins. He also unlocked the option to choose a class, most likely because of meeting some requirements. Though he was just interrupted from his nap, he couldn't push away the opportunity of gaining a class. Locke picked yes and was immediately shown a blue screen that gave him a few options.
==================
Class Options
==================
Goblin Slayer: C- : 25% dmg to goblins, 15% fear inducer
Corrupted Archmage: A : 30% dmg to holy entities, 30% increase to MP, 15%+ dmg
Azure Flame Wizard: B+: 25% dmg increase with azure flames, 25% MP increase[15% weakness to aqua magic]
Corrupted Barriermage: A+: 25% dmg absorption, 10% absorption of dmg by holy entities, 25% MP increase, 15%+ DF[10% weakness to Holy Light mages]
==========================
Locke reviewed each class carefully and thoroughly as he might be stuck with it forever, any rash decisions might make his journey harder than it needs to be. In the end, he went straight for the Corrupted Archmage because of its benefits and strengths. Being a barrier mage was out of the question because he wasn't someone built for defense, he was an oppressive damage dealer. Unlike evolving his species, picking a class did not hurt but instead felt blissful. He felt a soothing and relaxing energy that flowed through his entire body, it felt as though it mended and refined his muscles, bones, and mana. After just 15 minutes, the entire process had finished and faded away. He could feel how strong he was now, he also knew he had gained some skills.
Locke flexed and stretched his wings and muscles before making a sound in response to how good it felt.

Seeing all the skills he had, Locke decided it would be best to find a target for his experiment. Locke exited the hideout and went to find some creatures for his terror. He ended up finding a Kobold which he had never seen before. It had a face that looked like a more humanoid wolf, provided it didn't have human skin and looked similar to a walking wolf. Its body was far more built than goblins, but it was still quite weak compared to other species.

It would seem that it was out hunting for food because of it carrying 5 dead horned rabbits. Locke grinned as he activated his skill Corrupted Terror which made his entire body look even more terrifying and menacing to the kobold. Its entire body was shaking in fear, it looked as if it was about to piss its pants. Seeing this, Locke activated his dark illusions and caused even more terror to come to the kobold. You could see tears coming from its eyes as it rolled on the ground in agony, who knows what kind of terrifying illusion it was seeing. Locke now wanted to test out a skill called deteriorate, it would slowly absorb and deteriorate the kobold's body till it had no mana or strength left. It was a terrifying skill but at the moment it was only at level 1. It could only absorb .5% of the mana every 2 minutes and deteriorate their strength by 1% every 10 minutes. It also only worked effectively on people many levels below him. Its effect was halved every 50 levels higher someone was, but this was only for now. He can still level his skill up to max and evolve it even further, it was still in its early and did not reach its full potential.
Locke used the final skill he wanted to test out, this was corruption. As soon as he applied it on the Kobold, its mind was slowly corrupted and lost reason. You could see the Kobold's eyes go blank as its body stopped moving entirely. It was now a lifeless piece of meat that did not move, Locke was satisfied with the results.

POV(*UNKOWN*)

Inside one of the Merchant guild's offices, you could see a well-built man in his 60s break his writing quill. He had a well-defined face and would be considered handsome objectively. Even though he was about 68, he looked as though he was only in his early 30s. This man was the merchant guild's advisor, he held a very high position because of his skill and power. He stopped adventuring in his 40s, at that time he was about level 5000. This was because the upper echelons in the world guild decided he fit to be an advisor, he took the job immediately because of the benefits it gave. Right now he was extremely angry because the merchant guild had to delay the order of the second prince because the carriage had not arrived in time. He had to thoroughly apologize to the second prince and immediately posted a quest in the adventurers guild to find the carriage. Right now he was fuming with anger because the second prince had dropped the order for gold and silver because of the delay. They could have made a huge sale if everything went fine, he might've even been promoted.
Tarion looked surprised at the 5 adventurers, they had just said they retrieved most if not all the gold and silver. They also said that they found no bodies of the merchant and the adventurers. The 3 adventurers guarding the merchant were low-class nobles that were learning the ropes from their parents, they had been given the task to guard the prince's order because it was seen as very easy. It was unexpected that all 3 would die along with the merchant, this could only mean that a high-level monster attacked them. They estimated the monster was at least level 250 to 300 and would send a B class party immediately. It was unfortunate this had to happen, but Tarion sighed and dealt with it.
"You five, here are the 5 gold coins. Now scram!" Tarion shouted. Henry was completely frightened and muttered, " Y-yes S-sir." They quickly left with the 5 gold coins as to not anger Tarion anymore, they stood no chance against an ex A-ranked adventurer. Tarion sighed as he had tons of paperwork to do now, he also had to post a B rank quest in the adventurers guild.
