Workday

After I had logged off for the day, I ate dinner and relaxed for a few hours, before heading to sleep. When I woke up, I got dressed and ready for work, toasting some bread for breakfast, and heading out to work quickly. Luckily for me, it was a friday, and not only did I have permission to leave work early, it was also the weekend! This was great news for me, so I could grind out a lot in Live Universe.

After heading to work, I finally got home and kicked off my shoes. Tired from work, I laid on my old couch and stared at the ceiling of my apartment. After laying down for a few minutes, I decided to log on to Live Universe and grind. When I got into Live Universe, I was once again stood inside the Rogues Association. I quickly left the building, and headed off to The Josium Emporium for work. It felt a little weird, working a "traditional" job in both real life in the game world, but I shrugged it off. I mean, it was fine if it was for a quest, right?

When I arrived at the store, Old Man Josie was standing at the counter.

"Hey there, sonny! Ready to start your work shift?" Josie asked politely, hopping off the small stool he stood on.

"Yes, I'm ready to start my shift. You can go relax, if you'd like." I said, offering some comfort to my elderly employer.

"Thank you son, I think I'll take you up on that offer." As Old Man Josie said that, he headed into the back room, where an old bed was, and laid down. I stood at the countertop, patiently waiting for a customer to come through the doors.

And I waited…

And waited…

And waited some more…

For hours on end I stood mindlessly at the countertop, waiting for a customer to come in, yet no one came. I felt sympathy for the secretary over at the Rogues Association, who could only idly wait and twiddle his thumbs, just as I had to. This quest wasn't some easy side quest… this was a test of patience, willpower, and mental strength. For me, an office worker, it wasn't too bad. Though it would've been hell if some poor kid stumbled upon this quest and started it. I can only imagine having to sit in silence for such a long time without having anything to do for hours on end as a child…

Finally, after hours of waiting, a head popped out through the door, with a little bell attached to the door's entrance ringing to signify someone's arrival.

It was a young elf girl, much shorter than I, peeking her head shyly into the shop.

"Excuse me ma'am, is there anything I can help you with?" I asked nicely.

"Uhh yeah, what'ya sell here?" a very contrasting, deep voice bellowed from the young girl. At that moment, it clicked. I'm honestly surprised I didn't recognise them from the face. Standing in front of me was JeanPierre/Guiseppe.

I cleared my throat, trying to stay professional. "So, what may you be looking for ma'am? Here at the Josium Emporium, we sell everything from candy bars to monster catalysts! We have all the knick knacks you could need." I continued, trying to ignore the elephant in the room.

"Terry, izzat you? I haven't seen ya since the Blood Orc raid, haha!" JeanPierre joyously said, running up towards the counter. I stared at them, looking down from the counter.

"Yeah… It's me. Good to see you, JeanPierre. Now, what're you looking for?" I asked, persistently.

"So, what's the get-up? You work here or something?" JeanPierre continued stubbornly.

"Yes, I work here. My shift is almost up, so just buy something and I'll talk to you in a little bit, alright?" I said, irritated.

"Okay, okay, I'll get outta yer' hair in a minute. I'm really looking for a new bowtie to go with me armor, but I haven't found anything all that good yet. Ya got any recommendations?" JeanPierre asked playfully, looking around the shop and eyeing some of the oddities shelved around the store.

"Well, let me take a look at what we have…" I said, walking over to our small clothing section, and searching through a drawer of small bows. I looked to see if I could find a pair that matched JeanPierre's weirdly colored armor. Their armor was light green with electric blue highlights (which must've been expensive, knowing the prices of vibrant dyes). After rummaging a bit, I found two bows, one green and one blue. They seemed perfect for the style, too.

"Hey, JeanPierre, what do you think of these?" I said, handing the two bows over to them. They stared at the bows for a minute, and put them to their head, comparing them with their current bows.

"Hmm, they're a little small, but they work well with my armor. I think I'll take them, though!" Jeanpierre said cheerfully. They're deep voice contrasted poorly with their way of speech, but ignored that and brought JeanPierre up to the counter. I opened up the stock binder that was under the countertop, and looked at the price of the bows.

"Hmm, looks like both bows will be a total of 75 Tyles." I said calmly, placing the bows onto the counter and sliding them over to JeanPierre.

"Algrighty, sounds good!" JeanPierre said, putting 75 Tyles onto the ground. I put the Tyles into a money pouch well hidden behind the counter, and crossed out the two different bows on the stock list.

Looking at the clock, I saw that my shift was up, so I went to go wake up Old Man Josie and leave.

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

"Old Man Josie, my shift is over, so I'll be leaving now. See you tomorrow" I said, after knocking the door a few times.

Old Man Josie groggily came to the door, and waved me goodbye. I waved back, and left the shop with JeanPierre.
