The 4th Generation

The fight concluded with a win once again for the Atlanticans. These guys are not only good but also well equipped. The Verlusians may have some talents but it is nothing compared to what these people have. Overextending and overusing Carlo's abilities is of no use if he was against a well equipped and determined foe. Any enemy in a war who are foolish enough to meet them in an open battle, will have a real bad day for these guys will be relentless and a beast in the battlefield.

After the fight, Carlo disembarked from his mecha unit and was feeling down as he removed his helmet. As he appear in front of the crowd from his suit, their cheers and applause surprised him. He never thought that despite of his defeat people would applaud at his performance. He only returned with a smile as he recover himself from his loss.

Carlo saw the Atlantican pilot with his technician and approached him. Colin gave him a smile and thanked him for the fight. He hands out his hand for a handshake which Carlo gladly returned.

"That was an awesome fight!" He said.

"It was merely luck that I landed some hits, actually..." Carlo replied.

He looks at Carlo unit which seems to be out of shape and then looked at him, "You know, our nation could use a pilot like you. Your skills are legendary, with the right tools and gear you will become an ace and a hotshot in no time!"

Hearing of Colin's recommendation Carlo felt a bit proud of himself being congratulated by his opponent. His cheerful face changed then his tone suddenly turned serious. He recommended some pointers to Carlo and said.

"You are the daredevil and I respect that. However, you should not risk something that outweighs the rewards. I know you are trying to close our gaps in our fight earlier. You should take care of your safety for once. One wrong move earlier, you might be squished in your cabin like an egg with extreme force. Better luck next time and always take care!" He bows at Carlo and then smiled, "That is for earlier!"

Seeing the Atlantican leave Carlo's friend Robin rushed towards him and asked him if he was alright. Carlo replied as he slowly walk towards his corner and said, "I am fine!"

"You should be careful next time my friend." Robin concerned about him said.

"Thank you!" Carlo smiled and headed to the bleachers.

Carlo feel a little bit dizzy due to stress and that shock earlier and decided to calm himself down. He sees that there are cleaners that are cleaning the venue with debris as their units were moderately damaged in the fight. It must have been intense that that several parts have flown off. Lucky that it did not land on the spectators.

After twenty minutes of cleaning the final fight will begin. The last battle will be against the Verlusian's latest model the Titan mech Rogue configuration. It is the latest mech they have in the military and the most capable. Many have placed their bets and expectations towards the pilot and the mech as it faces the latest, fourth generation mecha of the Atlantican mech division.

The pilot of the Titan heads to his cockpit and enters it. The unit then activates itself and prepares some warm up maneuvers for its fight.

Carlo happens to recognize the pilot of the Titan. He is Roman Guerrero, one of the aces in the academy and its best pilots. He aced in his academics but I do not know of his performance in the exercises and simulations.

He is said to be the future of the military of the country. Carlo does not know if it is all hype, propaganda or maybe he may have a thing that he can show to us this afternoon. Looking at his watch it is almost 5:00 PM. The sun is almost setting and the sky is painted red orange. Carlo haven't noticed that their fight with the Atlantican pilot took longer than expected.

By 5:15 PM the fight will begin and the pride of both countries will be at stake. Several minutes to the time Carlo felt that he needed to urinate and I went to the restroom. As he walk towards the hallway he saw an Atlantican and Leondrian military personnel walking side-by-side. They are seem to be having a lively conversation.

Carlo entered the restroom and went to a cubicle to unleash the call of nature. It took him at least a minute to unload himself and then zips up and went to the faucet to wash his hands. While he was washing his hands he overhear the talk of two unknown Atlantican soldiers in their separate toilet seats.

"That Verlusian pilot looks pretty skilled, in fact, he looked like a legend being reborn."

"What are you talking about?" A deep voiced soldier asked his fellow soldier.

"You know that fight earlier, most of these Verlusians are pretty dead weight and easy prey to our pilots and mechs. That guy despite being outmatched put up a great fight!" The lighter voiced soldier said.

The other soldier kept silent but Carlo didn't bother to listen what they have to say about his performance in his fight earlier. He rushed back to the bleachers and saw the Titan being soundly defeated by the Atlantican fourth generation mecha.

Carlo's face was painted with awe and surprise to see his fellow Verlusian pilot lost in a fraction of time of his fight earlier.

A sudden tap of Carlo's shoulder caught his attention, "We are outmatched in this fight. The Atlanticans are bringing all their shiny toys with them."

Carlo looked to his right where the hand was and recognized it is Gin Hamilton, he is a half-Leondrian in the ranks of our military. He explained to him his observations towards Carlo's fight earlier and to the recent one. He said that he may last for at least ten minutes against a fourth gen mecha.

Carlo can sense shivers in his expression as he narrates the event to him. The Verlusian pilot was overwhelmed with speed and precision as he was helpless in his mecha suit. It seems like he was toyed with and the enemy is not taking him seriously.

"There goes the best of our military!" he said and pointed the Verlusian pilot who is in the stretcher being carried to the triage.

"He will be fine!" he continued and said, "Do not be like him. Always choose life over glory!" he left after his talk with Carlo.

Capability of the 4th generation is scary. Carlo would not like to face them in the battlefield where restrictions are all lifted. But he will have to prepare himself at least if the time comes. War is never predictable.
