A Day of Rest

Jack fell onto the ground breathing heavily but soon turned his attention to the six people clapping at his near success. "That's the closest anyone has ever come to beating that." The voice wasn't one he's heard before but he was too tired to look at who it was, just taking in deep breaths. Thankfully before he could attempt to stand someone else came to help him, it was Joey. "Someone get this mad man some water, think he may pass out from heatstroke."

Jack goes to open his mouth but can't seem to muster the energy to form words so he just sighs, Someone hands Joey some water before stepping to the side, "Here you need some water, that scenario is pretty rough I think there was only one person who has come to this place that has beaten it, who knows what's happened to them. But anyway, you need someone to bring you to your room?" Jack didn't want help but he knew that there was no way he was getting to his room by himself so he nods. "Can someone help me get him up to his room?" Jack can't muster the energy to look at the group of others, but it sounded like they all were going to help, but stopped a couple of seconds later, instead, there were some heavy footsteps as someone walked closer to Jack. But before he could actually see who it was he could feel his eyelids get heavier before closing.

Jack woke up with a start, looking at the clock next to his bed it was nine am, he overslept for two hours which was new for him. Considering regular people are never normally fully awake during the morning which gives for some easy kills. He started to get up but immediately noticed that he was super sore. Sighing he sat there for a bit before grabbing one of the food cubes, this time actually making it in the strange contraption. Waiting a second before taking out a steaming stack of waffles, sitting down at the small island in the middle of the kitchen. He didn't eat fast since he decided he should let his body rest for the day, after finishing he quickly washes the dish, takes a shower, and lays down on his bed. He was going to sleep once more but that was interrupted by a knock on his door.

Getting up he opens it to find Joey was the person who knocked. "Hey Jack, just wanted to make sure you were holding up alright, and since you're awake, it seems like you are." Jack nods, "I'm just very sore, I can't believe I was ten kills away from beating that. You think Death's Kingdom is actually gonna be a desert though?" Joey didn't think for more than a second."No, I don't think anyone would survive that unless they had sources of water and food, but all we know about the place is that the top ten move on to the next world really." Jack nods in agreement. "We won't know till we get there."

After a second of silence, Joey speaks up "Well anyway, seems like you wanted to take today off so I'll let you rest." He gives him a light smile, before walking off with a wave. Jack closes his door before falling back onto his bed and closing his eyes..... but he couldn't sleep, he sighs and gets up, walking out of his room, going to the elevator it takes him a second to decide whether or not he wants to go to the indoor park or the recreational room. In the end, he decided some walking would be good for his legs, and it would just generally be peaceful in there, going to the second floor.

The doors opened to a hill covered in some trees, he walked out into the park feeling a slight breeze on his skin, which was something he wasn't used to considering Koria had no wind for some reason. But it felt nice against his skin, walking further in he took a deep breath he couldn't tell what the smell was but he enjoyed it. After a minute he found a dirt path, following it to the left it led to a clearing, and it looked like there were birds flying around, whether they were real or not he had no idea, but he felt like he could stay in this one spot forever. "It's lovely, isn't it?" jack turned his head to find a man sitting next to a tree back against it reading a book, Jack nods in response, "Koria doesn't have all of this so it feels so different, but at the same time I feel so safe in here."

"Nature is very peaceful, not having to worry about someone attacking you in here helps as well. If this weren't a facility it would be a good place to ambush someone though."

"Right, so what are you reading?" Jack points to the book. "The book is called 'How to get away with killing a bluejay' it's a murder mystery with a good plot and a love interest." The man finally looks up at Jack with a smile. "Sounds, interesting, maybe I'll read it before we go off to DK."

"You should, but anyway I want to get back to reading this if you don't mind." Jack shakes his head, "No I don't, sorry for interrupting you." Jack walks through the clearing to the other side, walking back into the trees and sees what looks to be a cliff, though he'd have to get closer to be sure.
