Let's Talk

Ivy woke up from the big queen bed as she stretched her body and took a minute to remember how she ended up here as she squinted her eyes and looked around herself.

And not a second later, her splitting headache reminded her of all the events that happened yesterday.

''Oh right, I promised Rose....''

Ivy said as she got up from the bed and slipped her feet into the fluffy hotel slippers. Tying her robe around herself with the sash, she looked around for her mobile, which she finally found on the coffee table in the room.

Picking it up, she opened her contacts and searched for a number as she made her way to the small kitchen in the hotel room and looked around to find the ingredients to make herself a strong cup of coffee to help her alleviate her headache.

She found the contact saved as 'Aunt❤️' and began to write up her message and sent it as her coffee also got ready.

Just as she picked up the cup, a sudden knock interrupted her, making her way to the door she opened it without a single thought, hoping to find Eric on the other side but was surprised to come across a familiar rugged face.

Masking her surprise, she looked at him nonchalantly, and asked him,

''My Mr Wood, are you at the wrong door? Perhaps you were going to enjoy a secret rendezvous with your current lover and got lost or messed up the room numbers?''

She finished her attack with a perfect smile on her face and an amused expression.

''I want to talk to you.''

Damon said as he scrutinised her.

''Well then, Mr Wood, I am sorry to inform you, but I have no wish to talk to you.''

Ivy replied as she too looked right at him with disinterestedness. Seeing that he did not reply, she shook her head inwardly as she told him.

''Now, if you may, please leave, I have somewhere else to be.''

''Wait!....''

Damon said as he stopped her from closing the door right at his face by inserting his foot in the gap.

''I want to talk about this!''

Damon said as he revealed the papers he held in his other hand.

''I received them from your secretary. You know what they are, right?''

He asked her as his hand clutched the paper tightly, crumpling them in the process.

''Have you signed them?''

Ivy asked, her amused expression gone, taken over by a serious face.

''No.''

He answered.

''Then we have nothing to talk about.''

She responded back.

''Yes, we do! I will not sign them until you talk to me.''

He said firmly.

Ivy looked at him and seeing this firmness and fully knowing the fact that he will exactly do what he says, she took a deep breath as she told him.

''Fine, wait for me in the hotel restaurant.''

Finishing this, she shut the door on his face.

Standing behind the closed door, Ivy took a minute to recompose herself before dragging her tired and hungover body to the showers.

************************

Forty-five minutes later,

Trident Hotel, Top floor restaurant,

Both Ivy and Damon sat opposite each other in a corner hidden by the naked eye.

Five minutes have passed, and neither of them said anything, remaining silent, staring at each other, waiting for them to speak first.

Finally, it was Ivy who broke the silence as she said.

''Mr Wood, I am not interested in playing a staring match with you, please tell me why you wanted to speak with me and that too so urgently.''
