Continuing The Journey

Arriving at the location where most of the guards are at, he senses that the monkeys aren't left with that many and the fight will soon finish. He senses that Dran is among them facing a pack of monkeys by himself. He then joins him in fighting the monkeys.

The surrounding kids look at Finn's blood body and are scared. They realise that the rumour about him beating Krow, Greem and three other kids appears to be true. Even though that he did plunder their belongings and beat a kid along the way, most kids think that it is just a rumour. And none of them have really observed Finn fight which makes the rumours seem not that believable.

But seeing him fight the monkeys first hand, the rumour does seem believable seeing how ruthless Finn is at dealing with the monkeys. The blood of the monkeys got splattered into his clothes and body making them red. Even the guards are amazed seeing his battle.

Clearing up all the monkeys, the guards then proceeds to go back to the carriages to take them back from the remaining monkeys. The monkeys, seeing humans coming, got even more agitated. They wish for their leader to quickly make it back to help them finish these humans off. But their wish turns out to only be a wish. They soon got into a fight again with the guards and kids.

After a couple of minutes, they could hear some footsteps coming their way. The monkeys soon sees into the direction of the new footsteps and are shocked by what they see. They see their leader's corpse being carried in the back of one of those four people. One of those people is injured badly, while the others just have some light injury.

Some of the remaining monkeys have gone mad with rage and attack them while the rest of the monkeys flee away, scared at what they have seen. The attacking monkeys are then eliminated by the sword wielding apprentice with a couple of sweep from a sword, slashing all their bodies in half.

With all of this finished, the leading apprentice ordered the head of the guards to do a head count of the kids left and report it to him later. He first needs to take care of their injured ally, the shield wielding apprentice.

The guards are left with just 14 guards while the kids are left with just 33 of them. Hearing the report, the apprentice leader sighs to himself. He knows that he is going to get a huge scolding later on. The people left aren't even a third of their total.

But seeing the monkey leader's corpse. His face lifts up. It seems that the trouble is worth it.

He is holding a navy blue sphere-like object which he obtains from the monkey leader. It appears to be the beast core of the monkey leader. Beasts that have already activated their Aura condense a core as such. This core is used to store the absorbed energy from the world into the beast.

Unlike human, beasts have a much easier time in absorbing energy. Their sensitivity towards the energy of the world is far more compatible than humans. Humans need to concentrate while absorbing the energy. Hence, that is why there are more beasts with Aura than humans with Aura.

The beast core is a precious object that could be used for all sorts of things. It could be used for the making of arrays, the ingredient of a medicinal pills or the part of a weapon. With this thing in hand, the trouble is actually worth it.

After hearing the report, he then orders the guards to take the dead and missing kids' items. The kids don't dare to do anything stupid and claim the dead kids' items as theirs. If they have been found out that they are lying, or one of them tells the guards about their lies, then they don't even want to think what would happen next.

The guards then grab the ownerless items and bring them away. With just 14 guards and 33 kids, they aren't able to bring all the carriages away. They take 5 carriages with them and leave the rest.

With the sun rising from the east, the journey to the city of Wyrnir then continues. The kids inside the carriage are too busy laying down, catching their breath and falling asleep. They don't have the energy to do anything else. The battle has left them weak and tired. Snores could be heard from inside the carriages. With about 5 days left, the rest of the journey fly by in an instant.

All the kids inside the carriages could be seen sleeping, except for Finn who is about to check his spoils of plunder. Holding his bag and checking its weight, it appears that none of it is stolen. He holds his desire to check his spoils before the carriages come to a stop in order to rest. Without anything to do, he lays down and tries to sleep.
