"Excuse me mister…? Can you tell me your name?" The little boy with silver hair shyly asked from the covers of his mother's embrace. The knight went to retrieve the coffins have returned and loaded Henrik's family on the carriage top.
Henrik looked at Albus with curiosity, he had slaughtered most of their knights in cold blood yet this little boy didn't show any fear towards him. His mother had tightly held on his clothes to protect him from any potential attack.
"My name is Henrik Mikaelson. What is yours?"
"Albus Rine....."
"Well hello Albus, I need some help?"
"How can I help you?"
"You see, I have been sleeping for many years along with my family. Now that I have woken up, I intend to wake up my family too. For doing so I need many herbs and ingredients.....can you and your mother provide me with a place to live along with my family, someplace quiet and peaceful."
"I think I can, but promise not to hurt any more people...."
Henrik let out a smile and nodded "I will not hurt anyone as long as I or my family are not in any danger....." the latter part was intended for the mother, to serve as a warning.
"I guess that you would agree with me, miss....?"
"Caroline...."
"Yes Miss Caroline, I hope you can provide us with a place to live. Seeing that so many fine soldiers are willing to die to protect you, you must be a person of great importance."
She glared at Henrik but Albus broke her glare with his words "Can they live in the Guest room of our mansion mother...."
"Albus....!" She raised her voice at her son who was clearly unaffected by his mother's anger. He innocently blinked his eyes before saying in a child-like tone "They want someplace quiet, the Guest room is quiet enough. He promised not to hurt anyone as long as we provide him with a place."
The intelligence of the 7 years old boy greatly shocked Henrik. While it may look like he was inviting demons in his home but in truth, he and his mother are safest in their mansion which is protected by knights and guards equipped with weapons and armors.
By inviting Henrik to live in the guest room, he would not only be able to keep an eye on him but also save others from any harm. The intelligence displayed by the little boy caused Henrik to keep his guard up.
He just needed to gather information about the world and gather supplies before he would leave this place along with his family. With Henrik's current power he would only be able to free one of his family members. he needed to explore and search for stronger magic power and understand the magic system of this world.
Caroline hesitated for sometime before agreeing to her son's proposal.
"My name is Caroline Pine, the Duchess of Marlborough and this is my son Albus Pine. You are currently at the Ruins of Nearwinter, about 5km away from my territory. I will provide you with a place to live and make sure nobody disturbs you but if you hurt anyone at the castle, I will have you killed." The Mother warned the immortal and ordered the knights to move.
[After some time]
"So this is the Dukedom of Marlborough, I must say impressive…."
"Thanks for your praise not that I need it…." The woman replied before watching her territory with pride and adoration. It took her years to handle the territory after her husband died due to an incurable illness.
"Looks like we have reached our destination, such a grant castle reminds me of New Orleans that my brother lorded over…."
"Your brother was a lord…?"
"Well our family is technically a royal family but that was ages ago, now 2 of my brother are too far from my reach whereas the others are in deep sleep. But I will wake them up, soon I will be united with them and then we would leave this place to travel."
Caroline looked skeptical, the seemingly 12 years old child in front of her was far more dangerous and stronger than anything she had ever seen and heard off. His family was sleeping but she couldn't help but think if they are like Henrik, the monster that she thinks him to be.
Well, there was nothing that she could do, Albus had already helped her in making the right decision, she must leave them alone and not antagonize them, it would be in the best interest of everyone.
She along with her son and Henrik left the carriage well the knights carried the coffins to the guard room. Henrik had already compelled them to forget about what had happened and to think that they were attacked by bandits.
"Welcome Honourable Duchess, your ministers await your presence inside your study….." One of the maids immediately stepped forward and informed Duchess about the urgent meeting called by the ministers.
Caroline frowned as she was tired from her trip and wanted to rest first but the urgent meeting indicated that something important was happening and it required her presence. She turned towards the head maid and ordered her to show Henrik the way to Guestroom.
"Your family has been sent to the room, you should also go and rest…" she said before walking towards her study.
"I will first go to the library and read, I hope you don't mind….."
The voice was firm and unyielding, Henrik wanted to know about the world he was in as soon as possible and leave this place after collecting the herbs and ingredients he required to break the chains.
"Help yourself then..." said the Duchess in an annoyed tone before storming off to her study.
Henrik smiled before disappearing from the place and heading towards the library, the maids didn't see him disappear as they were facing Caroline, yet when they turned they were shocked to see that no one was standing there.
