Chapter :-4 The Current World

Henrik wearing a black shirt and pants walked inside the library. He wanted to understand the world and also at what point in time was he in.

He walked towards the 4th row from the left corner of the entrance and searched for books related to history and current affairs.

His search bore fruits, he did find some books named [The Current World] and [The History]. Henrik spends 3 hrs. in reading both of them before he understood his situation. This world was exactly similar to the previous one except for a few changes. Currently, it was the year 1196, the end of the 12th century.

The 12th century is the period from 1101 to 1200 by the Julian calendar. In the history of European culture, this period is considered part of the High Middle Ages and is sometimes called the Age of the Cistercians.

In the Song dynasty, China an invasion by Jurchens caused a political schism of north and south. The Khmer Empire of Cambodia flourished during this century, while the Fatimids of Egypt were overtaken by the Ayyubid dynasty.

Following the expansions of the Ghaznavids and Ghurid Empire, the Muslim conquests in the Indian subcontinent take place at the end of the century.

Magic was rare nowadays yet people would still see some magicians traveling from one place to another. This World wasn't dominated by spirits, meaning that Henrik and his siblings didn't possess a weakness to Sunlight and Vervain.

Vervain is a potent herb and a vampire's most well-known weakness. If a vampire makes physical contact with vervain in any form, it will burn them. If a vampire ingests vervain, the vampire's throat and digestive tract will be burned and they will become feverish and extremely weak.

If a human ingests or holds vervain somewhere in or on the body (e,g, holding it in a hand or pocket, wearing it in the jewelry), the human is protected from vampire compulsion.

To kill an Original, White Oak stake is required. But apparently, there is no such tree to produce one.

Henrik could use the magic in nature at his will, the spirits didn't allow a vampire to be a witch but the spirits present in this world didn't have any effect on the magic meaning that Henrik and the other Originals can also learn and use magic at will.

Surely other than Freya and Henrik, others couldn't use any magic from the previous world but they will be able to create new types of magic after understanding the mana that flowed everywhere.

Henrik could absorb the magic around him and boost his powers to insane levels, similarly, Freya too would be able to do so after she walks up from her slumber. Unfortunately, the magic chains which bound the coffin was of different magic, meaning that this world's magic couldn't affect it, at least not until most of the magic inside the chains have been exhausted.

He needed to gather his strength and many herbs to break one of his Siblings free from their confinement. It would take him about 20 years to successfully gain that much power and the chains to be weakened.

By that time, he would stop aging after his body achieves peak strength.

"Looks like I would need to wait for some years before I will be strong enough to break free one of my siblings."

"Maybe I should listen to what is going on in the study?"

Henrik extends his right hand forward and starts focusing. Chants filled the empty library as he used a spell to locate Caroline. He only required a talisman to perform the spell.

"My bracelet is still intact even after the transition. Well at let I don't need to worry about making a new talisman."

[Qetsiyah's Locator Spell]

A powerful locator spell which allows the caster to receive visions of the object's/person's location anywhere even if it is constantly moving.

Henrik closed his eyes and focused, his vision suddenly cleared and he could hear the voice of those inside the study.

"What should we do....???"

"The Spirit of 9-tails fox has been haunting the dukedom for some time now that you were away from the castle. We have requested the aid of a powerful mage who will seal the spirit away for good."

"I heard his name is Abe Yasunari....."

"He is rather famous for his exorcism skills...."

"But will he be able to seal that demon after all it is the spirit of 9-tails demon fox...."

"Well he is all we got, I wish it would be enough....."

Caroline thought about asking Abe Yasunari to exorcise Henrik and his family, she thought of them as demons and wanted to get rid of them so to ensure that no harm comes to her child and others. But before that, he should at least be strong enough to seal that spirit, if she was right.

Then Henrik was not a spirit but a true demon in flesh, she didn't want to provoke such an individual if she wasn't sure that she wouldn't come out of the top in this struggle.

"What do you think Duchess Caroline?"

Hearing someone taking her name, she snapped out of her thoughts and replied with uncertainty.

"It would be for the best if he succeeded in sealing that spirit but we need to prepare in case he can't contain the spirit."

"Hmm...I agree."

"Very well then, let me try to get some more mages as a backup in case anything unexpected happens..."

Henrik stopped his magic and the visions and voices around him stopped. A frown was clear on his face as he thought to himself.

"Not a day of peace rather trouble comes finding the Mikaelson family wherever we go. I need to see this spirit and the mage for myself to be able to understand more about this world's spirits and magic."

"No problem then, maybe I could use this situation to win Caroline's trust. After all, it will take me a long time before I would leave this Dukedom."
