--------------------------------------------------------------

2049, Dahan, Kunlunfang Research Institute….

Inside a room full of various types of equipment and monitors, an aged man in his early 50s could be seen standing near an operating table. He wore a white lab coat, a filler mask, gloves and a bodysuit as a precaution.

He had white-coloured hair (grey), however, he had dark skin; this was from him being an oriental Asian. Though he didn't seem to have any wrinkles, cracks, sagging, or age spots (senile lentigo).

Around him stood multiple 'people' with an expressionless face and rigid movement, not a single one of them was breathing but somehow they could still move and help the old man in his task.

In front of the old man lay, six individuals, naked, with an oxygen mask over their mouth, multiple needles connected to their veins and a few vitals monitor patch over their body. Sleeping agents were continuously being injected into their bodies along with nutrients, to keep then from regaining conscious and keep their health on an optimal level.

The old man held a strange device in his left hand while he held a 'Pen-knife', he placed the tip of his 'Pen-knife' and sliced open one of the individual's chest. Blood poured out but the old man continued with his work and cut open the 'unconscious man' ribcage.

*Thump*

*Thump*

*Thump*

The sound of a beating heart echoed throughout the lab, the old man could see the lungs expanding and deflating, the diaphragm, located below the lungs moved up and down along with the process of respiration.

He positioned the strange device near the beating heart and the lungs before attaching it to the Aorta. He sets the ribcage back into its place and performs a Greater healing spell on the bones to reattach it and close the wound.

After healing the individual and making sure that his vitals were okay, the old man let out a sigh of relief and placed down his 'Pen-knife' inside a container filled with chemical after which he disposed of the gloves he wore during the surgery.

He mentally orders the 'others' to guard the unconscious individuals and watch their vitals before he walked towards the exit door of the surgery room.

*Click!*

He pushed open the door and exited the room, outside the surgery room a Chinese man wearing a black suit and black pants could be seen standing near the door.

The Chinese man also wore black glasses and turned towards the Old man, asking him about the surgery.

"So, was it a success Sir Jiedo Heigu!?

The old man nodded towards him before answering his question.

"Well, the surgery went perfect now all we have to do is to wait and observe the effects."

The Chinese man asked in a curious tone.

"When will they walk up?"

"Probably after a few weeks, the magic of eternal youth requires a constant supply of magic from the user so I believe that a few of them wouldn't survive more than 3-months."

"Will this affect our research over the magic you created?"

"I don't think so! We are very near to completing this spell. After a few months, I can proceed with this surgery on myself."

"Very well Sir but be careful, we can't afford to lose you."

"I would die so easily! Hahaha…."

The old man was named Jiedo Heigu, also called Gu Jie, he belonged to Dahan, where he was a part of Dahan's military occultists as a researcher and a magician.

The Kunlunfang Institute was the nexus of all Modern Magic research in China before Asia's dissolution into North and South. It became a part of Dahan after it became an independent nation.

It was said that the Kunlunfang Institute conducted experiments and acts which were said to be equivalent to the rumours associated with the Fourth Research Institute of Japan. The rumours about the Kunlunfang Institute were said to be horrid with regards to females.

After Asia split into North and South, the Kunlunfang Institute attached itself to Dahan when it became an independent country, thus the Great Asian Union lost almost all of its expertise in Modern Magic. For that reason, Dahan was able to stand toe to toe with the Great Asian Union despite its inferior resources. It could be said that the Kunlunfang Institute was the nucleus of Dahan's military strength.

[Surgery of Perpetual Youth] was Ancient magic developed by Gu Jie, his affiliation being with Dahan's Kunlunfang Research Institute.

It was a surgery consisting of implanting the magic inside of someone who then continually applies it. This magic succeeded in obtaining perpetual youth, but could not give genuine immortality. However, if the person the magic is performed on doesn't have the aptitude, the compensation for staying young is to consume their life force. In other words, one's lifespan.

Gu Jie was also an expert in [Zombification] magic that can control corpses from a distance of about 10 Km. To create puppets, a delayed-activation magic sequence with a key for its activation was required which would most likely result in the death of the sequence's target, that is, after the death was established, these "new corpses" turned into puppets and fight again.

His 'helpers' inside the surgery room were all a successful product of his magic.

He created the ancient magic to attain immortality but his research was showing otherwise, the ageing had indeed stopped but the overall lifespan of the user had lessened quite a bit, causing most of the test subjects to die after a few weeks.

(After a few months)

This batch of test-subjects had survived for a few months before dying due to loss of life-force. During this time, Gu Jie had made some changed in his spell.

Through constant failed attempts at immortality, he finally perfected his ancient magic and underwent the surgery along with his only student alive, named Zhou Gongjin.

Zhou Gongjin was a good looking man with long hair that extends to his waist and yellow eyes. He was normally seen wearing a suit.
