Stuck In A Shack

Julian kept his gaze set on one of the many rays of sun light that was bleeding through one of the many holes within the shack. He hated every second that was wasted having to sit there and wait for the rays to be covered up by a storm, or better yet. Wait the full eight hours that it would take for the sun to set.

"We barely made it in the nick of time..." Myst would say breathing heavily resting a hand on her side. "I don't think I have had to push myself that hard before."

"We wouldn't have had this kind of issue if you hadn't taken your sweet time Myst." Julian would say in a very aggravated tone. There was no hiding it now. It was coming off of him almost as if it were a flowing aura of mad.

"I know that Julian...And I am sorry that I took so long...I couldn't really help it." She would say in response rubbing her are slowly while covering her chest with her arm. Which really didn't help too well considering the fact, that when she moved her arm, so did her breast.

"The time you cost us we could have already found my sister and kicked Boris' ass." Julian would say his aggravation become more and more prevalent. "Is there a actual good reason that you cost us so much time?"

There was that question. It was one that she didn't look forward to answering. At least not yet. While the images of her past were still fresh within her mind. The memories that were more painful than she initially recalled. Was that because of the fact she knew deep down what it really was? With how horrible of a situation that it was?

Or was it due to the fate she could have had at the age of six. Where she could have died to the cold. and all attempts to bring her back to a livable sense. Were off the table. It was something that felt surreal to her, being granted a new chance of life, and a eternal one at that. But it didn't make any sense to her from the beginning. Because why would someone give her such a lucrative chance at life?

"There really isn't a good explanation for it Julian...Not one that won't be met by your aggravation.." Myst would say in a low tone earning a raised brow from Maurice. In all honest, the answer was quite clear. It was what was known as post traumatic stress disorder. Or PTSD for short. It was something she could easily try to explain to the younger male. But it made sense that she shouldn't due to how he currently was over his sister.

"So you wasted precious time for no rea-" Julian would begin before getting a balled fist right into the center of chest making the breath catch in his lungs for a moment. After catching his breath he would send a glare in the direction of Maurice who had done such a thing without hesitation.

"You do not understand what she is going through within her head Julian. Do you even know what has happened to her when she was just the age of six? Besides knowing she was brought into your home when you were only four?" Maurice would say in a scolding tone, that was almost completely unrelenting. Though her tone did cause for Julian's eyes to widen in surprise. Before he slowly looked to Myst seeing her looking down to the ground silently. Seeing that she was obviously bothered by the mention of it alone.

"From what I had learned from Draven. She was almost killed as a result of human greed. Which led to him saving her from such a fate as that. A fate so cold that she deserved another chance of living. Now we are sorry that her past is far too traumatic for her to bear at times. And the last thing she needs is you snapping at her when you don't understand a damn thing Julian." Maurice would then continue chewing into him without even giving him a chance to but in.

He would look down, having been thoroughly verbally berated by the woman. She was right. He had been inconsiderate for the sake of his own sister. That he hadn't stopped to consider what it was these two were going through. Or for that matter, what it was they were even tormented by that could come to light. Compared to them he probably had things pretty easy.

He would look to Myst once more, his aggravation having simmered down by a considerable degree. Taking a deep breath he would place a somewhat comforting hand on her shoulder. Noticing strange markings just below her shoulder. They were rather hard to make out in the dark. But this close to her, he could notice them with a rather attentive gaze.

"I am sorry Myst...It was never my intention to be inconsiderate about you pain, and suffering you have to go through due to it. I was just caught up over worrying about my sister. That I wasn't taking anything into consideration. And I am sorry." He would say in a low tone earning a somewhat happy look from Maurice. Before looking to back to the light streaming through the holes of the shack. "Maybe things were supposed to turn out this way...But why?"

"What is that supposed to mean..?" Myst would ask before looking up with a sad but curious look within her eyes.

"What if we were supposed to be late. And we are to have to wait here for something to happen? Like for something in the universe is to guide us along?" Julian would say staring towards the light. Deeply into the rays as he would blink for a moment. Almost seeing what seemed like the outline of a figure within the light. Before blinking once more seeing that there was nothing but the pure light. Was he starting to loose his mind from exhaustion? Or was somebody there?
