Jin Sola

Will sat quietly as he thought about it. He kept the name Porley in his mind as someone to investigate about in the future.

Will did not know much about demons, other than the fact that they were one of the major enemies of humans during the Dark Ages and that once they had been defeated, they had retreated to a corner of the galaxy known as the Hell Zone.

As he researched into it, he found that demons had terrifying physical bodies and incredible regenerative properties among other powers. However, they were different from humans in that they could not use cosmic energy, but instead used blood as a source of energy. Thus demons were infamous as an bloodthirsty and war mongering race.

Will read about this and then put it in the back of his mind. This wasn't an urgent investigative matter for him at the moment. Hs only had a passing curiosity about it. Instead, Will took a look at the business card that Bull had handed to him.

"Jin Sola..." Will wondered. After some time of hesitating, Will eventually called the number on the card.

"Hello?" The calm voice of a young man resonated through the phone. His voice was truly magnetic.

"Hello, is this Mr. Jin Sola?" Will asked.

An hour later, Will was sitting in a cafe. Opposite him, was a man who seemed to look as young as Will himself. Jin Sola.

Jin Sola was taking Will's pulse with a serious look. "Your life wheel is about to completely shatter. I have never seen such a situation before. More than w5% of your life wheel simply doesn't exist."

Will sighed. "Mr. Jin, Bull told me that you had a broken life wheel, but survived. How is that possible?"

Jin smiled. "My life wheel was indeed broken into three parts and I was leaking energy. I didn't have long to live, but through certain adventures, I've managed to survive for over 100 years now. However, as a consequence, I cannot practice energy art and become a warrior in the traditional sense."

"Yet, the situation is different from yours. My life wheel was only shattered, while parts of your life wheel are missing, it is a most unusual case I have seen. Your body also seems to be healthier, but I suspect that is an illusion. Your state is at an inflection point, you won't be able to live much longer." Jin had a pitiful look on his face.

Will did not know what to say. He was in deep thought. In fact, he wanted Jin to tell him his secret, but he wasn't sure how to make him do so.

Jin appeared to have seen his dilemma. "I will tell you how I have managed to survive so long." He took a long drag off of his cigarette.

"I took a banned substance. Red Crown Crystals. Have you heard of it?" Jin asked with a mocking smile.

Will looked at Jin with shock. Jin seemed unperturbed, and continued. "I searched long and hard for a cure and failed to find any. Eventually, I learned about Red Crown Crystals, an experimental gene product that was being developed to replicate the powerful regenerative properties of demons.

I immediately signed up, because I wondered, if it had regenerative properties, it might fuse my shattered life wheel together.

It took a total of fifteen Red Crown Crystal doses for my Life Wheel to heal. However, the attribute of my life wheel changed to a blood attribute. I could no longer use cosmic energy and only absorbing blood would allow me to improve my strength."

Will was stunned, but confused. "Red crown crystals turn a person into a demon."

"Indeed. However, do you know why the Red Crown Crystal turns someone into a demon? More accurately, it turns the human into a host for the birth of a demon. Jin sighed as he took a smoke.

"Red Crown Crystal is actually synthesized from the blood of a Demon captured by the human race. When injected into the human body, it would be absorbed by the Life Wheel directly and upgrade the power of the user. However, in truth, it parasitizes the Life Wheel, using it to birth a new infant demon that then feasts on the host body."

"The Life Wheel actually turns into a demon?" Will asked with terror.

Jon nodded. "Indeed. However, what happens when the Life Wheel is shattered? The crystals are unable to parasitize the entire Life Wheel and a struggle for control begins with the host. In my case, I am firmly in control, while I can still use the regenerative powers of a demon. However, to grow, I need blood. So I joined the army, the battlefield is my home."

Will was shocked. But then, he remembered something. When his Life Wheel melted, it formed a reddish substance mixed with the gold liquid and it was cleansed out of his body. Remembering this, he took out a cotton damped with that red substance and showed it to Jin Sula.

"Do you know what this substance is?" Will asked.

"This..." Jin's eyes bulged the moment he saw the reddish substance on the cotton. "It seems to be human blood, but just seeing it is roiling my blood. The demonic instinct in me is desperate for this substance!"

Will's eyes shook. He then nodded. "I need to test this sample and understand what it really contains." He thought to himself.

"What is that thing?" Jin asked.

"I am not too sure myself. I found this by accident." Will could only make up an excuse.

Jin sighed, but didn't say anything further, however, his mind was turbulent. Will was suddenly regretting showing that cotton swab to Jin. Will could clearly see the greed in his eyes!

Will changed the topic. "So it is possible to survive by using Red Crown Crystals..."

"It is not a perfect science. There is a large element of luck involved. If you lose your battle of will power, you will turn into a fertilizer for the demon's birth." Jin calmly explained.
