The call

As I got near the door I could hear sounds that sounded like something being ripped apart. Then as I was about to open the door, one of my neighbor came running out like he had just ran for his life. His face was filled with fear and disbelief. He then ran to one of the payphones near the apartments and started to dial some numbers. I thought that he would call the cops, but I had been curious so I pretended to be paying attention up ahead so that I could listen in on their conversation. I couldn't hear the other side that well, but I could make out something like "It happened" and "I don't know what to do" and "It's trying to eat up my whole apartment complex" but then there was a long silence on this end, then "Alright, I will get it done".

As I was wondering who he had called, I heard some screaming and then some tearing, like a slaughter house. Everything suddenly went quiet. As I was getting closer and closer to the door, the guy that had just used the phone had ran up behind me saying "You shouldn't go in there, it isn't a pretty sight.". "I'm just gonna go check out the situation" I said. "Alright, don't say I didn't warn you" He said with frown that quickly turned into a smile filled with disdain as soon as I turned around and headed towards the door. "We're lucky that nobody would miss you, as we need food for it" He said in a condescending tone.

As I open the door, everything was quiet. Unbelievably quiet that you wouldn't think that anyone had lived here for a while. There was a slight sound of something up a few doors. I decided to see what it was so I tiptoed towards the rooms in that direction, checking every room that was unlocked. As soon as I peaked inside one of the rooms I had saw something that made me sick to my stomach.
