Morning finally came. I didn't sleep very well. If what William said about me having the golden bow and the arrow of light connects to what Ms. Alice said about the legend, am I the one in the legend? But why would it be me?
"Lily are you up?" James asked.
"Yeah, I'm up."
When I finally decided to get up, I realized I left the window open so I closed it. I had a strange feeling someone was watching me, so I turned to look, but nothing was there. I only saw the bed with a blue cover, the empty walls painted a bright gray, and the door cracked enough for the smell of breakfast to spread throughout the room. My stomach growled and I quickly got to the door.
We all finished breakfast, and I wanted to talk to James alone.
"Hey James"
"Yeah?"
"Can you come outside with me for a second?"
We both got up and sat down on the stair steps outside. It was still early in the morning so it was a little cold. I didn't mind though.
"James..if...if I am the one in the legend, if I have to save everyone and our home, does that mean I'll never come back here?" I turned to face James. "I don't want to leave you here James"
James was silent for a while. "Lily, I will always be here for you. I-" he paused and his eyes met mine. "I care about you Lily, and I don't want you to get hurt, so I will go with you. I will always be by your side."
I felt my face turn red and I quickly looked away. Through the cold air I felt the warmth of James' arms embrace me.
"Thank you James. I couldn't have made it this far without you." I said still blushing.
