Genetic Upgrade
Dave walked around the city for awhile before deciding to do missions. He explored and began talking to NPCs to see if he could find hidden missions. These mission give rewards big time so Dave was hoping he could struck gold.
"Could I offer you any assistance?" Dave talked to a random NPC he found.
"No. I don't have anything at the moment. Maybe another time."
Dave was disappointed. He had been talking to NPCs non-stop with no success. It was hard finding something in this city. It was weird though for him when he was only starting to play. He stumbled upon an NPC within a store and started conversing with him.
"Hey. What can I do for you? You need anything to buy?"
"I'm looking for something to do, do you have anything you want any help with?"
"Yeah. I have something that needs help. I have one last ingredient needed for my genetic formula and it's a beast outside the city. It's called the Cute Rabbit. Hunt it and bring back the blood essence. Take this storage device."
Dave didn't hesitate and accepted the mission hunting for the rabbits outside the city. He passed through the guards then directly adventured to the forest. This was a large forests with strong beasts as you go deeper inside. Dave didn't encounter any monster or beasts. It was a smooth journey at first. He was given a map where to find the rabbits and he slowly traversed the terrain. It didn't take five minutes and he already found one but he did not expect that the cute rabbit he was expecting was as large as dog. It clearly was a mutant rabbit with large red eyes and dark fur with saliva dripping from its mouth. Dave was shocked of such a massive rabbit and clearly not cute.
Dave with no weapons in hand used his fists. He decided to use his newly learned footwork and circled around the rabbit throwing punches that made the rabbit irritated and enraged. It was supposed to be an easy mission but how come it became like this. Clearly this was not a Lv.1 rabbit but it did indicate above the rabbit that it was. Dave punched at it several times and the health bar of the rabbit was gradually decreasing. It was helpless and Dave with his advantage in his movement was showing.
Dave made a cut into the rabbit's corpse drawing out the blood essence. He did not know how to but when the blood was poured into the storage device it indicated that the blood essences was at 25%. It made him think that he would kill three more to complete the mission assigned. He could only look for more and do this one at a time. He killed another one after searching for three minutes. It didn't took long enough for the storage device to reach 100% after the fourth kill. He leveled up into Lv. 2 indicating that he was truly beginning in his journey inside this large virtual world.

Dave looked at his new found stats and found it questioning what was the last attrinbute called soul. It was set at zero which was odd. He was still new so he didn't pondered for long and decided to turn in the requirement of the mission the blood essence. He arrived at the shop owner NPC and gave the storage device.
The NPC was surprised that it was that soon Dave accomplished the mission he gave. He carefully looked upon the storage device containing the essence. He grabbed a test tube colored red and gave it to Dave.
"Here take this. This is your reward it is a strength enhancing gene. It will enhance the fiber muscles in your biceps. Considering it is an F-grade gene solution you will receive only 10 strength attriubute." The shop owner smiled at Dave considering that he was helped by this young man. His shop in this city was selling Gene formulas and he had many at stock. He also makes gene solutions and experiments on them trying to encover new formulas.
Dave smiled thinking the strength attribute will help him because of how he was weak right now.
"I nearly forgot. Here take this 10 credits as token of my appreciation. I am finally able to begin working on my experiments."
Dave accepted the credits thinking that he could now buy a cheap weapon as his starting equipment.
"Can I take a look at the gene solutions you are selling?" Dave asked.
"Sure. Here, take a look."

Fiber Muscle-Strengthening(Biceps), Grade: F, Str: 10 Price: 20 credits
Fiber Muscle-Strengthening(Soleus), Grade: F, Agi: 10 Price: 20 credits

Dave found out that the solution that he drank enhanced his genes directly on the fibers of his muscles. It gave him strength and there was a marker that he could only take up 80 of these F-grade gene solutions. It indicated 1/80 on the stat menu.
Dave could not afford another one so he could only ask if there are weapons that the shop owner was selling.
"Yes, ofcourse, here take a look."
Basic Sword(one-handed) Price: 5 credits

Basic Spear Price: 10 credits
Basic Bow Price: 10 credits
Basic Shield Price: 5 credits
Dave contemplated for awhile on what to choose. He could figure out that the shop hinted players on choosing what they want to be in the future with these choices. A one-handed sword with a shield could be a Tank or dual-weilding swordmaster. There was no limitation though in what you want to be in this world but beginners should fairly master one so that they would be able to battle without difficulties if they kept on changing weapons. Dave had played games in the past and he always used dual-wielding characters. So, he immediately chose the two swords and the credits he have was already used. The short swords he bought came with a scabbard that could be putat the back. He was ready to hunt now for monsters. First, he has to find missions that would give generous rewards as to not waste his time and quickly catch up towards the leading players.
Dave talked with many NPCs and got many missions and he quickly leveled up to 5. Giving him 20 unallocated attribute points. Every level he would get 5 attribute points. He quickly killed the monsters within the vicinity of the city. He found out that the corpses of these monsters could be sold towards the different shops in the city profiting in 67 credits. He could already buy more of those Gene solutions. Dave did not find any problems when using the swords. He did not have any technique or skills to assist him to bring about more damage to the monsters he fought but it was easy enough as they were low leveled. He gained little profiency on battling the monsters making the state of his mind and body synchronised even more. He made his way to the shop where he got the Gene solution earlier and bought the solutions that increased Str and Agi for 10 points worth 40 credits.
His new stats menu would like this after he was done drinking both solutions.

The UAP was the Unallocated Attribute Points he gained when he leveled. He did not assigned it as he was still new and in the future would need this Attributes in cases of emergency. He was left with 27 credits after buying the two solutions. Making it 03/80 for the F-grade solutions that was still needed to complete. Dave found out that the city didn't have any new missions after he completed them so he began questioning the NPCs and players that would have the time to explain the areas and the city nearest from here. As he memorized the words from the kind people who helped him he began to travel to Alorria. A town where he would pass to reach the next city.
Dave killed the monsters that he would encounter and stip it of its corpse that could be useful to NPCs or rather himself in the future. Dave didn't know that he had already gamed for 15 hours straight and his body was already beginning to gave him warning signals that he should take a break because it might have adverse effects on his health.
"Log Off." Dave initiated the voice command and the essentail liquid for life support when playing drained out and dave climbed out of the pod and began showering. He cooked a meal and ate it thinking of the things that happened within the game and then sleeped for 7 hours before logging back inside the game.
