Zombie Forest

Dave leveled up to 7 and gained ten unallocated attributes and encountered new monsters along the way. He battled with a few of them at the same time. Making the difficulty a bit higher but he still came out on top and grabbed victory. There were also other players travelling with companions and sometimes alone. He was getting deeper and deeper into the forest and he noticed that players were scarce and did not seem to go the way where he was going. Dave still proceeded what the map indicated the fastest way to the nearest city would be here. Having a detour would make the travel longer. He noticed that the trees in the area were dead as he got further along. The dirt was black with no life and there were no grasses anywhere to be seen. The dead trees were huge and tall that some of them could blot out the sun. It gave Dave a creepy feeling about the place. Considering that he was inside the game he did not mind it to much and thought positively.

As Dave walked the fog was beginning to cover up the area making the vision of the place hard to see. Dave didn't feel right as the trail he walked before through disappeared. He knew this was a game but to suddenly experience this here in the game he couldn't think of anything else than to be inside a horror movie. He carefully tread slowly towards the town as he looked at the map again. Suddenly, a screeching sound could be heard far away and Dave was frightened at what it might be. He didn't want to stay any longer as deep inside he didn't want to see how strange or hideous the one who produced it. He immediately ran as fast he could with sometimes looking back. The sound of screeching was getting nearer and nearer but he could not see anything. He unsheathed his two short swords at the back and prepared to receive the attack from this unknown monster. With careful vigilance, he looked at the surroundings and found it odd that he could not find it.

A sudden hand broke out of the ground and grabbed his ankle scaring the hell out of Dave. As he instinctively slashed the hand of the attacker. He saw that the hand was cut from the arm of the attacker but was still gripping his leg. He saw that it was bones and rotting flesh. It was a scary scene if someone would experience it. There were worms coming out from the hand. It made dave want to throw up. The attacker was a zombie that dug underground until finally deciding to attack dave. He did not know how he stumbled upon this land where many have not indicated that he would be passing through here. The Virtual World of Gen-W was ever changing and players could affect it maybe it might be directly related to a quest or mission. The storyline of Gen-W was on how players interact with the world.

"Oh Sh*t. Oh Sh*t." Dave cursed at how hideous it looked. It scared him when it grabbed on to his arm. He naturally was not afraid when watching moveis but being this so life-like he was having cold sweats. The environment made him feel cold and this was like your average horror movie. Dave had enough of this and decided to kill this zombie with one shot. The zombie with its soft-decaying flesh was easily slashed in half. It died in a matter of seconds. It gave him minimal EXP making him disappointed with how he got scared of a weak monster.

Screeeeech.

The entire forest screeched and Dave knew that more of this things were coming. A zombie horde was coming and Dave creased his brows as he got himself readied for the upcoming attack. One by one zombies that flesh hanging from their body ran towards Dave. Dave immediately hurried to allocate his free attribute points into strength and agility. He felt that he became lighter and more powerful. As he slashed the first zombie that he encountered it was very easy to hack it in two. Dave dodged the incoming zombies but would sometimes get caught within their attack making him bleed and losing considerable amount of health.

"I don't know if I could survive this but if I were to die here then I would lose my equipments." Gen-W was a harsh game. If your character dies then it would enter a period of weakness that would strip you of your powers for hours. You would lose your equipment if that equipment was not bound to you. It made the game very hard for others and would make them break to the point raging towards the devs or hunting other players in real life.

Dave found an opportunity after dodging an attack when he jumped towards a tree that was easily to climb. He found out that the zombies were not good climbers. They were fairly good diggers though. Dave did wait for an hour if they would disperse and continue their business but to no avail. Dave sat at the branches waiting for somebody to help him. Help did not wait for too long as he found another guy being chased by zombies. Dave considered this a help as it would attract the zombies here that was waiting for him. The guy was like a magnet with all his screaming. The loud noise coming from him attracted the zombies. He was still fighting though as he ran. The zombies on Dave's side started to dwindle and it was the right time to continue killing of these f*ckers.

Dave leveled up to 10. With so many of the zombies he killed he merely reached 10. He was exhausted with all the killings that he done. He saw that the guy with the shield was gone and he didn't know where he have gone to. This place was out of his expectations. There must be some secret in here that would change the surrounding and environment. Maybe he would discover a rare gene formula hiding in the depths of this eerie forest.

Dave got back on track as he head towards the town. After few minutes of carefully walking he found the town that he was looking for. Eerie looking town and no people or NPC could be seen. Not even players could be located on sight. It was creepy and maybe more zombies would appear here.

"Maybe those zombies are the NPCs once living inside this town." Dave thought.

It was awfully quiet. Too quiet.

Dave got inside one of the houses to see if he could find any clues. He found inside many blood stains. Considering how clean it was outside with no blood was surprising to see that the house was full of it. He proceeded to get into another house and also found many blood stains.

"All of the people must have died inside their houses."

Dave came to a conclusion that something sinister must have done it. The realistic vibes being given by this game made Dave creeped out. How could the devs possibly do this. He commended them at the same time for its life-like environment.
