A year passed and the flood season was over. Adrik and Agrafena, and the rest of the unicorns could graze peacefully in the rain. But today was a sunny day, Adrik and Agrafena went to the humans den near the mountain. Adrik could always find the human creatures if they migrated because they always had this smokey stuff that went into the air. Adrik and Agrafena stood outside of their den. Suddenly a figure came towards the entrance of the cave. Agrafena backed up a little in fear of this creature attacking. Adrik sniffed towards the entrance of the cave curiously. Suddenly a paw came out of the cave and touched Adrik's nose. Adrik froze, his legs shook slightly as he gulped. The human creature came out still touching Adrik's nose. The human was large, had a big chin and big arms, his legs were short and his head was a medium size. The human creature wore fur and sometimes walked on all fours. Adrik sniffed the human creatures head, but then snorted in disgust. "I think they have been in the cave all the time, I don't think they ever left." Adrik said as the human creature continued to study Adrik. "Well it would make sense since at night, they wouldn't be able to survive." Agrafena said with a flick of her lion tail. "You are a funny looking creature.." Adrik said lowering his head so the human creature could feel his mane. The human creature grabbed Adrik's unicorn horn. "Oh, that's my horn. I am magical." Adrik said with a toothy grin. The human creature just kept looking at his horn with curiosity. "I don't think they can talk darling." Agrafena said. A shadow suddenly ran across the ground in front of Adrik. Adrik glanced up and saw a Griffin flying over head. The human creature looked up and suddenly started making some weird grunting and barking noises. Adrik backed up as the human creature started flayling around. The human creature still had its gaze on the griffin above. The human creature started to make a growling sound and started bounding up and down. "We should go." Agrafena said sharply. Adrik sighed and followed Agrafena, suddenly more human creatures came out of the cave. The all looked up and saw the griffin. They started growing and barking, making a whole series of noises. Agrafena and Adrik watched them. "They aren't that smart either." Adrik said with a lip flutter. The griffin flew over the trees and out of sight. One of the human creatures noticed Agrafena and Adrik. She started growling at them. The human creatures all turned around and saw the unicorns. "Oh damn!" Agrafena yelled galloping up the hill with Adrik as the human creatures chased them.
Later that afternoon, Adrik and Agrafena made it safe to the unicorn herd. The sun began to go down and all of the day time creatures went to rest. The night time creatures noticed something different in the air. No more Muka and a scent of a strange new creature. The Waheelas howled loudly in the distance as they came closer to the unicorn herd. Adrik and Agrafena moved the herd to find a new sleeping spot. Later that night it became quiet. Adrik sighed and was so relieved he could finally rest. He closed his eyes, it felt like four minutes before he was woken up to yipping, growling, snarling, barking, and howling in the distance somewhere. Adrik took a peek out and saw nothing except fog and the river. Everything had become quiet when he looked around, he thought he saw a horse standing in the fog near the water, but he shook his head and went back to bed.
