Lost

Walking with his head down Zi Xiang didn't notice that he was starting to trail off, his consciousness fuzzy and unfocused he just kept on walking. Although Zi Xiang wasn't trailing off by much he was still deviating from his original path. Without the sun as a guide, Zi Xiang didn't know that he wasn't walking in the right direction. From the tiredness and exhaustion, he didn't notice that the trail behind him was starting to shift. Given a few more hours he would truly be lost if the fog didn't dissipate.

Though to Zi Xiang, who was in a deep trance just looking at the grass below him move by and his feet step forward then back it was like he was watching rather than experiencing. Just going by, the day started to lighten up though there wasn't much more visibility than there was in the morning. Time flowed by like water and before Zi Xiang was even conscious it was night starting to darken again. Though it was hard to notice with nothing going on. No movement no wind just an eerie stillness that covered the field.

A deepness unusualness hid in the fog and it was starting to strip away Zi Xiang pulling his mind away from his body numbing his awareness. As Zi Xiang walked along he felt something slowly dissolving from within himself, something important but he couldn't recognize what it was. As more and more moved across Zi Xiang's vision things began to grey and turn monochrome. The grass which moved past Zi Xiang was turning more and more colorless and from its original light yellow into a light grey. As more and more trailed across Zi Xiang's vision it started to all meld together borders disappeared and everything looked the same even his feet and legs started to meld into the ground.

After awhile Zi Xiang couldn't even tell if he was moving anymore like a ghost his body and surroundings were all greyed out. The sky was plain smooth like a beautiful ceramic without a single distinct part completely and utterly bare. It seemed as if you could just touch it if you reached up with your hand so close yet far away. The ground just looked like wispy little tendrils all a light grey indistinguishable from each other. It felt as if Zi Xiang was just floating he couldn't see his legs anymore it all sort of just blended in. A light thought brushed past Zi Xiang's mind

"Ah... I must already be dead"

But suddenly like a massive insurgency, all sorts of thoughts burst out a slight sigh turning into a violent gasp for air. Zi Xiang suddenly snapped back to reality. Looking around and trying to sense what happened to him Zi Xiang felt hollow just sort of hollow.

His sense of feeling in his body was largely numb. Even feeling his own breathing and heartbeat was difficult when he focused on them. His sense of thirst and hunger was also numbed, even his pain and exhaustion were mostly gone. If he just held his breath Zi Xiang thought he could probably strangle himself if his body didn't stop him. It was a terrifying state to be in, even his sense of fear and panic were numbed. Checking to make sure he didn't accidentally hurt himself, Zi Xiang sat down he checked his arm first and to his unexpressed horror, It was bleeding horribly. Touching it, the arm was squishy and soft.

It felt vaguely loose too like it could just fall off at any moment. The feeling was especially bad because he didn't feel any pain or notice it until looking. Most of the grass bandages were gone or loose, so Zi Xiang retied them much tighter than before now he couldn't feel any pain from his arm while tieing them. Making sure the grass straws were tight enough Zi Xiang pretty much tied them around so tight that circulation was cut off in his forearm. Slipping his right hand into his sleeve he checked his upper arm to see if it was fine feeling around is was mostly dry. No blood or strange wounds had formed on his upper arm. Just his forearm was the part that was horribly injured.

Checking his other limbs his left arm was fine but his legs were horribly bruised and his feet were swollen and his knees and joints were too. Thinking to himself how far had he walked Zi Xiang could only try and think back, most of his memories were fuzzy even some of the stuff before was blurred he vaguely remembered it getting noticeably darker twice.

"I walked two days straight without even noticing something is definitely wrong. I should have at least passed out at some point." Thinking about it he could only hope to get out of the fog and hopefully the field as soon as possible. There was certainly something wrong with the fog whether it was some sort of pollution or strange gas a factory was disposing of Zi Xiang didn't know but it probably had some very negative side effects possibly even carcinogenic effects. Staying in the fog for the least amount of time possible was the right thing to do.
