Alex has been busy during this month of Ivan's stay in the States. He was the one taking over the company, making video conference, looking for the woman that he asked him to find and other things that Ivan entrusted him.
"Bro, I'm so exhausted without you here." he told Ivan while they were having a video call. He called him for one, to check on him daily since he's the only one who knows what Ivan is up to, and two, is to tell him the good news.
"Don't worry, once everything is over I will make sure to compensate you." Ivan answered with a faint smile, still with that cold and blank gaze.
"Anyway, I'm here to tell you the good news." Alex paused for a while to see Ivan's reaction before dropping the bomb. "I found her."
"Where?" Ivan didn't show any hint of surprise on his face but his voice was trembling due to the mixed emotions he felt.
"With what I found out, she's still actually here in the country. The only time she left was about five years ago, that was during her marriage." Alex knew why it was so important to find the woman. When he found out, he was also shocked with the news but he didn't say anything.
Ivan was still silent, digesting the information that he's been longing to hear.
"And bro, another piece of information I got is, she's well acquainted with the person you like." This time Ivan's face lit up with a smile when he heard him.
"I can't believe I was so inefficient. Who would've thought that they still have communication all these years." Ivan commented happily. He was truly happy with this news.
"So, what's your plan now?" Alex asked him after a while of silence.
"I'll go back once everything is fine here in my end. Thanks Alex."
"No problem. The day after tomorrow is my flight going to States. Don't rush everything." Alex reminded Ivan afraid that he would change their plan after hearing the news.
"Got it. See you!"
After few more words, Ivan ended the call with a wide smile on his face. He leaned his back on the couch with his hands being used as pillow under his head.
"This is really a blessing in disguise. Heaven's blessing." Ivan whispered to himself. For a moment, he didn't know what to do due to his excitement.
Kaye, on the other hand, was very excited with her new work. In one week, her father brought her to meetings, to store inspections, to merchandise collections, to meet the store managers and supervisors and do more things so she could learn the ins and outs of their business.
"Dad, I have something in my mind." she told her father when they reached home after a long day of "tour".
"Speak. Let me hear your opinion." if they talk about business, her father would really act as proper businessman, of course, there were exceptions for family members.
"I was thinking that, maybe for this week I could learn something by doing some supervisory work or managing the store. How about I work as an assistant in one of our stores? I think it's a little abrupt becoming a CEO without proper preparation." Kaye said as they entered their house.
"That's a good idea. Why not? So you'll start with that operation plan next week?" her father asked knowing his daughter wants the best of everything. And there's the mother who would support her no matter what happens.
Speaking of, Kaye's mother was walking downstairs with two shopping bags on each hands.
"Welcome home." Mrs. Jimenez greeted her husband and daughter who just came home from work.
"Hi mom. What are those?" she asked her mother pointing to the bags she was holding as she put her own bag on the coffee table.
"I bought asked Richard to buy all these for James class. Remember the little painter you introduced to us?" her mother placed the bags on a couch and gave them a welcome-home hug.
"Of course I remember. That little guy has a great talent for art." Kaye checked the things inside the bags. There were small canvass, different palettes of paints, different kind of pencils, and other stuffs that will be used for paintings and drawings.
"I asked the head of the orphanage as to what we can do for the little guy. Though this isn't much, James only wanted to learn more when it comes to paintings and sell them to give funds to the orphanage." Mrs. Jimenez told her daughter about the things she had discussed with the head mistress.
"Hmm. That's good to know. We can open an art gallery for him in the future. We can ask other children who had talent in art to submit their work as well. In that way, they would be able to gain funds." Mr. Jimenez expressed his agreement regarding the arrangement.
They don't provide funds directly to the orphanages instead they would cultivate those with talents in arts or crafts so they can earn. They provide educations to children as well and buy their school requirements.
However, when it comes to food, clothing and other basic needs, it's the orphanage that would provide it.
"Will you be sending this tomorrow?" Kaye asked her mom with an eager expression.
"Yes. Are you coming with me?" Mrs. Jimenez asked even though it was obvious looking at her expression.
"Yes of course. Let me prepare something for the kids as well." Kaye ran upstairs in a hurry to change her clothes. She decided to bake something for them.
