COINCIDENCE

The next morning, Kaye and her mother were all prepared to go to the orphanage. This time, Mr. Jimenez won't be going with them since he's busy preparing all the transfer procedure of the company to Kaye.

"Bye dad! See you later." Kaye gave her father a goodbye kiss before heading out of the house with all the stuffs she had prepared in advance. She baked cookies and cupcakes last night for the kids at the orphanage which already became a habit for her everytime she goes to any orphanage that their foundation is affiliated to.

When Kaye and her mother arrived, there were several people that the headmistress was talking to. Seeing them getting off the car, the headmistress smiled while waving at them.

"Good morning, Mrs. and Ms. Jimenez. I'm glad to see you today." greeted the headmistress to them. She turned to the other couple and started introducing them. "These are Mr. Gabriel and Mrs. Grace Harley who also helped us with cancer-patient children." said the headmistress to them. "These here are Mrs. Margaret Jimenez and her daughter, Kaye. They helped us with the educational needs of the children."

"It's nice to meet you. I've met a young Harley before. Though I don't know where he is now." Kaye reached out her hands for a handshake. It didn't escape her observations when the woman gave her husband a shocked look before taking her hands.

"Our family is big." Mr. Harley said with a smile on his face.

"I wouldn't argue to that." Kaye responded with a stifled laughter which made her pretty and approachable.

"You've got a great daughter." Mrs. Harley told Mrs. Jimenez before shaking her hands.

"I'm indeed blessed to have her in our life." Mrs. Jimenez said. "Are you leaving already?" she asked them after seeing a car that arrived in front of them waiting for the couple to get in.

"Yes. We still have some matter that needed to be done at the hospital. I hope to see you again." Mrs. Harley said.

"See you around Mrs. Harley." Kaye said with a slight bow. Grace just smiled at her before taking her husband's hand and left.

"Their eyes looked sad." Kaye commented as she walked down the hallway following the headmistress.

"I heard their son left and haven't contacted them." The headmistress said but she didn't say anything more than that.

"That is sad." Kaye said before turning to her mother. "Remember Ivan mom?" seeing her mother nod Kaye continued, "He's also a Harley."

"You knew their son? Why didn't you tell them?" The headmistress stopped on her track and turned to her. "You knew Ivan Harley?"

Looking at the seriousness on the headmistress' face, Kaye felt nervous. She faintly nodded her head before she spoke in a low voice. "I met him a couple months ago. However, I didn't knew he was their child. I don't know where he is as well."

The headmistress heaved a long breath before sighing. "It was pure coincidence that you met them. If ever their child contacts you, it would be better to let them know."

"I also think the same. That is if their child would contact me." Kaye said with a smile but it didn't reach her eyes. After all, it would be impossible for Ivan to contact her again specially that he found the woman he was looking for.

'He didn't elope with her, did he?' Kaye's mortifying thought scared her out of her wits. She didn't know what to feel.

After meeting Ivan's parents coincidentally and knowing that Ivan ran from home, Kaye was silent the whole day. She didn't interact that much with the children. Her mother and the headmistress noticed her spacing out so they asked her to rest for a while.

It's not that she's tired, she's just distracted!

In the meantime, Mr. and Mrs. Harley were on their way to the hospital. They've put in more time on their work to stabilize the hospital due to some serious cases that needed attention. However, they asked some people to investigate Ivan's whereabouts.

"No news yet?" Mrs. Harley asked her husband who looked so tired and exhausted.

"There's none." Mr. Harley answered before turning his full attention to her. "Do you think it would be better that we tell him the truth. I think an explanation would do. I'm most certain that he's found something already."

Mrs. Harley looked at her hands before nodding her head. "Let's wait for him to come back and explain everything." she have her husband a gentle squeeze on his hand.

The ride back to the hospital was in silence once again. Mrs. Harley was spacing out while thinking something was oddly familiar with the girl she met earlier. After a few minutes, she couldn't keep it to herself anymore so she turned to her husband.

"Don't you think the girl earlier was very familiar? I just couldn't point out where I've seen her." she told her husband her thoughts.

"She looked similar to the child on Ivan's framed picture inside his room." Mr. Harley answered.

"Right. That was it. She indeed looked similar to the little girl in that photo with Ivan and Yvonne." she mumbled to herself after confirming why Kaye looked familiar.

"She said that she met a young Harley before." Mr. Harley stated without giving further details but even so, Mrs. Harley still got what he meant by that.

"What a coincidence! It never crossed my mind that we would meet her. Ivan was so devastated after finding out that she was given out to an orphanage. Who would've thought that she's this big and wonderful."

"Let's tell him once his back." With all things have been said, they came into compromise to give Ivan an explanation and let him know about the girl he was looking for.

Truth might hurt someone but they deserve to know it.
