MOVIE DATE I

Kaye and Ivan finished their dinner before heading out to the cinema and watch the movie they chose. While walking Kaye looked at Ivan carefully.

"How did you cope with your blindness? I mean some people would be irritated easily and they don't like anyone beside them." She wasn't really intending to pry on his privacy but she wanted to know more about him during the time that they didn't get to see each other.

Ivan paused for a while before he looked at her with an answer. "At first, it was frustrating. I wanted to smash everything that I got myself to hold. I wanted to give up everything. Then, I realized I haven't found you yet, so I continue to live." There's no denying that Kaye was his driving force. He didn't want to lie on her since he needed her to trust him in this lifetime.

"Did you rely on screen reader app since then?" Kaye asked once again. She walked beside him like an obedient little girlfriend.

"It was Alex who introduced the app to me when I needed to get some work done." Ivan sighed as he recalled the past. It was a very challenging times for him.

Alex was very patient towards him and he kept up with his pace to make sure that they'd get through with the impending crisis.

Alex would deal with the company in the morning then he would go over to their house every afternoon to deal some matters with him.

"I can feel his respect towards you. Alex is a good friend, I believe." Kaye said while shuffling her bag from her left hand to her right, to avoid soreness on her arms.

"Alex is a great friend. He chose to stay with me even though I was blind. Everyone thought badly of me, but he never went behind my back. I trust him so much." While speaking Ivan grabbed her bag which Kaye gave without argument.

They talked more about Ivan on the way to the cinema. When they reached the venue, they asked for their ticket to get inside the place.

"Would you like some popcorn?" Ivan asked before they get inside the movie room.

"I'm full. We can share one if you like." Kaye suggested intentionally to see if Ivan would agree or not. To her surprise, Ivan did agree.

"Alright. I'll grab one. I'll just get water for us since we had wine earlier." Kaye felt like it was a real date so she didn't want to spoil the night with any argument. She agreed with whatever Ivan said.

She waited for him near the entrance while answering a phone call. It was Lexi.

"Hey Lex! How is it going?" Kaye asked when she heard her friend on the line.

"I think it's fine here in my end. Needs more talking. How about you? Did you eat dinner already?" Lexi asked with a worried tone but her face was grinning with mischief. Beside her was Kathleen who came to visit and would be sleeping over.

Kaye didn't sense anything at all while answering, "Yeah I did. I ate with Ivan. I just remembered that this place is actually near his workplace."

Lexi who turned on the speaker of her phone made a high five with Kathleen. "That's good. My cousin is a gentleman. Enjoy your time." She didn't speak more else Kaye would be suspicious of her.

"This is nice. I can't wait to see her name in our family register." Kathleen exclaimed with excitement written all over her face.

"I know right. If she didn't misunderstood you, they could be a couple now." Lexi poked her cousin's waist that tickled her. Laughters rang in Lexi's room while they talked about Kaye and Ivan.

On the other hand, Ivan received a text from his cousin to send Kaye home. Of course, he planned to do that. He put his phone back inside his pocket and picked up the pop corn and two bottle of water.

He saw Kaye waiting for him with a beautiful smile. 'I want to see her waiting for me. Just for me.' Ivan thought which made him shake his head making a 'tsked' sound.

"Let's get inside." He pulled her closer to him so that she would feel warmer beside him.

Kaye held his arms as they step inside the movie room. Some seats were occupied and some were not. They chose a seat at the back area to avoid mingling with the crowd.

Most of the audience were kids who came with their parents. Seldom were lovers and some were group of friends. Kaye envied them since she didn't experience going out on a movie date with friends when she was young, but with Ivan beside her, it dispelled some of her jealousy.

"Let's go out again next time?" Ivan asked her when he saw her sad face looking at the group of friends. He could guess what's going on with her brain with just a look at her.

"You won't get bored with me?" Kaye asked awkwardly. She knew that she has a different taste and she couldn't get a long with people most of the time.

"Spending time with you is the best."

"Hmmp! You're just saying that to make me feel better." Kaye complained but deep inside she felt really happy.

"These are not empty words. I'll bring you to a special place next time. We can't go there this weekend, so I'll bring you there next week." Ivan promised while giving her a playful wink.

"If you say so. If I wouldn't enjoy it, I won't see you again." Kaye threatened as she adjust her seat to recline backwards a little bit.

"You'll miss me for sure if you won't see me." Ivan made a flying kiss towards her that made Kaye laugh heartily.

"You wish." Kaye retorted with a blushing face.

"I wish that we get to spend more time." Ivan said which stunned her a few seconds but she composed herself to avoid giving herself away.
