I SLEPT ON YOU, YOU SLEPT ON ME

Not long after, both of them arrived at the Hue residence. Ivan opened the door for her in which his family took in surprise. It seemed they've made up already.

"Good afternoon auntie Yve. Where's uncle chad?" Kaye greeted them when she stepped out of the car.

Yvonne smiled at her knowing that they have cleared whatever misunderstanding that took place in the past few days.

"He's checking on the things we need. You and Ivan will come with us. I'm not allowing him to drive. Both of you must be exhausted so you can sleep at the backseat later." Yvonne spoke giving her son a look that held no compromise was allowed.

"I apologize for worrying you auntie." Kaye responded with a guilty face. However, Yvonne didn't take it against her.

"I understand. Ivan, get your things and put it on the trunk." Yvonne commanded her son in which Ivan happily took action immediately.

He placed Kaye's bag first before taking his own. Chad helped him as well to make things easier. After all the preparations, they followed Yvonne and got inside the backseat.

"I'm still tired." Kaye expressed how she was feeling to Ivan. Though it was in a whisper, Yvonne and Chadwick could read her lips on the rearview mirror.

"Wait a moment." Ivan got off the car for a while before they could set off. He went back inside the house and ran directly towards his room. He took a comforter and a travel pillow from his closet.

"I'm glad that he's still cares about you." Yvonne said while looking at Kaye with a tender gaze. "Thank you for bringing him back to me, Kaye."

Kaye blushed upon hearing the deep gratitude from Yvonne's voice. "Auntie, you don't have to thank me. All these years, you took care of me. You gave me a family. You helped me so much since I was young. Even meeting Ivan was because of you. You've given me a second chance at life so I should be the one thanking you instead." Kaye was teary eyed remembering how much she suffered in the past and how much these people in front of her helped her overcame her fears.

"Come on. Stop thinking about the past. I don't want women crying in front of me. You won't even look pretty." Chadwick joked at them to ease the gloomy atmosphere.

Both Yvonne and Kaye laughed at his side comment. Ivan came back as soon as possible with the stuff in his hand, but he paused for a few second when he saw some tears at the corner of her eyes.

"What happened? Why are you crying?" Ivan was thrown into panic thinking that she was bullied. He didn't want her family fighting or be in disagreement.

Seeing the panic on his face, Yvonne chuckled which caught Ivan's attention. He turned to look at her but shr threw a smirk at her son. "I didn't bully her, okay? You should know better than anyone how much I like Kaye."

Ivan realized that his fear was indeed groundless. He wiped the tears using his thumb which made Kaye bubbled in happiness. He sat properly at the backseat before placing the pillow on his lap. "Lie down so you can sleep."

"How about you? You still look a little pale." Kaye responded in worry but she internally, she was so appreciative with his thoughtfulness.

"Don't worry about me." Ivan and Kaye didn't mind the people in front of them who were busy talking about the clinic.

Kaye gave in to the idea and lay down on her back, placing her head on the pillow which was placed in Ivan's lap. She took the comforter so she wouldn't be cold.

It would take them 5 hours to reach their destination so Kaye slept for the first few hours. Nobody spoke loudly to avoid waking her up.

Kaye woke up after three hours and what came in to view was Ivan's handsome face. He was leaning his head on the headrest, eyes closed in a deep sleep. She could even see the faint up-and-down of his chest.

Kaye sat up straight before looking outside the window. "Are we near already?" She asked Yvonne who was busy feeding her husband.

She turned to face her and gave her some food but Kaye refused to offer since she ate earlier already. "Two hours more." Yvonne responded and gave her a water instead since she didn't want to eat.

Kaye took the offered water and drank a mouthful before covering it again and placed it on the compartment beside her. She placed the pillow on her lap, helping Ivan sleep in a comfortable position. Yvonne even helped her cover Ivan with the comforter.

Kaye didn't feel awkward at all. It was just how things were back then. Yvonne was even happier to see how much Kaye cared for her son.

Ivan was sleeping soundly, oblivious to what was happening. He had been awake most of the time these past few days. He was truly exhausted. Sensing the warmth near him, he cuddled closer to her.

Kaye could even feel the hot breath that he gave off, tingling her stomach where he was facing her. She tried turning his face away, but Ivan buried his face on her tummy instead.

Kaye felt helpless and happy at the same time. Without much choice, she leave him alone and decided to look outside the window instead.

It was getting darker as they got closer to the booked resort. It was a located in the southern part of their city and it was quite famous for its white sand beaches and diverse marine animals.

You could go on island hopping or snorkeling or some diving with turtles which the place was famous for. It was named Turtle Paradise after all.

"They've reached the place few minutes ago." Yvonne spoke after checking her phone. "Lexi was already exploring the area. Grace is waiting for us at the lobby of the resort."

"It must be really wonderful since Lexi couldn't contain her excitement. Lexi loves beaches so much." Kaye commented when she heard the news.

"I agree with you on that." Yvonne smiled while taking a short glance at her sleeping son.

Chadwick knew that his wife was worried about Ivan these past few days. Seeing the relief on her face made him smile at ease as well.

'He really needs Kaye.' Chadwick commented internally which coincided with what Yvonne thought. Kaye was a need in their family.
