I'm sorry

Grumbling grudgingly Chloe pushed her fringe away from her face.

Too disgusted by the event that took place during breakfast.

Of all the things to say and her mother of all people, a lady who was cautious but sadly at times jumped to the wrong conclusion.

As much as Chloe loved and resented her for these traits.

To say such things left Chloe shivering in disgust.

There was no way she would ever want to get close to a guy like him.

Ever!

There were so many reasons as to why she would say no to Daniel, each one left her gritting her teeth from the thought of being a meter close to him.

'Heck! I wouldn't want to touch him with a ten foot pole! Why would mother say such atrocious things!' Chloe almost gagged as she grabbed her science books, very soon she began to read with a concentrated look on her face after sitting cross legged on her bed.

Since she was stuck at home and could not work on the project, not that she wanted to work with him to begin with.

She might as well study and try to figure out a way to do the project herself in her spare time.

Even though it would be awkward handing in two different projects from the pair that were suppose to be working on the same thing, not that Chloe was trying to be petty.

But there were things she would not agree to, that was it.

To her confusion the front door bell rang disturbing the teen from her studies.

'Don't tell me he showed up again even after all that' Chloe thought with a heavy sigh.

If it was him then that is definitely commitment.

However what greeted her ears were a series of angry screams followed by the voice of someone that left Chloe stunned and near shaking.

"I just want to talk to her" the person's voice who she recognised as Jenny entered her ears.

"And why are you here? Don't think we don't know what is going on! Chloe might not tell us what is going on but the school definitely did" Gwen replied in a shrill tone as she scolded the teen.

Biting her lip Chloe kept her eyes trained on the book, even though she could only make out one word in the book- reaction.

She remained determined to ignore Jenny knowing that nothing good would happen if she confronted her.

"That is why I want to speak to… her" Jenny's voice sounded forced leaving Chloe peeking one eye at the door.

'Curiosity did kill the cat' Chloe muttered weakly as she resumed looking at the book.

'It's not like you can do much anyways' a voice said causing a now startled Chloe to slam her book shut.

Throwing it on her bed she placed her white slippers on stormed out the room, wanting nothing more than to avoid the voices.

On route she spotted Jenny's dishevelled appearance as she walked by the banister leading to the stairs.

In truth it looked as if Jenny had seen better days leaving Chloe confused as to why she was even here.

Wearing a summer jacket over her orange dress top and brown leggings.

Jenny's brown flats looked a bit scuffed compared to the last time Chloe saw them.

'Didn't she say she brought those two weeks ago?' Chloe pondered as she remembered hearing Jenny gushing about them to her friends.

Jenny who had heard the door open looked at Chloe, her eyes almost frantic if not wild leaving Chloe wondering why she looked like that.

"I need to talk to you… alone" Jenny said while clenching her hands inside her jacket.

"Why should we allow that?" Blane asked feeling more angry that she would want to use this to torment Chloe more.

Jenny as she heard this bit the inside of her right cheek tightly.

"I… I'm sorry!" Jenny forced the words out loudly surprising the family as they watched her yell.

Chloe as she heard this froze, her eyes widened in surprise from even hearing this.

After all Jenny never apologised for what she did to Chloe, even as she took things too far.

To their surprise Jenny rushed up the stairs and grabbed Chloe's upper arms.

"I'm sorry for what I did, I promise I won't do it again" Jenny said while bowing her head at Chloe's stunned form.

"I was wrong, I shouldn't have done those things to you" Jenny added as she bit the inside of her mouth once more.

Blane gave Jenny a hard look while Gwen glared angrily at the teen who had tormented her daughter for who knows how long.

Did she think a simple apology would fix things?

Chloe as she remained still stared at Jenny who looked frantic as she spoke, what caused this sudden change of heart.

"Whatever you want I'll do it, I promise" Jenny pleaded as her voice went a bit higher.

"If you want money, clothes I'll give it to you" she added to Chloe's now disgusted face.

Pushing a now startled Jenny away Chloe allowed the frantic teen to see her reaction.

"You really disgust me, why you came here is unbelievable" Chloe said while her hands shook in rage.

"I…" Jenny's voice shook as she tried to grab Chloe's arm but was shrugged away.

"Do you really think I would forgive your sorry excuse of an apology? Do you think that bribing me would take away all the pain and humiliation you inflicted upon me?" Chloe asked as her voice went up despite trying to remain calm.

Jenny's mouth parted in shock as she realised she messed up.

"N-No Chloe I mean it please just-" Chloe shook her head as she ignored Jenny's pleading voice.

"Just do me a favour and leave me alone! That's all I want. I don't want you bothering or hurting me EVER AGAIN!" Chloe yelled angrily before storming into her room and slammed it shut behind her.

Once she felt somewhat safe in her room she locked it with the button on the doorknob before slumping on to her knees.

Why?

Why did this have to happen to her?

Why was Jenny acting like this and bribing her all of a sudden?

Did she think that Chloe would sweep this under the rug?

Pretending that what she went through never happened?

What did she take Chloe as?

'I… I wish she never bothered me again. Why can't she just take the hint?!' Chloe gritted her teeth as she gripped the doorknob tightly with her right hand.

Meanwhile her left gripped the ends of her shirt causing both knuckle to turn white from the pressure.

Chloe as she tried to push what she saw out of her head tried to push the swarming voices that surrounded her leaving her almost suffocated by the condensed room.

"I want it all to end! Why do you all plague me so much?! What do you want with me?!" Chloe screamed as loudly as she could.

Not caring that she could crack her teeth from the pressure she was enforcing on them.

Uncaring that they could hear her outside and assume she was losing it.

'You have no idea of what is going on' a voice said lowly before the pressure left the room leaving her feeling as if a weight had been taken off her shoulders.

Gasping from the sudden release she looked round as she took her hand on the doorknob.

To her confusion what greeted her was… silence.
