08 Another Version

Aurelian actually called them for the fact that the Destiny tree will soon sprout another bud. Which was quiet surprising. This would happen at least every 5000 years and it was finally time for it to share another one of it's buds.

Angelica who was originally uninterested suddenly had a spark in her eyes. "So your saying that the bud will appear soon? But how soon?"

"That I don't know, but it should be 3 year that it will appear." Aurelian explain until he heard her unexpected words.

"I want it" she said without much thought.

"What?" All the men in the room were stunned by her words.

Angelica rested her hand in her chin, "You heard me, I want it."

Del had already pulled out his sword and rested it against Angelica's neck. While she released a sigh and looked at Aurelian.

Aurelian gave a wry smile and had a helpless look, "you know very well I can't give it to you. Even if you want it, what good would it do you?"

"Aurelian, do you know the story of Willows?" She asked him and smiled.

"Yes. What if it?" his face frowned.

"Willows, was the story a human had made when he found a tree he couldn't cut." Del said.

Angelica nodded at him and told them the story,

"I once had the chance to read a scroll about the Willows story" she then mysterious smiled.

"But there was a twist.

The man's job was cutting wood and so everyday in the forest he wood cut wood and bring it back to repair and build new houses for everyone in the village. Until came one day he found a tree he couldn't cut. That was the beginning of the Destiny Tree.

Everyday he would attempt to cut this tree, he even tired burning it but nothing happened. Until one day came that the tree started to glow and disappeared only leaving behind a little sapling. Puzzled the man picked it up and tired breaking the leaves and that's when he discovered that the leaves were completely silver.

The man then became greedy and broke all the silver leaves off and made his wealth just like that, but then the tree stopped growing its leaves, the foolish human threw it away after finding out.

That was when the first elf king Zaire Crescentia picked it up and brought it to the current kingdom."

Everyone listen carefully but were puzzled by her story and didn't understand why she told it.

"Princess Silver, what do you mean by sharing this story?" Del asked when she stopped he had put down his sword. He had already knew this story, why did she retell it? And what with the other details he didn't hear of?

"Did I tell you what happened to the leaves after the man took it?" Angelica asked.

"No, what happened to the leaves?" Del said.

"They became a poison" Angelica said.

Everyone in the room was surprised her words. Poison? Who knew this tree would create that.

Her eyes dimmed for a second and explained, "It's a long lost poison and no one confirmed it was true, but it said that the silver leaves turned black and released and odour that killed everything around including plants and animals and that nothing could ever grow on that land. But I'm not exactly sure. It was just written like that in the scroll and as much as I would like to bring it here again.

The scroll went missing from my home."

"But does this have to do with your reason of wanting it?" Aurelian was puzzled by her request.

"You a stupid king! I want to research it! Obviously I want to see whether or not it's true!" She said.

Yup! He shouldn't have asked! If he knew she was gonna dissed him, he might as well keep his mouth shut.

"Still we can't give it to you! It's a rare tree the blooms every 5000 years! How can we possibly give it too you for research purposes?" Aurelian said while massaging his forehead.

"Then you shouldn't have told me! Whatever! Just do what you want with the plant but do call me when it's time to blossom comes. You'll probably need my help!" Angelica gave up and it was pointless to take it if they didn't agree.

Aurelian was surprised by her giving up easily but was also relieved. He was confused by her words as well. Need help with what?

"If you don't understand let me explain it, when your King first planted it a burst of magic alerted all species. You don't want another war to happen right?"

Aurelian was stunned again and thought about how the war first started. Del was also put on guard by her words and the ministers that once took her as a joke listened attentively.

Her words aren't to be taken lightly, "All right" was all he could say before falling into deep thought.

Angelica sighed, "I'm soon gonna be leaving so I'll explain another time. But heed my words. Now your highness I shall leave. May the whispers of peace keep your heart at bay, my friend."

Just like that the meeting concluded. Aurelian and the two ministers walked away talking about some work related to the kingdom. While Del and Angelica made there way down the hall they met in.

Del had many questions to ask her. Like what was her purpose and why did she want to take the sapling, since there was no way he would by the excuse of 'research'. There was something else she wasn't telling them... but what?

Angelica sighed and stopped walking, she turned to the man, "Captain Del, if you have questions please ask. My back is about to be burned down by you glaring eyes"

Del had already stopped before her. He was curious about her motive. "Princess Silver, I just wanted to ask why you know all this and what's the purpose of your warning. If you could answer please."

"Captain Del has anyone ever told you, that your stunning when your serious?" And grinned at him.

Del who was asking seriously couldn't help but blush a bit by her words. He coughed and glared at her. This was why he didn't like talking to her. She could never be serious when you want her to be!

"Alright I'll stop! But make sure you don't let others take advantage of you, since it's pretty easy!" She continued to say.

Del finally had it with her, and coldly said, "Princess you can lose everything but your dignity, so please control yourself!"

She felt that her nerve was hit and she glare at him. "Oi! Captain! You trying to pick a fight with me?"

"Princess, we both know who will win in a fight. So don't test me." Del felt like he was talking to a child and to him Angelica was nothing but a brat at the moment.

They even forgot the whole reason they started talking.
