Hmm? Hmmm? Did he think that she was weak and still the same girl who will be defeated by him again? Ohh he was so wrong!
The last time they fought was like ten years ago and at the time she lost badly, since this guy was a trickster all the way! Of course she wouldn't lose in magic, yet this captain here was great a hand to hand combat!
"Captain Del, we both know fighting was a common way to solve fights, so let's fight it out what you say? Hm? Hm?" She grinned like a cat and she finally saw a change in him.
His mouth twitched hearing her words, "Princess, why should I fight when I get no benefit from it? Unless we make a bet?"
There it is! Captain Del here, was making a bet with her! Again!
"A bet? And what will be at stake? Would it be... your dignity?" Angelica responded clearly holding a grudge on his previous words.
"Princess, that's too shallow. How about if I win, you give me that crossbow you made." Del said and instantly Angelica frowned.
"Sorry, but I broke it." She said without batting an eye.
Del: "....." How did you break something like that? It was such a great weapon.
"Ugh! Never mind, but I do have a new weapon I made, wanna try it?" Angelica said to him.
Del thought it was an amazing idea and agreed to it. So the fight they had actually became a trial attempt for her new weapon.
The dagger she made for Aurelian was officially created but not tested. So it was perfectly fine for Del to try it out. And so the both of them travel to the training spot. Where a lot of soldiers were either sparing with the hands or using their swords and magic.
Angelica had been here many times. She came here disguise as a servant and observed their fighting moves. That's how she first learned to fight until Del caught her snooping around.
The people around them stopped training and bowed to them acknowledging their presence and yelled captain in a loud tone.
But what they were most curious about was the lady behind him. Angelica was wearing a green outfit just like her blue outfit but it had long sleeves and the slits were lower. She had her silver hair into a braid down her shoulder and she was stunning as ever.
"Princess shall we try them over there?" Del called out to her and she nodded.
They both came to a spacious sparing arena. Angelica had briefly told him why she made the dagger and now she just needed someone to test it.
"Princess you could've tested it yourself why make me try it?" Del asked her and saw that she pulled out two daggers.
She rolled her eyes at him, "Captain Del, I know your skilled with weapons. Why wouldn't I ask you?" And hand him the two weapons.
"At least you know." He slowly looked at it. He had felt the magic come from it and he could tell that it was a powerful weapon, maybe around the same power as his sword. But they were super light and he was afraid it might break.
"Made with Lightening Metal and infused with a wind crystal that I obtained. It has the potential of using wind magic and for close combat. After fixing it up, the daggers used together can control the direction of winds and slice through the air. Give it a try at that tree." And she point to the tree 10 meters away from them.
By this time many guards training in the area came to watch their captain and the lady beside him.
Del was standing right near the middle and he made a slash with the double dagger and aimed at the tree.
Snap! They tree broke apart and you could see the clear cut made by the dagger. Del was amazed by it and asked Angelica, "How long did it take for you to make it?" He was dumbstruck by its prowess.
He slashed it one more time at another tree behind and the same thigh happened.
"I didn't make it recently, it was from years ago I just refined it till I thought was ok to use. How was it?" She probed.
Del threw the dagger in the air and caught it, "It's nice but isn't it too light? You said you used Lightening Metal, but wouldn't it make they weapon break easily if it takes a hit from another sword?"
"Great question, I used Lightening Metal to indeed make it lighter but I also used Black Steel. It's just not noticeable since I refined it using Lightening Metal and some runes that I wrote." She grinned and was proud of her creations.
Del was surprised since he really couldn't tell that there was Black Steel in it. But when looking closely you can see the faint black streaks across its blade.
"Amazing! So can you give it to me?" He asked hoping to get the weapon.
"Nope! It's for someone else!" Angelica said.
"....." Why did I even ask? She even told him before.
Angelica had already seen the regretful expression in him and couldn't help but laugh. He so deserved it! Her petty feelings were acting up so she decided to torture him for a bit longer and finally stopped.
Snapping her fingers she brought out another item from her pouch that she carried. It was the crossbow he originally asked for before.
Angelica handed the crossbow, "Just keep it! I can't use a bow anyway and someone more skilled should use it!" And causally gave it to him.
Del looked at the weapon. Didn't he just ask for this moments ago? "I thought you broke it?"
"Hmm, when did I say I broke it?" She innocently responded.
Del: "....." you did though.
"Anyway Captain Del, it's time I leave! See ya around, that's if I come back." And she decided to make her way back to the palace leaving him behind.
One of the soldier's came up to him, "Captain, was that lady Princess Silver?"
Del was finally out of his daze and look at the crowd around him before he spoke, "No that person was a liar that takes advantage of people."
So were you taken advantage of Captain?
All the soldiers just left him alone and went back to practice.
