76 His Eyes Like The Sun

Angelica panicked and let her be swept away by the kiss that had stormed into her mouth. She grabbed his shoulder and pushed him away lightly so she could breath.

Panting and red face she looked at the man who took her lips and kissed very roughly. She looked at him dazedly and called him.

"I-Ivan?" She tried calming herself to the best of her abilities but the suddenness and red face the she had didn't go away.

Ivan in the other hand sighed in relief and slouched down on her. With his head buried on her shoulder and hugging her waist tightly. He felt waves of relief wash over him like the ocean waters.

He raised his head to meet her ocean blue eyes and his hand moved to caress her face softly before placing a kiss on her forehead again.

"Thank the Lord. You had us all worried Angelica." He said and hugged her once again.

Angelica froze and wondered what exactly happened. She looked at the man who was hugging her and for some reason she stretched out her arms and hugged him back.

Ivan paused and felt her arms wrapped around him and hug him. He smiled and knew that something changed with her but he wasn't exactly sure. They stay like that for a few minutes.

He found the Princess falling asleep in his arms and lightly shook her before she completely closed those blue eyes. He saw her give him a cute questioning look and smiled.

"Stay awake a little longer. The doctor will be here soon." He patted her head to smoothen out the messy bed hair. But honestly this made her seem even more adorable.

Ah, it must be the kiss. Since right whatever she does is becoming adorable.

He pulled the rope and soon enough a servant came in and he ordered him to call the doctor here to check on Angelica.

"You know I'm technically a doctor as well." Angelica and said then yawned.

"Still... I won't feel assured until the doctor checks on you."

"But I only have fatigue and my magic must have been pushed to to the limits that why I'm exhausted. Other than that it's nothing."

"But you've been sleeping for 14 days. Tell me. Was that really reason or was it something else." He asked and Angelica seemed shocked.

"14 days? Please, that's nothing new. I have sleep for 8 years straight." Angelica giggled and her eyes shaped into crescents as she laughed at his worried front.

She wasn't lying, she slept at the Elf Kingdom due to its ancient magic and life forms growing there. It was like closed meditation that some practice, but for her case she slept for those years to recover her body from a few battles that not only injured her but also caused her mental state to shift and all most making her insane. It was a method of calling herself down even though it took quite a while.

In the end, she ended up in a world wind of problems once she got up. She even had to go back to Crescentia because of that damn tree. She didn't want to see her friends get caught up in a gruesome war, due to a mess from a thousand years ago. It looks like she'll need to meet with that spirit guardian of the tree. But I she knew that the spirit hated her to a certain extent.

Well, she'll just bribe him with snacks. It always worked in the past who know about the present. It might just work.

Ivan looked at the giggling woman speechlessly, he did here that she slept for some years but it was almost a decade that she slept. It made him wonder why she chose to do that and he had a number of reason why she would. He gaze darken and remember what happened during the fight against that crazy witch.

'Stacie... just who was that?' He thought.

He knew that whenever that name was spoken she was seemed frantic and disturbed. But he didn't ask as it was a touchy topic for her. The sadness in her eyes were clear and he knew that it was something that may stay forever within her.

Angelica stopped her laughing seeing the dazed man who clearly didn't know what to talk about. She looked at his face and saw the dark marks under his eyes making her feel worried and her hand reached out to touch his face and softly rub the dark circles.

Ivan in the other hand looked at her face with a intense glare that clearly screamed a certain thing, a desire. His gaze fell to her lips again and he gulped and tried to control the emotion. Even if he was tired he could become full of energy just because of her.

"You should sleep. It looks like you've been awake for three days straight without rest. You even slept on the desk earlier." She said.

Ivan grinned darkly and said deeply, "Well I was worried sick about you. I almost had a heart attack since you weren't waking up. Even the doctors could diagnose your condition as magic overuses but they consult explain the reason why you were asleep that long."

Angelica stared at his eyes, the golden shade that seemed romantic at night with lit candles showing its daring gaze but in the morning sunshine they be a living flame dancing with in them hiding the mysteries that she wondered about him. She had to say that his eyes were probably the most beautiful thing she had ever scene in the years she lived.

"Who are you Ivan?" She asked with a inquiring look. She really wanted to know who this person was that was moving her heart to an extent.

Ivan smiled and his golden his shaped in crescents, "I'm all that you know now. I don't have any reason to lie to you." His attention shifted to the knock at the door and inside came the doctor and a servant.

Ivan got up to greet the doctor before ordering them check on Angelica, who looked a bit lost. Ivan chuckled by himself but the doctor and servant looked at him weirdly making him stop.

Angelica snapped out of her dazed state and saw the old man who was the doctor politely asking if he could take her pulse. She cooperated and waited for the doctor to finish his job before she dived back into the soft blanket.

If anything she was just tired and after that nightmare, she could only push it away from her brain for the time being and try to relax as much as she can.

It didn't take long for her to fall asleep and soon light breathing was heard from behind the curtain where she rested.

Ivan had sat on the chair beside her bed and looked at her from time to time before deciding that he should go rest as well. There was no harm to her and doctor said that she was now completely fine making his heart better. He also had a small smile on his face and stretched his hand to touch her silver hair.

Lighting kissing the tips and playing with it, he looked at her while she slept. He knew that he was just stalling time to be with her a bit longer but he needed to leave otherwise he will attack her. Sighing he closed the curtain and left her bedroom and went to his own room for rest.

Angelica sat in the dining room while waiting for the Duke to come. Usually she would just eat and leave before he could catch her, but this time she needed to talk to him about a few things she missed.

She looked at the maid and felt a playful urge to bother someone.

"Miss? What's your name?" She asked and the maid looked startled but still answered. "My name is Lily, Princess Silver."

Angelica cringed at her formal tone and bagged the maid, "Please don't call me princess, if anything I'm nothing like a princess. Anyway Lily..." she smiled warmly, "Are you married?"

The maid turned red and Angelica knew that this made wasn't married but she was interested in humans so she decided to use her free time to talk to this maid that Sir Ace liked and it seems she had the same feelings since she had always caught the maid looking at Ace from time to time.

"No, my lady. I'm not married or engaged." She added with a small blush.

"But you like someone. Tell me, how do you tell that you fallen from someone? And how it feels when the person you like returns their feeling for you." Angelica asked curiously.

Lily seriously thought about it before giving a smile, "I didn't know when I fell in love. At first I thought about how he made me feel. He was strong, reliable, kind and also cute." She giggled remembering something funny, "But he made me think of him as a safe person to be with. Someone who can make my heart beat faster when he's near me. And that's when I probably felt something for him."

Lily then put on a weary smile "I'm not really sure how they feel for me. I mean... I'm not that confident to confess myself. But if the person I liked confessed to me then I would also return my feelings to the best I can." She gave a cute smile to Angelica who was lost in her thoughts but genuinely smiled.

"I don't think you'll be waiting for long Miss Lily." Angelica said and turned to door, when she detected a few high energy magic entities.
