Preparations

It was now bright and early in the morning. KJ woke up due to the sudden chirping of birds outside. He got up and put his sleek black robes on. He reached for the window to let a stream of light in. He sighed and thought of his plans one more time.

So, to rule the world… I made far too many mistakes in my previous life and lost many opportunities but not that will be different. I have knowledge that no one else should know of yet and because of this, I will have the biggest head start.

In my past life, I began my early years tending to my family instead of growing a kingdom. Right now, I live in a humble wooden lodging in the forests with just me and Kabal. My family only lives an hour away on foot but I was sent here to continue being a scholar so I could bring money to my family.

However, with a second chance, I will make every moment worth it. Sooo, lightning. Lighting was one of the elements that no continent was familiar with until a few centuries later. Lightning was later found out to be one of the strongest attributes someone could wield. It even boasted one of the highest destructive abilities.

In this life, the first power I will acquire will be lightning. I need power as a basis for everything else I am going to do. I also know of an advantage I can receive.

THUD THUD THUD

A knocking sound came from the wooden door of KJ's room and as he opened it, he saw a familiar face, it was Kabal.

Kabal bowed slightly in greeting and KJ returned the act.

Kabal: Have you thought everything over, you know we can always stay here or go back home if anything goes wrong.

KJ smirked in response, "Kabal, Kabal, my old friend. Just follow my lead, nothing is impossible in this world. This may seem too sudden, but we should pack everything we need today because we will soon be leaving The Scorched Continent.

Kabal seemed a bit flustered, "All of a sudden why? Are you planning to go to The Golden Continent?"

KJ: No Kabal, there is a secret place I have recently discovered. The Continent to our left is called The Alazar Kingdom, at least those are some rumours I've heard. In the sea where the borders of our two continents meet, split down the entire sea is a giant trench. This trench is filled with darkness and not many if any at all know about it on land. Our first destination will be that area, it will be our greatest weapon in the future.

Kabal nodded his head, he understood what he had to do. "I will take my leave and start packing the things we need for the journey, think over everything and we will leave at nightfall.

KJ left his room as well and went to an old wooden table, he pulled out a chair and grabbed a piece of fish they cooked from the night before. He finished his meal and washed it down with some water.

He walked towards the door and let out a loud voice before he left, "Kabal I will be making preparations, pack whatever we need." As he said this, he opened the door and stepped out.

The sun was radiating with almost unbearable heat. The ground was scattered with small fissions and leaves piled up in some places on the ground. As he continued walking, he eventually got out of the forest.

He was now near the edge of a cliff, he looked over and reminisced.

So, I'm now at the foot of the ocean. The journey to the trench is a relatively long one as we will be diving down. I'll need to find some Diving Pellets, they were white round pellets that once eaten give you 10 minutes of time underwater, the pills were stackable up to a few hours.

Where the forest ends, and the cliff begins had brilliant white sparkly soft sand scattered minimally on the floor. KJ looked as if he was a lunatic, he knelt down and examined the cracks he could find with sand in them.

After about 15 minutes of searching, he found what he needed. KJ opened his palm and within it he had 6 Diving Pellets. He carefully put them away and made his way back to his wooden lodging.

When he opened the door to his home he was greeted with a pleasant surprise. Kabal was sitting in the main room, he was sitting beside the fireplace. With a closer look, we can see that he was cooking rations for the journey.

He was currently roasting some nuts that had an unusual purple hue to them.

"KJ come try these sour nuts I've been roasting, they're usually a bit squishy but when roasted enough the harden a good bit."

KJ took a handful of nuts and dropped them into his open mouth. He used to dislike these in his past life but grew to love them, although they were nuts, they had a sour taste to them.

KJ smiled after finishing them, "Roasted to perfection, maybe you should become a chef hahahaha."

Even though KJ was joking, he did indeed require cooks for his kingdom in the future. He thought about potential candidates.

The amount of energy left in the world is at its peak and it will only dwindle as people acquire energy and change it into their own. Even with something like cooking, the most talented chefs could infuse magic into their food giving them special properties. These types of chefs though few outstripped many of the Mages which practiced Buff Magic.

Kabal once everything is packed on your end we will be leaving right away, take your time.

And with that KJ went back to his room and took a nap. "Werewolf Lord, Vampire King, Top Chef, Elementals, 3 Demon Generals… I'll have to take measures against them early on.

Diving Pellets: White pellets that help you breathe under water for up to 10 minutes. Stackable up to a few hours

Sour Nuts: Purple Sour Nuts
