It was now the next morning, Kabal and KJ both woke up and took to the kitchen. They ate their meals quickly and left the room. It was kind of weird, they ate lesser fishes and sea plants as their meals.
They left their home and went straight to the marketplace. During the walk, they spoke a bit here and there.
KJ reached for a pouch on his waist and pulled out a few coins. Kabal, they left us a pouch with coins in it as a monthly allowance. "The coins are very similar to our currency on The Scorched Continent and they share the same name as well. They are also called Dagals but the structure of the coin is different in itself. The coins in The Endless Abyss have a water serpents head as the center moulding, The Golden Continent has the sun as their moulding, The Scorched Continent has a fire phoenix, The Xiaozoni Wildlands never had a currency until much later on in the future. The Alazar Kingdom had a crown and the Adorellian Forests have a pair of wings as their moulding.
Each of the coins have a golden center moulding and a golden trim bordering the circular coin. Besides the golden symbol in the middle and the trim around the outside, the inside is a different colour depending on where the coin is manufactured. The material is similar to silk for this specific piece of the coin.
The Golden Continent uses yellow silk, The Scorched Continent uses red silk, The Alazar Kingdom uses purple silk, The Endless Abyss uses blue silk and The Adorellian Forests use green silk for their coins. Each continent uses bright and vibrant silk which is highly pursued and also used in clothing."
Kabal: damn that's a lot to take in and remember, I don't even know some of these places and haven't been to any except for our home in The Scorched Continent and now in The Endless Abyss.
KJ patted him on the shoulder, "Well this last part should be common knowledge for you. There are 3 types of coins, there are gold, silver and bronze coins. The gold coins have gold moulding and gold trim. The silver and bronze coins work in the same fashion. Silver coins have silver moulding and trim while bronze coins have bronze moulding and trim."
Kabal finally was getting old info that was easier to digest, "Oh, so it's the same as ours. I'm guessing the way they are used is the exact same as well. You know, 10 Bronze Dagals are worth 1 Silver Dagal, and 10 Silver Dagals are worth 1 Gold Dagal."
KJ gave his friend a smile, "Yuuup, that's it. I can't believe that 1 Gold Dagal is worth 100 Bronze Dagals. It's crazy to think some poor people can live monthly with around 100 Bronze Dagals but to buy a decent boat it would already be more than 1 Gold Dagal. Don't get me started on spiritual items, those can go for even more than boats, fuckin boats man."
By the time they finished peaking the ground beneath them began to light up without them even noticing. They were finally at the marketplace and it was quite noisy. It was pretty early so a lot of people were out shopping or just enjoying in general.
Kabal: It's much louder than I thought it would be. I thought it would be quieter like yesterday
KJ: Enjoy it, it's part of the lifestyle down here
Kabal's eyes were constantly wandering. He was looking at the various things on sale. On each side of the walkway were stands, they had a plethora of items. A lot of them sold food and some even made specials snacks that you could buy and eat on the go. The next largest selection was the clothing, many of the stands had beautiful clothing. Some were plain one colour pieces, some were multi-piece, some had flowery designs and others were showered in gems and other precious materials. None of it caught Kabal and KJ's eyes though.
However, they did manage to catch the eyes of the other shoppers. The people that lived down here have never seen anyone like KJ and Kabal before, they were indeed from the surface, they looked much too different. Some people gave them weird looks while others gave them a friendly smile and gesture just like they would any other residents.
Some people were secretly whispering to each other, but they didn't care about any of it. They finally saw a weapons shop that caught their eye, they gave a few medicine stands a glance but chose to only pursue the weapons shop.
The stalls also had permeable barriers that blocked the water out. They walked in and caught a breath of fresh air, it felt as though they were back at their wooden cabin. It smelled a bit like pine and the wood below their feet creaked as they walked in.
The shelves were packed with tiny weapons.
"Hey, boss, what are these scraps for." A shopper pointed to the shelves.
The owner kicked his chair back and left his feet on the desk in front of him. "If you cannot tell its usage it is not for you."
"What is that supposed to mean, I am a seasoned warrior of our training ground."
The owner opened an eye and took a glance as the fellow, the owner slapped an old dust-covered sign, "this is 'Taihe's Art' and you're talking to Taihe himself. If you can't appreciate the art there is no need for you to be using it."
Dagals: world currency. 10 Bronze Dagals = 1 Silver Dagal. 10 Silver Dagals = 1 Gold Dagal.
Dagals have gold/silver/bronze mouldings or symbols in the center of the coin. Around the perimeter of the circular coin is gold/silver/bronze trimming. The rest of the coin is basically the parts between the moulding and trim and these are filled in with silk.

Adorellian Forests Dagal: Green silk. Pair of wings moulding.
Endless Abyss Dagal: Blue silk. Water serpent head moulding.
