Focus on your business process

When you start a business make sure you're in it for a long run. You can deviate slightly to follow up with the current changes in technology but maintain your long term vision for your company.

Write down your business mission and vision as clearly and possible. Your mission will have your USP stated as well. Both of you must have a common understanding on how the business should operate. What is it that you want your customers to benefit from the products and services that you can offer. Identify the core business and create a business model. Turn it into a process and divide the task of handling each sub process between you and your partner. Discuss and make sure both of you understand and agree to be committed on fulfilling the sales process. Remember both of you need each other in order to complete the sales process.

It takes the sun and the moon to complete a day. In another words both of you have a shared responsibility to make your business tick. You will have to identify what is your strength and weaknesses so that you can complete your sales process much faster.

Some tasks can be done together like social media marketing which is the key area for your business growth. You need as much leads and creative ideas as you can get so that your product will be viewed by a larger pool of prospects.

Consider these few process steps if you're thinking of doing on line sales. Example of tasks that you might be involved in.

1) Product sourcing and purchasing

2) Social media marketing

3) Delivery to customers

4) Create professional looking invoices

5) Product packaging

6) Pricing of products

7) Finance account

Once you have your business mission in place for your business operation on how it should work to benefit you and your customers. Next is to bring your business to the next level. This will be your vision stage where you see where your business is going globally. I have mentioned supplying your products to retailers. To grow bigger you need to go global meaning you have to get your product and your brand out to other countries. At this stage you need to supply product to your overseas retailers. But before that you have to capture your local markets first. Use the experience and sales figures to present to potential overseas partner retailers.Start with countries nearest to you. To be prepared for this stage you need to get as much overseas retailers contacts as possible. While you enjoy your overseas holidays with your spouse set aside some casual conversation with shop owners and identify any business opportunity you may find. Who knows you may strike a chord for a business dealing one day.
