Farewell.

A silence reigned in the hall for an unknown period of time.

Julio didn't know how to react, the captain almost spit blood and the three bankers were scared.

"But what kind of evil spirit is that?" Swallowing his own saliva, one of the bankers asked.

It was then that Julio seemed to come to his senses, he looked at the banker angrily and said:

"You are an evil spirit! Can't you see he's just a little baby ...?"

"A little baby who speaks, and seems to understand what is around him." The captain suddenly spoke.

"Now that I pay attention, that red robe has the symbol of R'hllor ..." The other banker said.

"It must be the work of those Asshai fanatics! I've heard stories that babies in that place are used in magic rituals ..." The other said then.

"Silence!" Nero spoke to both of them.

But they continued to murmur among themselves.

"From your reaction, I don't think you knew about this baby's strangeness." Nero spoke as he narrowed his eyes at the captain.

The captain just smiled bitterly.

"If this were a normal child, I would have no problem taking care of her. But, tell me, old man, what are the origins of this child and why does he manage to ... speak?" Nero asked the captain with a sharp look.

Julio hesitated, he doesn't know if he can trust Nero. But then Jin looked at him with a look that said "do you think I talked to you for nothing?"

Julio then decided to speak a part of the story and lie a little:

"This baby is not related to me ... He is the son of the lord I served in the western lands. Their parents died from the attack by bandits, and I had to get him out of his mother's belly so he could be born" Julio said while the hands were shaking.

"After that, the baby ... he was dying but suddenly it seemed to get better, I had to run away so that the other bandits wouldn't find us, I was hurt and I had to stop in a village, there the priest of the Seven told me to take care of the baby because the gods had plans for him. "

"I didn't believe it at first, but on the way to Lannisport I realized that the baby was not normal, yet something told me to keep looking after him ..."

Hearing Julio's emotional explanation, the captain frowned a little but decided to remain silent.

Nero continued to look indifferent.

Julio thought they were not believing and said:

"Look ... In Tyrosh the priests of R'hllor kidnapped the baby for a while, I don't know what they wanted but then they gave him back in that robe."

"Don't you think this is a sign from the gods that this child is special?"

The bankers looked at each other and began to murmur. The captain looked at Jin with a slightly strange expression and Nero seemed to try to discern whether this was true.

After a few minutes of discussion, the bankers then mutter something in Nero's ears.

After a brief silence, Nero said:

"I can't tell if what I said is true or not, but if you want me to take care of the baby, a test needs to be done!"

Julio asked cautiously what kind of test it would be and Nero explained:

"Although magic is considered extinct in the world today, many relics from the past are still in existence, we have one in particular on the iron bench that helped Braavos a little to rise as the largest of the free cities." He then waved to the bankers.

The bankers withdrew and returned a few minutes later, carrying what appeared to be a black candle.

"Many centuries ago, when Braavos was still a secret city, the founders of the iron bank somehow managed to get this candle."

The captain then asked:

"Isn't that one of those valyria glass candles?"

"If it were just that, it wouldn't be special." Nero shook his head and explained:

"This candle is said to have the power to detect when something magical is near, be it something person or object."

"But the real purpose of this candle is to detect the black magic of Asshai and other obscure places, which have a unique signature." He said then waved to the banker holding the candle.

The banker then approached Julio.

"If the baby has something magical, the candle will light in a light colored flame, however, if there are traces of black magic like blood magic, the candle will light in a dark colored flame"

Jin looked with curiosity at the candle, he was always curious about the magic of this world, which was not depicted much in the series but rather in the books.

But even after the banker was beside the baby, the candle did not light.

Nero's brow furrowed a little and the captain seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

Jin didn't seem surprised, since he doesn't really even know much about the magic of this world.

But for some reason, the depths of his mind continued to make an idea appear in Jin's mind, but he suppressed it, as it was not an appropriate time.

After standing for a few minutes on Julio's side, the banker then asked:

"Can you make the baby touch the candle for a moment?"

Julio waved and put Jin beside the candle, and then looked at Jin.

Jin sighed secretly and put his hand on the candle, but as before the candle did not light.

After a brief silence, Nero then said:

"Even if the candle had lit up in a light color, I would not have accepted the boy." He then went in front of Julio and added:

"But I think that only a work of the gods, whichever one, can make such a small baby speak." He then held out his hands towards Jin.

Jin wanted to curse out loud but did not dare and Julio, after hesitating a little, allowed Nero to hold Jin.

After holding Jin, Nero looked directly into Jin's eyes.

"It's really extraordinary ..." Nero murmured.

"So, do you accept my order?" The captain broke the atmosphere and asked.

Nero didn't seem to hesitate and nodded, making the captain sigh in relief and Julio sigh in bitterness.

The captain went to Julio's side, tapped him on the shoulders and said:

"Maybe it's better this way, Julio ..."

"What's the child's name?" Nero suddenly asked.

Julio's eyes widened and he replied:

"... The child has no name ..."

After a brief silence, the captain laughed and said:

"After taking care of the child for so long, didn't you even think of a name for him?"

Julio just smiled bitterly.

"Come on old man, decide!" The captain shouted.

After thinking for a brief moment, Julio took Jin in his arms and said:

"You will not be able to inherit anything from your parents, but you are not a bastard, your surname will be as it should be, BlackGold."

After Julio said this, everyone was shocked, because despite the BlackGold family being a vassal of the Lannister house, they are famous all over the world for their information network.

"Your name will be ... Jack." Julio spoke in a stern voice.

Jack, the name of the killer of the baby's parents.

Jin understands why the old man is doing this, it is to remind him that his origins in this life should not be forgotten.

"I heard that the Golden FirePlace Lord was killed by bandits along with his pregnant wife. Is it possible?" Nero suddenly spoke.

"The Lord of the Golden Fireplace was known to have blond hair and blue eyes, there is no way to guarantee that a child with different characteristics is really his son." One of the bankers spoke.

"That's exactly why I dare say, because I know there is no way to prove that he is a BlackGold." Julio said slowly.

Everyone then understood, not necessarily believing, and the captain said:

"We are going to stay in Braavos for two weeks to prepare everything necessary for the expedition. You must enjoy the time left with the boy, perhaps this is the last time you see him."

Julio shook his head and handed the baby to Nero.

"I think it is better to say goodbye now, if I stay with him for a long time it is possible that I will change my mind."

The captain smiled bitterly and said:

"At least let the crew see the little one last time, I think the lieutenant would be sad if you didn't."

After a brief hesitation, Julio then agreed and took Jin back in his arms.

- Am I some kind of load to keep changing hands?

Jin thought bitterly.

"I will prepare your gold, you will buy what you need yourself. Your gold will be delivered to you personally. You can leave the baby at my residence whenever you want." After saying this, Nero withdrew with the other two bankers.

"Come on, I believe the men are already hungry." The captain said while also leaving.

The trip back to the ship was silent, Julio just looked at Jin sometimes only to realize that the little one was looking at him too.

After arriving at the docks, some soldiers were waiting for him, they had been sent by Nero. Beside them was a small cart with a small chest.

"That bastard is pretty quick." The captain murmured.

They then took the chest to a small boat and started to row towards the ship.

After boarding the ship, the lieutenant received them and asked:

"It looks like your friend really is a gambler, so when do we leave?"

"First, we will need to buy some things and stock up on food and water." The captain said and looked at Julio

"Our friend here seems to have decided to stay with us, despite drinking here in Braavos."

After seeing the lieutenant's confused face, the captain explained everything that had happened on the iron bench, except for the baby's speaking part.

After listening, the lieutenant smiled slightly and said:

"Cheer up Julio, the little one will be safer here. And you want to come with us, right?"

Julio smiled and nodded.

"Julio, bring the boy to my cabin after dinner." After saying this, the captain left.

Julio was a little confused by the request, but just headed for the kitchen.

"Men, today one of ours will leave us!" In the kitchen the lieutenant shouted.

"What?"

"Who dares to abandon us? I will tear him to pieces!"

The men shouted and looked at Julio, thinking it was him.

The lieutenant laughed and said:

"He's the smallest man on that ship."

"So it's the dwarf, that bastard finally rolled over."

"I won't miss him, but I'll cut off his arm to leave it as a reminder."

The dwarf, who was drunk in the corner of the kitchen, suddenly looked around, feeling hostile looks.

"It's not the dwarf!" The lieutenant shouted.

The crew was confused for a while but then looked at Jin.

"The baby?"

"So the cook is really going to abandon us !?"

"Only the baby, will stay here in Braavos." The lieutenant explained.

The crew opened their eyes wide and started muttering among themselves:

"Did you hear that? The cook will really abandon the brood"

"I never imagined that I could witness the day when the baby was more than 10 meters from the old man."

"We are going on a dangerous expedition, whoever wants to stay here in Braavos, don't pre-" Before he could finish, a glass of beer flew and almost hit his head.

"Are you calling us cowards?"

"How many damn expeditions have we gone on and almost lost our lives?"

Seeing the men getting angry, the lieutenant sighed and shouted:

"This time is different, before the captain was sure that we would succeed, now he just thinks we can do it. You know him well enough to know his intuition, besides, our first objective on this expedition will be Valyria! Or what remains her."

After hearing the lieutenant, the crew was peaceful.

The shipwreck boat became famous not because of its construction or its crew, but because of its captain.

The captain of the shipwreck boat. The man who always bets on victory. The man who never lost a bet.

There are many titles for him, but the most famous is "He who navigates wealth".

All the expedition that the captain did always resulted in some conquest, however small.

If it were not for the fact that the captain always spent these riches to finance other expeditions, he would definitely be a rich man, as would his entire crew.

Even so, the shipwreck boat crew never abandoned it, they like to sail, they love it, and they don't think about leaving the seas anytime soon.

That is why they did not care when the captain, without shame, spent all the wealth they possessed.

After so many storms, the crew and the captain formed an almost inseparable link, they would follow him to the end of the known world if he asked.

After a short silence, the crew raised their blades and swords and said:

"The sea is our home, shipwreck boat is our bed and the captain is our wife!"

Julio couldn't take it anymore and started laughing, the lieutenant smiled fiercely and shouted:

"The captain is our wife!"

"The captain is our wife!"

"The captain is our wife!"

The crew shouted so that the people on the docks could hear.

The captain, in his cabin, gritted his teeth and sharpened his sword.

-Damn you, I will have my revenge. As soon as they appear to be the richest men in the world, I will make them go back to the mud where they belong.

After getting tired of shouting, the crew waited for Julio to finish cooking and ate without education.

After everyone left the kitchen, Julio started gathering pots and plates so they could be washed by the dwarf.

After that, he gave Jin some goat's milk and cleaned it.

Jin at this point was already traumatized from being cleaned by another man, but he had no choice due to the small body.

He remembered the beautiful priestess who bathed Tyrosh and closed his eyes as he tried to remain calm.

After finishing cleaning Jin, the old man then took him to the captain's cabin, slamming the door before entering.

"In." The captain's voice boomed from the other side.

After entering, Julio saw the captain standing in front of a table where there were two pieces of paper that were completed, a map.

He saw a part of that map before on the iron bench.

"Come here, I want you to see something." The captain said.

After approaching, Julio then saw the full extent of the map, but did not recognize the location drawn.

"You don't know what this place is, this is a map of a part of the Valyrian Peninsula."

Jin looked at the map curiously, he also didn't know which place was drawn.

"This is a map drawn by one of the kings of Westeros before the conquest of Aegon."

"A rock king, Tommen II Lannister."

"He took a large fleet of ships to the smoking sea in search of wealth and other things after the loss of valyria, only to never be seen again."

After hearing the captain's explanation, Julio said:

"I've heard a similar story, I never imagined it to be true. So, this is a map drawn by a King of the rock ..."

Soon after saying this, Julio then noticed something out of place.

"Wait, but if King Lannister sailed to the smoking sea and was never heard from again, how could this map have been drawn by him?"

The captain smiled and replied:

"I don't know about that, I just know that this map was actually drawn by him."

"How are you sure?" Julio asked.

"Because I find this map along with something that proves it. And I found it near the smoking sea."

Before Julio could ask a few more questions, the captain also said:

"Have you seen enough? I hope the map doesn't come out of your memory easily. Now get out of here, I'm tired and I want to sleep."

Julio was confused by the captain's behavior, but he obeyed and left the cabin.

Outside, the lieutenant was looking at Julio and Jin from afar. Releasing a sigh, he also went to rest.

-That guy ... He wasn't showing Julio the map.

Jin thought a little complex.

After leaving the captain's cabin, Julio went to the deck to spend time talking to the crew.

After a few hours, Julio also went to sleep with Jin.

Meanwhile, in a mansion in Braavos, three men were talking while drinking wine.

"Why do you believe that captain so much, Nero?"

In place were Nero and the other two bankers who were in the audience.

"I never lose money when I bet on it, and if that bet works, I feel like I can become even richer than I already am." Nero replied.

The bankers shook their heads in disapproval.

After a while, one of them asked:

"What do you think of that ... baby?"

"I think he is an evil spirit sent by the gods of the far east to harm Braavos." The other banker replied.

While the bankers talked to each other, Nero just thought about the little boy.

"That baby is certainly not normal, it may be as you say and he was sent by the gods of the east, but it also may not be."

The bankers looked at each other and asked at the same time:

"So are you betting !?"

"I got to where I'm now betting, this is not where I'm going to stop." Nero replied and drank from the wine glass.

"If the baby was sent by a benign God, this may be an opportunity for us, but you must understand that it must remain only between us." One of the bankers said.

Hearing this, Nero thought for a moment and agreed:

"I agree, if other people find out about a baby who can talk so soon, maybe that actually turns out to be something we don't want to face"

"The temples of the various Gods in Braavos, if dealing with just one is already problematic, imagine several."

"I bet if they become aware of the baby's existence they will want it for themselves with all kinds of claims."

The conversation of the three continued ... For a long time.

The next day, Julio woke up and prepared the crew's meal as usual, the captain went out to buy whatever was necessary for the expedition and to hire a few more ships and their crews.

Days went by like a flash, and the time for parting finally came.

Julio did not want to say goodbye to Jin, for fear of changing his mind, and handed him over to the captain to take him to Nero's residence.

But before that, he gave Jin his parents' ring and necklace.

Once there, the captain handed the baby over to Nero's maids who had already been informed.

Nero's residence could be considered a grand mansion even on earth, with several pillars around it, it looked more like a large Greek temple.

It had several small gardens around it, which demonstrated Nero's power, since the residence is not so far from the iron bench.

When handing Jin over to the maids, the captain said goodbye saying:

"I hope we can see each other again, little Jack. Dead or alive."

After hearing the captain's words, Jin just sighed internally and watched the captain leave as the maids took him inside the mansion.

Upon entering, Jin saw several statues that appeared to be gods at the entrance, a large staircase that led to the upper floor, and a large hall that had various decorations.

-Nero seems to be really rich, as expected from a descendant of Keyholders.

[This term exists only in books, as well as several other terms.]

Jin was almost sure that Nero was a Keyholder, although he was not sure because he had never heard of him before.

The maids took Jin to the back of the mansion where there was a small garden and Nero and the two banker were seated.

One of the maids came over and handed Jin over to Nero.

Looking deep into Jin's eyes, Nero said:

"I know you're a special Jack, maybe you understand what other people say, but I hope you don't let arrogance go through your head."

"The three of us decided to bet some chips on you, we will provide you with a good education and food, you will have much that you would never have even if you are a BlackGold." One of the bankers said.

"Don't be so cruel to the little one, even if he understands what we say, I doubt he understands complicated things, maybe he just understands the simplest ones." The other banker said.

"It doesn't matter if he understands it or not, shouldn't you introduce yourself to the little one as his new caretakers?" Nero asked

The bankers shrugged and spoke at a time:

"Titor Canil." The one who had black hair, blue eyes and looked to be the same age as Julio said.

"Jan Richin" The one who had blond hair, green eyes and looked to be 40 years old said.

Finally, Nero Xurz also introduced himself.

Nero looked to be around 40 years old and had red hair with blue eyes, wore glasses and has a slightly somber look.

Jin looked at the three and thought:

-Should I introduce myself too? .. I don't think so.

-Anyway, it really pisses me off, why the hell don't I seem to be destined to grow up around old people in this world?

-At least the maids will probably give me a bath instead of an old man, but still ...

Sighing secretly, Jin was sure that his adventures in this world were far from just amusing.

He knows that in order to complete the mission, he will have to work too hard or he will be destroyed after the physical body dies.

- It will be a long journey.

He thought before closing his eyes.
