Ying Yue pulled her hand back, turning red from the attention he was giving her.
"That's not practical. You frequently have lunch meetings or you forget to take lunch when there isn't one." She rolled her eyes at him. He was such a workaholic; there was no way he was going to have lunch with her every day.
"I don't forget to take lunch."
"You often do, and that forces me to not take lunch, either." She snapped.
He was instantly reminded of the other day when he told her to order something from Jade Palace for him and herself and she gave him a big smile.
"Well," Fei Huangjin cocked his head to one side to think about what he should say. He couldn't deny the words she threw at him. He held up a hand to pat her head lightly. "Starting tomorrow I'll be having lunch with my girlfriend, and if I have any lunch meetings she'll be coming, too. Take note of that, Secretary Ying."
"Who's your girlfriend, CEO Fei? I wasn't aware you had one."
"Look in the mirror. You'll find her there." He smirked.
"I don't recall you ever asking me to be your girlfriend." She gave him the side-eye and flipped her hair, getting out of the car in one swift move. How dare he instantly declare her as his woman without asking her opinion about it.
"That date tonight--"
"A lot of people go on one date and they aren't necessarily together." She started to walk to the lobby of her apartment.
He got out of the car, too. He really couldn't understand the female mind and how they can switch moods so suddenly. One moment they could be teasing you and the next minute they're suddenly upset. "Well, I have every intention of dating you to make you mine, so how about that lunch tomorrow?"
His words made her stop halfway to her building and Fei Huangjin caught up with her, turning her to face him directly. They had a wonderful night together; he couldn't just let her part with him like that. "Have lunch with me tomorrow," he said before adding, "--please."
The look on his face was a bit earnest and so unlike the usual bossy Fei Huangjin that Ying Yue had trouble holding back a smile. "I'll rearrange your sched."
He gave her a lopsided smile, releasing his grip on her arms. "Good night. I'll see you tomorrow."
She smiled at him and dodged before he could think about kissing her or anything like that.
Fei Huangjin watched her walk away, her hips swaying in tune to her body. This woman… he thought a date would slightly douse his interest in her, but he only found himself wanting her more.
Fei Huangjin got in his car and dialed Guan Ting's number. There were some things he wanted him to do.

Ying Yue plopped down on her couch, propping her feet up on the back rest. Her thumb hesitated on top of the call button. She wasn't sure what excuse she could give to Big Boss.
She pressed it anyway and wasn't prepared for the fact that he answered right away. "Big Boss! Hi!"
"How could you be so irresponsible, shadow fox?"
The sound of disappointment filtered through the phone and Ying Yue put an arm over her eyes. "I'm sorry…"
"Sorry? Did you say you're sorry? If you were really sorry, you wouldn't have done that! If Jade Circle caught up with you without the phoenix team around you, you'd be dead--"
"I was with Fei Huangjin."
"Going on one date with that man doesn't prove your relationship with him!" he yelled. Big Boss had been on the edge of his seat ever since Xi Shenghui reported that his team lost her. All kinds of unpleasant thoughts had infiltrated his brain, and when her tracker indicated that she was at the middle of the river, the first thing he thought of was that Jade Circle had drowned her.
Even though Ying Yue was a good swimmer, only he knew that she was actually afraid of deep water. Anything past six-feet deep and she panics. He accidentally discovered this when he threw her into a pool that was ten-feet deep as part of her training. "Do you even realize how worried I was? Your brother left you in my care. MY. CARE."
Guilt flooded her again. Ying Yue didn't realize Big Boss would get so worked up if anything happened to her. "I'm sorry. I promise I won't run from them again."
